Weekend Getaway

The place was very comfortable and accommodating. Loved the convenience of everything but also the seclusion from the main thoroughfare of touristy Galveston. Would love to stay here again!

Less than 1 block to family friendly beach. Well equipped kitchen. Family friendly, tastefully decorated home. Grandchildren loved the outdoor shower and rooftop deck.

Great location/beautiful beach house

We had a family gathering there of 10 adults. It was literally a one to two minute walk to the beach. The views were beautiful and they had a spectacular firework show on the Fourth of July. The beds were comfortable and the house was very well equipped and clean. Just as Shown in the listing. We enjoyed the stay very much and will definitely try to come back for another visit. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great location but No Extras

House is perfect for a larger party. It’s very clean and lots of room to move about. One thing to be aware of: there were no kitchen towels, no bath mats, no beach towels, no beach items…You have to bring everything. If you’re ok with that, you’re good to go. Just be prepared. You need spices, bring them. If you’re thinking, they may have… don’t. Bring it yourself. If you expect anything more than basics, rent elsewhere. Side note: My family has rented summer houses here for over 30 years. This was the most minimal set up I have ever encountered.

Thank you, Kelly, for your constructive feedback. I will integrate for future guests. A few items I will need to discuss with the cleaners because there should be bath mats and kitchen towels. For travel planning, I send out a list of items that are available at the house and what the guests need to plan on bringing so there’s no surprises. I appreciate having you as a guest and I hope you had a nice vacation.

Galveston Gem

Our family had a wonderful time here. The house was very nicely appointed and a place to relax. We especially loved the dinners on the upstairs porch enjoying the seabreeze. The house is about 100 plus yards from the beach. It is easy to drive your car to the end of the cul de sac and unload all your gear to spend a fun day at the beach. We would definitely stay again.

Thanks for staying at my home. The house is well laid out with lots of open space and is designed for 1-2 families to enjoy. The pictures accurately reflect the attributes of the home. I agree, the location and proximity to the beach is excellent.

Nice house!

Omicron interfered with our holiday plans in a serious way so we had a fraction of the family in the house we had planned, but we enjoyed our stay despite the disappointing circumstances (and luckily nobody got super sick). The house was clean and just steps from the beach, the kitchen was well-supplied, and the host was very communicative. Pirates' Beach is always a winner, and this house was no exception.

Great family friendly house

Two families spent 5 nights and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids loved the top deck while the adults enjoyed the main deck. Close to the beach. The outdoor shower was big enough to store our beach things overnight. The house was clean and well equipped. The owner responds quickly to questions. The only suggestion I have is to add curtains in the dining area. I would definitely stay again!

Fabulous home

This house was more than we expected! It was closer to the beach than advertised, the kitchen had plenty of utensils, washer and dryer were perfect. Everyone in our party was very impressed with the home. Jennifer was so kind and easy to work with, this was the first time our family actually rented a home for a vacation and Jennifer made everything perfect. The house was bigger than expected, very clean and quiet neighborhood! We will be back. Thank you Jennifer!

Some important positives, many negatives

Pros: Very close to a nice, uncrowded beach; good views of the water from the house; nice decks on second and top floors, and a nice area under the house with picnic tables and great shade. Quiet neighborhood of nice homes, nicely maintained and the house itself is attractive, clean and the public spaces are comfortably but not luxuriously furnished. Kitchen is adequately equipped, but barely (e.g., only one saucepan). Hostess is very prompt at replying to VRBO messaging. Cons: I am going to list here only things I didn’t know from the VRBO listing, since anything disclosed in the listing is something you can evaluate. For example, I think it is disclosed that you are charged $25 if you don’t load the dishwasher with all dirty dishes and run it before you check out. You are expected to provide your own bath soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent. You are expected to provide your own paper towels, kitchen trash bags (after the first two), foil, plastic bags, and toilet paper in excess of the single roll provided per bathroom. You will receive only one towel per bed space (so, two towels for the two queen beds, one for each of the single beds) and you will be required to make your own bed with the clean linens provided before you can sleep in it. You are instructed as your first step as a renter to conduct an audit of the owner’s possessions against a list and immediately advise of any discrepancy. Your bed will be covered with a very slippery plastic cover. As a result, the sheets provided will slide off and the bed becomes unmade in the middle of the night, making for difficult sleep. You are expected to provide your own salt and pepper, oil, and coffee. There are no herbs, spices, tea, honey, mustard, ketchup, other condiments or any other food items provided unless you buy them. In other words, unlike every other VRBO home I’ve stayed in, the kitchen is basically “empty” and so are the bathrooms. As you would expect from my description, there are absolutely no beach toys, chairsumbrellas or other paraphernalia provided except for what you bring or buy. I am going into all this detail because I was shocked by the actualities of this VRBO rental after wonderful experiences I’ve had before with great hosts and hostesses who provided more than a bare bones rental and did not require me to do basic work like making up beds. If that’s not an issue for you, you might enjoy this place.

As the homeowner, we do our very best to provide all renters with a very clean, well equip, nicely furnished home for their vacation. The home is accurately depicted in the listing and photographs. It is wonderfully situated on a large corner lot in the first block, beachside lending to great water views and easy access to the neighborhood's private beach. However, we are not a full-service hotel with unlimited linens, daily maid service and complimentary coffee/tea service. We do provide every guest a copy of the rental agreement, a list of things that are provided and things to bring so there are no surprises. We do our very best to make sure all guests have a great experience making wonderful memories with their family at the beach.

A calming getaway

This was the perfect beach house for us. It was clean, updated; the A/C worked very well; the beds were comfortable, and there was a wonderful view of the ocean. The house also had a very pleasant vibe with calming surroundings. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and answered my questions right away. We would definitely come back

Everything you need

Great outdoor shower, close to beach. Lots of balconies and sleeping space. We enjoyed seeing the ocean from the balcony and enjoying the breeze. Charcoal grill and picnic benches are great for families. Quiet. We flew a kite at beach. Only negative is not close to many restaurants but there is a convenience store and pizza place

Wonderful Beach Trip

We had a wonderful time at this pretty house, with its cute beachy decor. It is very clean and well maintained, and we loved the location! It is very close to the beach in a quiet, family oriented neighborhood! The owner is very nice and easy to work with! We would definitely rent again!

We bought our home when the kids were young for us to make lifelong memories at the beach. Once we cross the bridge to Galvestion, I know it's time to relax. As the kids get older, school and sports have become an integral part of our family and beach time is not as often as we would like. This is why we choose to rent our house, so other families can make their own lasting memories.

Pirate's beach is one of the island's premier neighborhoods. I like that we all look out for each other and are willing to lend a helping hand.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Hands down, the absolute best feature of this house is the rooftop deck. You can see the waves roll in on the beach from one side and the bay on the other. At night you can stargaze for hours.

Also, the layout is very spacious easily accommodating our large family.
