Amazing Condo That Was Perfect For Our Family

This is our second time staying at this condo, and we absolutely love it! The cleanliness and suitability was perfect for accommodating our family. It's also conveniently located near town which added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. I would 100% recommend this condo to all who are seeking an amazing getaway in Port A!

Perfect Labor Day Weekend

Loved the property and the access to the beach. The condo was so clean and well stocked. The primary sweet was HUGE! Not all of our proposed guests were able to come, but we used one other bedroom and heard no complaints. The only downside was that check out was at 11 on Monday and by 10:30 our door code no longer worked. Luckily my husband was still inside so we could finish packing the car. Would 100% stay here again.

nice location, newly remodeled, clean, good a/c. only 2 clothes hangers total were furnished with all closets. don't plan on hanging clothes up. may be some remodeling in progress.

Very nice but had issues

This property is in a great location. Beautiful pool that’s shaded in the afternoons and beach just a short way down the boardwalk. Unit was super clean and large with most everything we needed. Kids and adults alike had a fun time. But when we checked in Friday there was a roofing crew working outside our patio and they had blocked some of the pool area for safety which was understandable. Over the weekend we fished at least 4 screws out of the pool when my grandson stepped on them puncturing both his big toes. Painful and not acceptable. We did not know how to contact the onsite representative and the gate code for the pool and boardwalk was not posted in our unit. We had to get it from other guests. The patio doors were locked with no instructions and when I called the Port A Escapes #, the sent a very nice maintenance man who showed us the counterintuitive method. Also suggest more bath towels be provided. There were 2 per bathroom for a 3 night stay.

Family Beach Trip

We love staying at the Grand Caribbean when we visit Port A, and we really enjoyed staying in this condo. The condo was extremely clean and was well equipped. It had the perfect layout and configurations to accommodate our family comfortability. The property was very well kept, the pool was clean as well as the boardwalk. Great place to stay!!! The only downside was the balcony door was extremely hard to open and lock, but that didn't bother us too much. I can't wait for another trip, and I will be booking this condo in the future.

Engagement celebration

A great beach trip!

Very comfortable beds, AC was fine, Dining table had seats for our large group. Pool was clean and refreshing. Beach was quickly accessible via boardwalk. Management quickly responsive to any problem or question. Would definitely stay here again!

This unit was probably the most well stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen, it was so comfortable, and very clean! We love the pool and the amazing boardwalk to the beach. The bedrooms were big and the bathrooms were gorgeous! Absolutely coming back!

Always a Grand Time

Due to the hurricane they allowed us to change our dates for any day of our choosing as long as the condo wasn’t already booked for no extra charge and we can’t even say how much that was appreciated, as coming to Port A has been tradition for over 20 years!! It’s always very well kept and the pool and boardwalk are the best thing about it as it is so convenient to walk right to the beach every day!The rental always has the basic amenities and we always feel right at home here. Very family friendly

Remodeling needs to be finished.

The unit is nice and clean. The location is in a really good area in Port A. However the unit could use some work. There were some pretty large cracks in the glass doors on the pool side of the unit. There are also old school vertical blinds on the back side of the unit that were missing panels. Normally I don’t mention sheets, but these need to be upgraded throughout. The owners have made some nice upgrades (new flooring), but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done for the prices being charged for this unit.

Too many calls for repair

Place great. The owner had lovely things ... I.e. pot,, pans, dishes, etc... However, they had way too many personal items - bicycle, high chair, tent, wagon..... The refrigerator wasn’t working when we arrived, and they were never able to fix the ice maker. The disposal was hit or miss. We lost power in 1 room for a while and the cable was less than reliable. I know this list sounds like we were unhappy, but, we really did enjoy our stay, just laying out our true experience.

Fantastic Stay

Our family of 5 had a very enjoyable stay. The location was perfect with very short walk over the dunes to the beach. We enjoyed the pool with tables and shade when we had too much sun. Very friendly neighbors and staff. Very, very quiet. We never heard others while in the unit. . The property was spotless. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essential utensils. We were provided with more than enough paper towels, dish soap, and toilet paper for our 4 night stay. Coffee maker is a traditional 12 cup. Beds are all very comfy. The fold out couch is a standard, thin mattress fold out, so put the littles on that one. The unit has been updated and is very nice. Watch the glass doors - it appeared that someone allowed them to slam and the glass was broken. We are grateful for our stay and would absolutely stay again.

Very few condos on the property and most of the other buildings were father away, allowing you lots of room to stretch out on the beach. Loved it! The boardwalk is not as long as it looks in the pictures. The condo is very spacious. I loved drinking my coffee on the patio and watching the sunrise every morning. The only recommendation I would make it to add a lock to the top of the door. The door is similar to a hotel door, you simply turn the handle and it opens. Our 4-year old took off once. I would add a sliding lock or hinge - something simple. We will be back for sure!

Good place but needs some TLC

This property has a good layout and accommodated my family and friends as far as space. We did have a few issues in which the owners need to correct. The A/C unit was not working when we arrived and had to be fixed which took a full day, the outside balcony light did not work and was not fixed after I requested to get it fixed, the front door was not secure when we got to the condo but it was fixed upon my request ( did not take em but about an 2 hours to fix the door), the sink in the front bathroom did not drain well and the sleeper sofa was broken but we were able to get it to function enough for one of the kids to sleep on. Over all we had a good stay but this unit does need some TLC and a few things looked into and corrected.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There’s lots of room, beds are comfy. Kitchen is well-appointed and nice and has a great pantry. Good location as far as being close to the beach - that was our priority.Our problem was mostly with the doors. There’s STILL a crack in the master patio door - I assumed it would have been fixed by now. The main patio door is VERY hard to close without slamming. I have five kids ranging 14-21, and we all had trouble. My husband had to close the door each time bc you need strength and gentleness. It’s ridiculous. Also, there are notes ab not tearing up the blinds but they are cheap and flimsy and one panel was missing in master. I was dumb and didn’t realize this was a first-floor rental. The lights from the pool shone right into the master at night and they’re kind of bright. Hard to block them out with the ****** blinds. Also the master bath has been recently updated but water pressure isn’t great and it won’t spray all the way to the back of the shower. Overall the unit has good bones but needs some work.

Relaxing beach trip

In general, a great condo at a great location that we would definitely rebook in the future. There were several minor issues that I would check on prior to another visit, but positives are: very comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, handy large pantry, conveniently close to pool, QUIET, even though it is a condo and close to pool, no mosquitos due to constant breeze, well-maintained boardwalk (lit at night). Outdoor shower and hose on boardwalk, broad clean uncrowded (*usually) beach, AC, TV, wifi work great, THREE bathrooms, water pressure great, except for one shower. Code access made check-in easy! There were a few boogie boards available for use, which was much appreciated. Here were the negatives: There is NO SIGN at all for Grand Caribbean on the road. None. GPS does work to find the turn off. Look for the yellow building. Sliding door from master BR to patio does not open. Sliding door from FR opens and closes, but cannot lock it. FRAMED sign on kitchen’s bar near sink says to please only use Dawn in sink (looks like copper sink), but there is a new bottle of Palmolive soap provided. Ice maker does not work; found ice cube trays in cabinet day 4 & left them inside freezer. No fly swatter. Had two pesky flies on arrival. Sink in BR on right as enter condo drains very slowly. Management volunteered to send someone while we were there. I opted not to have handyman, and assume it will be fixed day we move out. There was a broken pane of glass low on FR patio door (outer pane of double pane glass);it appeared stable. Informed management. Ceiling fan on BR to left as you enter had a 3-light fixture below fan that rocked like crazy and the pull chain clinked against the glass surround of a bulb. It was annoying enough that we removed chain while we were there and replaced the morning we left. (If fan is on low speed, there is no rocking or clinking) Water pressure in showers fine except that shower head in BR on right as you enter the unit was a large rain shower head which gave a nice gentle rain shower effect, but would be completely inadequate to rinse shampoo out of hair. M-Fri am, very few people on beach. Weekend (first week Aug) tons of people on beach. Cars and trucks parked to vision's limit. As cars drive on public beaches in TX, I suspect beach will be crowded every weekend all over island, but distance of these condos from town should give it an advantage.

No privacy because blinds were broken and let it way too much light. Same with other bedrooms very bright in there. Very hard to sleep with that much light in room. Dining table is broken and wobbly. Seating is difficult at the table.
