Great house for a gathering!

The house is so eclectic and was a great place to host our casual gathering. The owner worked with us on a number of things and he was great to work with! He was genuinely interested in making sure we had a successful event.

Scam - property was not available and didn’t even have power. Took my money though Had to book a hotel last minute at three times the costs - Fina Four Weekend

Beautiful old house on a very busy road.

We stayed here for our son’s graduation from Air Force BMT. The house is a beautiful old house with lots of charm. Wood floors, woodwork throughout. House is roomy with good bathrooms and space to visit with family. The house is on a VERY busy road, which is loud day and night and the neighborhood is sketchy. The property has security features, fence, locks etc. but the house looks out of place for the neighborhood because it is the only house maintained in the area. This property would be best for groups who are in the area to go downtown for fun on the river walk.

Honest Review July ‘23 — 3 nights Bachelor Party

The place itself overall was good, we made good use of it. I would say the pictures are a bit misleading as it seems they were either taken quite a while ago or had some good editing. A really big downside would be that the doors themselves are bad. You can’t lock all of the doors and the windows are always open with no locks which is a big risk to safety. We were 8 guys so we weren’t too afraid but for others I do want that to be clear. The location isn’t in a great part of SA but was near downtown so Ubers were cheap, if you’re looking for safety primarily this may not be the best but like I said 8 guys so we didn’t mind. The doorknob fell off on the second day and not sure if the owner is looking to fix those since they are doors from the original house. All of the doors were very similar in terms of hard to open/doorknobs were falling off. The place wasn’t as clean as the pictures made it look, I’ll give some grace though because the owner mentioned that his cleaning team was running late so I assume they weren’t able to do everything beforehand. Not sure if we’ll get a partial refund for that but we’ll see, if I can edit comments afterwards/add info I’ll let y’all know! Overall we had fun, poker table was pretty sick and outdoor area was nice but not even near the cleanliness as the pictures. Worst part was not being able to lock doors/windows especially because of the poor location. Owner was nice and communicative.

Good host, but could use some improvements.

I’m not really one to leave bad reviews. Adan was a nice host. I just have a few things I’d like to mention. Location is very convenient to downtown, but location did not feel safe. There were lots of bugs of all sorts. Mosquitos, gnats, and possibly even bed bugs. I’ll get back to the bed bugs part later. Upon arrival, front door was left ajar. I contacted him and it must’ve been due to the cleaning service. The door knobs needed some serious replacement. The doors look like they have been kicked or broken into at some point. Furniture did not match what was in the pictures of the listing. These also need some replacing if guests are to feel comfortable using the furniture in the home. Back to the bed bugs, a few of us had red marks every time we went to bed. The projector in the backyard was not functional to use which was a let down to me. I took a chance on the home despite the recent reviews.

San Antonio home

Backyard is the best backyard on the block. Best for having friends over and watching a game or a movie on the screen. The beds aren’t the most comfy or the ac doesn’t work the best but it’s an old old house so you can’t worry to much abojt those things but overall this was an excellent house!

Please find another rental

Let me start with the good. Communication with the owner wasn't bad. When I asked for a refund because we didn't feel safe we recieved a refund. I rented this home thinking it would be a fun place for my older boys. Days before I checked in I saw the Nov review and reached out to the home owner saying I had concerns. He said the issues were resolved and they hired a new cleaning service. We arrive early evening. The house is not in a good neighborhood. There is a huge for lease sign on the porch. Not alot of the furniture from the original pictures are in the home nor outside anymore. The house is dark and dreary. We stayed one night. We had a bottom sheet no top sheet and a thin blanket to sleep with. Dingy towels to bath and I had to pull hair out of the drain to shower. No kitchen towels no wash clothes. The floors were dirty and baseboards. The wood by the front door lock was splinter like the door had been kicked in. The door by the front bedroom going outside is simple locked with a slide latch. Worst part the windows in the back were broken. One was broken in the corner and taped the other completely broken out and replaced with cardboard. Again probably because it is not in a safe neighborhood. I reached out to the owner and he gave me a refund after I explained why we wanted to leave. He knew about the broken window before we arrived but did not disclose it. Said they had a 3 hr turn around before our stay no way to fix it. Had he told us and offered to cancel we would have canceled. In covid times I find it concerning as to whether they were able to safely clean and sanitize before we arrived if they had just 3 hrs. Nothing luxury about this home the windows are nailed shut. Listen the the review from Nov. I could go on because there is much more I could share but I think you the reader get the point. I did say if the owner provided a refund I would not write a review but we have stayed in multiple VRBO homes and we truly felt unsafe in this home. So I am worried about other families.

Looks nothing like the photos! RUN!

Well, where do I start lol communication was good and timely but everything else was horrible. Had to jump the fence to get to the door to get in. Huge for lease sign plastered on the front of the house Uber eats was concerned no one lived there because of it. The neighborhood was very sketchy. But the worst was the inside! Nothing like the photos! Plastic table cloths on all the tables to hide the furniture. Dishes were left out dirty dishes in the dishwasher nats flying around in the kitchen. No glasses to be found lights didn’t work in multiple rooms and old dirt everywhere. The house is just worn out and used up. It looks like it was painted and staged for the photos a very long time ago and never touched again. If it wasn’t so late when we arrived and it wasn’t thanksgiving eve, we would of gone to a hotel. They even had a pan to catch the water under the bathroom sink. And don’t get me stated on the back yard. Old car left covered in the drive way dirty and warn out furniture, plugs for the tv no where to be found, half the bar lights signs didn’t work, just a hot mess. Don’t book if you like clean and expect it to look like what you thought you booked. Oh and we left the next day.

Not for the summertime

This house is old and cute but it was very hot. We addressed with Adan and asked for box fans nothing came. TVs didn’t all work and we didn’t have remote to projection screen outside. There were a ton of fleas outside and inside the house. We were all bit up. He said unit replaced but maybe if he cooled house down before we got there that would’ve been nice. Our family was sweating inside. He mention to bring remote next morning seems like he waited for us to leave and then came in with all our belongings unattended didn’t like that. Nor did my husband like that. So he either lives really close or watches you on camera. Cute place. First night was bad. No working tv super hot and no projection screen and flea bite galore.

Great place for big groups, very clean, nice amenities overall

The property was very clean. We appreciated all the big TVs set up in the rooms. Lots of beds (and a couch) to sleep and even lots of space for airbeds for anybody who didn't want to share a bed. Awesome big table for playing games, and an awesome back patio area with a giant projector. Adan was immediately responsive when needed which was great. Only flaws I have: 1) Location is only okay. The neighborhood doesn't seem dangerous or anything, but it doesn't seem great either. House is on the main road though so I never felt in danger or anything like that. It was only a 7 minute ride to the convention center so great as far as distance from downtown. 2) Air conditioner worked fine eventually, but it wasn't the most powerful so the first day was somewhat warm. This might have been made worse by all the windows being left open before we got there, and then the A/C struggling to get rid of the humidity and heat the rest of the day. All bedrooms have fans though so that helped a lot. 3) Not the most sound proof house. It was fine for us, but fire trucks going by in the morning woke us up at one point. Overall though, we were very happy with the house and it was a great place for our big group.

Thanksgiving vacation house

Our stay was nothing but perfect. The kids had tons of fun in the back yard and the kitchen was perfect for all the family to get a thanksgiving dinner done. I have no complains about our stay our family really enjoy it.

Beautiful home and awesome patio!

Beautiful home and amazing patio. Area was not the best. Close to downtown and other activities, just not a good area of town. The check-in process was very easy. The doors/gates with lock codes was a great addition! The only issue we had is it wasn’t very clean when we arrived. All in all, a great stay!

Very beautiful, and spacious! Great place to Entertain.

This house was beyond amazing. I loved the ambience of it. It was very Chic and modern yet was built in the 1920s. I especially like the high ceilings. It was very well renovated, very spacious and the beds were soo comfortable. The backyard is where we spent most of our time, it was truly a pleasure. A backyard paradise indeed. We watched a few movies on the projector and turned on the fire pit when it got a little chilly. I can't wait to book again when we have another family gathering. The location was also very convenient, down town is just over the bridge no more than 3 mins away.
