Dear Tiffany, we are very sorry that you encountered a problem during your check-in. We take cleanliness and condition of our home very seriously. The guest who checked out in the morning of your arrival, had stayed at the property for a month, and didn't leave it in a great condition (to say the least), that's when we noticed a few cockroaches. We mitigated the issue with traps and spraying, and called our pest control services immediately. That's why I reached out to you asking your permission to enter the house for a treatment. We have numerous 5 star reviews, and, obviously, this is not an ongoing problem. As to the description of the area... even though some homes might not look tidy from the outside, it is a very safe neighborhood, located across the street from a prestigious community of Park Shore, and in the middle of Naples in close proximity to everything it has to offer. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. We don't have a property management, and we address any issues ourselves, as soon as we possibly can, and by now it has been taking care of. We wish our pest control service could have made it there before you arrived, but it was too short of a notice, as prior guest check-out on the same day.

Dear Ertha, thank you so much for mentioning that our house was very nice and comfortable, we take pride in our property and strive to provide great accommodation to our guests. You booked an accommodation in Naples, FL and we fulfilled our service to you. Our house had no damage from the hurricane and it is in perfect condition. You accused us of lying to you and I wish I could attach a screenshot of our correspondence. You wanted "to find out if the home made it through the storm and if the area is still not clear". My response was "our home had no damage at all and the area is clear for access to the home. Many restaurants and shops are already back in business". No one said everything was open as usual. Shame on you to say you were lied to, at least read our conversation first. We never said anything about the beaches. We did not lie to you about anything. Our guests come here for work, to see their family and fiends, to simply enjoy the sunshine, etc. It is not our concern what your plans are for your stay and what activities you plan to do. We simply provide accommodation. If the beach or your favorite restaurant is closed, it is not our fault. You won't call an airline and demand a refund for your flight to Florida because you can't have access to the beach there... No hotel that is fully operational would cancel and refund your non-refundable reservation only because there was a hurricane a month ago and some places are still closed... As a matter of fact, Ian was here on the 28th and it was already clear that Naples was on its way, you could have reached out to cancel your reservation then and you could have received a full refund. Yet you decided to wait and cancel on October 3rd when per our policy you could have received 50% refund. You decided to keep your reservation and now you wrote a nasty review that has nothing to do with the house and our service. More than that, when you booked your stay, you were offered a travel insurance which would have covered the cost of your trip in case of a natural disaster. You decided not to purchase it and wanted us to pay for your cancellation. Yes, this house is our bread and butter, our only source of income, it costs to maintain it, pay taxes, insurance, etc. We can't be cancelling reservations only because you think you won't have things to do in Naples. What if you came and it was raining all weekend, would you ask for a refund? Also, how would you feel if we had canceled your reservation 3 weeks prior to your arrival, and you would have had to look for another place and nothing was available? You booked your stay and we reserved those days for you. We provided a clean and comfortable home for you. Many people stayed at our place after Ian and raved about Naples, they were surprised that so many restaurants and shops were already back in business (Venetian Village, Mercato, downtown Naples, Waterside Shops, the zoo, Botanical Garden, you name it). If you were disappointed in your trip, it is definitely not our fault.

Thank you for your feedback, John. If our house deserved a 3 star review, then you wouldn't have booked your stay for the next year. We provide photos of every room in the house, there is no surprise that we don't have armchairs in the formal living room, we leave space there for the children to play and no one ever complained that it was "empty". Our neighbor keeps his RV next to his house, but our home is nowhere near a "trailer park". It is a safe area in the middle of Naples, right across the street from a multi-million dollar neighborhood of Park Shore. Again, thank you for your input.
