Family time

Set up was good.Dock and fire pit area were good. Outdoor decking super slippery when wet.Difficult to sleep 14.Extra fridge with 14 people would be a benefit..Great location plenty of parking.I would rent again.

Great location

Quiet spot on Deep Creek. All the conveniences of home. Bedrooms felt spaced out. Very nice set up.

Great lakeside location

Pros: Check in and check out were very easy. The lake views were beautiful especially with the fall foliage. Loved the waterfront area- the dock was in great condition. Also loved walking along the waterfront trail with our dog. Cons: the kitchen and bathrooms are dated and could use some updating/maintenance.

Great location! We had a lot of fun!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Highland Retreat. The location was great for swimming and the house had a lot of room and worked for our large group. The house did have quite a few things broken or not working when we arrived (small things), but none of that got in the way of us having a good time. The house was very clean when we arrived and we were happy to see the cots in the basement!

Good location needs some work

First of all the garbage bin was atleast half full and not in bags either someone else used it. Couldn’t fit all trash in dumpster. Some visible damage throughout the house most of them easy fixes. Location was awesome away from everything and relaxing.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Deep Creek is great. The house needs some maintenance. Most outside doors knobs are broken. Doors lock but handles need replaced. Naked light bulbs, no shades. Most lights don't work leading down to firepit. Not a big enough trash can for a 14 person house. A little tender loving care would make this house worth the money. Also furniture in basement broken (chair) and the couch torn. Other great vacation destination.

Nice house - several minor issues

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my family's first trip to Deep Creek, visiting for the week of July 4th. The house was pretty nice; it was as described in the listing. We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, and the dock was convenient for lake activities. It was a very pleasant week. There were several minor maintenance issues with the home that kept the experience for being perfect, but we did not let them bother us. I would like to list them so that future guests aren't surprised: upstairs bathroom/shower leaked into the kitchen; master bedroom door handle came off; sliding screen door on main level door handle was loose/came off; master bath shower water temp was never hot enough; downstairs pull-out couch broken; downstairs recliner chair broken; sliding door on upstairs shower broken/off track; some of fire pit furniture (chairs) broken. The wifi seemed to work well. A/C was okay. It was a nice house, we went with the flow and had a good time. We'd probably seek another house in the future - this was pretty pricey for what it was.

House is in need of some general repair and upkeep, but nothing terrible. Lack of a gas grille was inconvenient. Additionally, the house sleeps 14 guests but two of those are actually included as rollaway beds.

Outstanding lake views, swimming and fishing. If you love the outdoors this is the place for you. Walking trails, kayaking, biking, alot of exercise. Plenty to do and if you just want to kick back and relax you can just sit on the outside deck and soak in the lake. Would return again and again. Taylor Made has outstanding service and always available. Would highly recommend.

Couples Ski Trip-Fun, but Dirty

Reviewer Comments: Multiple things in the house were broken upon our arrival-multiple door handles and knobs, broken deck posts, entryway picture frame, and fireplace. Multiple lightbulbs were also out. It would have been more helpful if toilet paper would have been provided. The house was very dirty. Condoms and an old hat were left in the master suite. The duvets and pillows on all beds had stains also. I had to disinfect the kitchen upon my arrival in order to clean. We loved the scenery, layout, and location of the house, but the cleaning staff needs to do more than just simple cosmetic cleaning. Very displeased overall.

This home has a lot of potential….Just needs a few repairs/items... door handles in kitchen and to go on deck area are all hanging not working. Felt very unsafe do to not locking/shutting properly. Need more mixing/prep/bowls. Hand mixer didn't work. Found out after making mashed potatoes ?? House has a lot A potential just need some upgrades.. wasn't a cheap stay !

Reviewer Comments: Great spot on the lake, great dock, Great deck area, house needed a thorough cleaning, very many spiderwebs and dust, House really only sleeps 10 adults. Kitchen well supplied with pots and pans, utensils, plates, etc. seating for dinner inside only for 11 people. By far, the dirtiest house we have ever stayed in at Deep Creek.

Also the length and steepness of the stairs to the lake would be difficult for young children and older folks. Overall it was a good experience but we had trouble with Taylor made responding to the trash situation that was overflowing and scattered by a bear.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental property staff were very nice and professional. I admit I'm disappointed we weren't offered a partial refund when we had no running water for an entire day because of a broken well. They brought a few jugs of drinking water but that doesn't help when it comes to showering, flushing toilets, cooking, or washing hands after taking care of two small kids including diaper changes. Given the cost of renting the property, I would have expected the appliances to be purchased in this century but all of them (except for the brand new scratch and dent refrigerator) were at least 20 years old. The house was damp and a little musty, and the dehumidifiers and Damp-Rid containers didn't help much.
