Excellent property close to the water. Cottage is clean, comfortable and well maintained. It shows the host is a proud owner of a great place.

Great getaway on Higgins Lake!

The cottage was cleanly, cute and just right for a summer weekend up north. We loved the extra thoughtfulness of having a little cooler to use, bug spray, spices, etc. Super close to the water and a nice dock to hang on. I’d recommend to anyone and definitely stay again!

Gorgeous place, comfortable beds, amazing location. Host very helpful. Decorations were super cute. Fast Wi-Fi making it easy to combine work and vacation. Loved the fully usable kitchen.

What a great cabin! Michelle was wonderful to work with. The decor was very charming!

Love this cabin! Decor is very charming! They really did a great job having everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The beds are very comfortable.... I slept like a baby. Can’t wait to take my husband and I’m looking forward to our next sister retreat!

Love this cottage!

This is, without a doubt, the cleanest rental property we have ever experienced. Totally welcoming, very nicely outfitted modern kitchen and open floor plan, comfortable furniture, great hot water, literally steps from your lake access with a great dock and that crystal clear Higgins Lake water, cool fire pit, and much more. Easy communications with helpful polite owners. We recommend this darling 2-bedroom cottage whole-heartedly, and would be delighted to stay here again. Thank you, Michelle and Bryan.

Charming Home Away from Home

Communication, check in and check out was phenomenal. It was perfect, relaxing and everything needed for a relaxing weekend away. All the details were addressed, and everything was simple and perfect. There were so many ways to enjoy your vacation in this place, for any type of vacation you are looking for. It was definitely versatile and perfect place to reset!

Great cottage!

The Firefly is a great cottage! It was very clean, cutely decorated and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The beds were comfortable, even the roll away bed! The lake access at the end of the street was perfect for swimming and launching the kayaks we brought. We also enjoyed the Roscommon farmers market on Saturday and the train museum. Communication with Michelle was fantastic and we would definitely stay here again!

Visit with family and friends in Michigan

This property was very easy to book, communication was excellent and check in was extremely easy. The cottage was extremely clean which was so appreciated. The beds were comfy, plenty of linens, and kitchen was well stocked. We loved being able to see the lake from the front deck and we really enjoyed the fire pit on the back patio. Thank you for hosting us at your cottage, we really enjoyed our stay and would have spent extra time there if possible!

The cleanest, most well done VRBO I have ever stayed in.

WHAT A GEM! If you are looking for a place in Higgins lake this is it! Booking and check in was a breeze. Everything was spotless and welcoming upon arrival. Everything we needed was there but it didn’t feel at all cluttered. The beds were very comfy...even the roll away! Location was spot on with easy access to the water and a nice quiet road for walks and bike rides. I could go on and on...the firefly cottage stole our hearts!

Awesome location and amenities

A great place with access to the lake about a block away! Very clean and the main living area was modern and comfortable. A great place for a few people to hang out if the weather is rainy. The best part though is when the weather is nice. There is a back yard with plenty of space to hang out or to prep for heading to the lake. Between the driveway and the garage there's plenty of room to organize the water toys for kids or adults. Beds are super comfortable too.

The Perfect Getaway Cottage

The firefly cottage is the perfect place for a summertime getaway to the lake. The house is amazing and fully stocked and appointed. This isn’t your normal VRBO that always seems to be missing a key item for cooking dinner, etc - if you need something, it’s available in this house. Add in the bikes and fire pit outside for use and whatever you want to do while here, you’ve got. The location is literally steps away from a public dock on Higgins, making it possible to boat all morning and make a quick stop back to the house to grab lunch and get back out on the lake for more fun. Can’t recommend enough and would absolutely come back and stay again. Book this place, you will not be disappointed.

Listing is just as described. Pros: Easy check-in, cute decor, clear instructions, comfy beds, nice linens, well-equipped kitchen, bicycles for use, wood-burning fire pit, nice washer/dryer, within 5 miles of South Higgins State Beach, quiet neighborhood. Dock nearby for kayaking. Cons: Exterior patios needed cleaning, including fire pit ashes. Lighting in kitchen could be brighter. Garbage disposal would be handy. Charcoal grill, not gas, takes preplanning. Would be fun to have a collection of board games. This is a great, affordable option at South Higgins Lake. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Hi Amy - so sorry the patios were not cleaned off. We do have weekly outdoor maintenance but it must have fallen between stays and not right before your arrival. I will make a note and ask the indoor cleaning gals to let me know each time if the outdoor area needs immediate attention. We do have Jenga, Connect Four, Backgammon and a couple of decks of cards in the entertainment console but I will see about some classic board games as well! Glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise!

Lovely cottage

Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. Only 20 minutes from Grayling, Roscommon, or Houghton Lake. Nice, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much!

A very lovely peaceful place. Great place to visit nearby places like Hartwick Pines and Mackinaw Island. The state parks are very nice too. The beds and accessories in the rental are very nice

Higgins Lake 2022- Awesome

Our stay at the Firefly cottage was excellent!! It felt more like a home than a cabin. The lake is beautiful and clear and the sand is white and soft. We rented a boat near by and enjoyed every minute. Michelle and Bryan are excellent host and very easy to communicate with. Can't wait to come back.!!

Cozy Cottage

The cottage was just right for a week long vacation for my elderly parents. Everything needed from bikes, pans, linens, wifi, firepit, and washer/dryer were all conveniences just like home that made their stay very comfortable. There is a nearby beach available to watch the boats and sunsets. Owner Michelle was easy to get a hold of and answered all our questions quickly. Would encourage all who need a small, cozy cabin, with everything you need to make your stay restful to consider the Firefly Cottage.

Higgins Lake vacation

This home isvery clean and we loved how it was decorated with a the Higgins Lake theme . The kitchen has a very nice stove, cookware and beautiful dishes. We enjoyed watching movies, riding bikes and fishing on Higgins Lake. Very nice neighborhood! Everything you could want in a home by the lake. We loved staying here and would stay again.
