Dear Tania Our response of “you should have called us” was not intended as a fob-off. In fact, our Terms & Conditions are pretty clear and state in numerous places that if there are complaints or issues, they should be addressed during the stay so that we can mitigate the issue and make the stay more comfortable for you. There is central heating in the property and instructions on how to use it plus additional separate heaters. There was a frypan at the property but maybe you didn’t look hard enough or maybe the previous guest simply threw it out rather than bothering to clean it – that happens a lot! The coffee machine instructions were in the Guest Information Folder. The front door just needs to be locked with the key and then the key removed in order to make it childproof. Had you called we could have come out and showed you how to use the heaters, coffee machine, and front door lock and could have delivered a frypan. Other things such as the garage light, the flashing alarm light, and the musty cupboard we might not have been able to fix during the stay but we thank you for bringing them to our attention so we can and will address these with the owner for the comfort of future guests. It was so disheartening for us to receive this long list of complaints after the stay when we have a customer service team available 24/7 to address any issues that arise for our guests during the stay. If we still can’t address them without major disruption to you then of course we would consider compensation, but we were never given the opportunity. We hope future guests will read the long list of positive reviews at this property and know that should something not be quite right during their stay, we are available to fix it.

We are glad the property was suitable for your purpose and agree the location is perfect for family weddings in Robertson. It does offer a lovely mix of spaces for adults and children alike and is close to town but feels a world away from everything. HRS pride ourselves on fastidiously presenting our properties to provide guests with a comfortable and enjoyable experience and we are sincerely sorry for the issues you experienced during your stay. Unfortunately we were very much let down by our cleaners on this occasion and they have since been replaced. We are sorry you felt you had to clean the glasses and the BBQ yourself - had you have let us know this during your stay, we would have sent a housekeeper to the property as priority. The BBQ area has now had a high pressure wash and clean and is being regularly inspected to ensure it is “guest ready”. The coffee machine had been recently replaced and whilst we did not have the opportunity to update the instructions in the printed guest information folder prior to your arrival – the instruction manual was left on the kitchen bench for assistance - we’re so sorry you didn’t see that. The instructions have now been updated in the folder. The dishwasher at the property is a standard freestanding dishwasher that has always been suitable to accommodate 12 guests. Two towels are left on every bed with complimentary wrapped soap which is standard practice and we consider this enough but again, had you called us we could have given you access to the locked linen cupboard on site. In regards to our communication, we have to apologise but on both counts we had some technical issues. The move to a new booking system meant there was some confusion over the deposit and the message that was sent out asking about your stay was a system glitch causing it to go to all guests instead of just past guests. Joanne, we do understand this must have caused you quite a fright with the preparations for you son’s wedding well under way, and again we do sincerely apologise. We are glad both issues were sorted before your stay. We have been working hard on our communication process with our guests to ensure a seamless experience. Please know we have taken all your feedback on board and have actioned where appropriate. Holiday Rental Specialists, again apologises for the inconvenience that was caused to your group and we have sent you an email with a goodwill voucher and hope to welcome you back for a return stay with us some time in the future. For future guests, we hope that on balance with all the positive reviews below that you can see the merits of this property and the professional and responsive approach by the HRS staff.
