Wonderful stay in Lenno

We had a fantastic experience in Lenno at this property. Perfect size for a couple or 4 people with a comfortable place, extremely clean and well kept. Barrie and Julie offered to get us wine and some food from the market since we were getting in after the market closed, so we had snacks and breakfast ready to go. Throughout the stay Barrie and Julie helped us with recommendations, reservations and making sure our stay was great. Lenno was a perfect location to explore all of Lake Como, we were able to walk around town and the area as well as drive around the lake on a windy day, and this flat has parking available. Highly recommend

Couldn’t be better.

This property was perfect. It is 5 min. from the grocery for fresh bread and supplies, 10-15 to the ferry or restaurants, and the 14 Km Green Path taking you up and down the coast is just 20 feet out the back door. The view from the deck is exactly as pictured. It is filled with sunshine in the morning for coffee and sunrise and shaded in the evening for wine and cheese. The apartment is spacious, sparkling clean, water is hot and bed is perfect. It was a glorious week and a great memory.

The perfect spot.

We really enjoyed our stay here here in Lenno, the home is close to all amenities including the ferry stop, some excellent restaurants and pizzeria and the Sigma Supermarket (3 minutes by foot) The little beach in front of the home we had completely to ourselves-it's a real, hidden gem! The home is exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean and with a view we never got tired of from the balcony and as the ferry stop is close by we parked our car up at the home for the stay. Lenno, we think, is the perfect location as easy to reach more touristy locations not forgetting the lovely lake front which we enjoyed an afternoon's walk and many an ice cream. A special thank you to Julie and Barrie whose invaluable tips and local insights on where to visit (and where to wine and dine like an italian) ensured we settled in from the minute we arrived. We will definitely recommend the home to our friends and hope to return next year.

Lenno

On a very busy road but set back and traffic noise inaudible from flat which faces other way. Cobbled pathway to centre of Lenno (delightful small town away from road and wonderful views). I found walk challenging but I am partiually disabled. Lakes and mountains stunning but exploreation by ferry a bit difficult sometimes as many, many tourists even in late Sept. Bellagio in particular was heaving. Still, a good holiday and flat better than on 1st sight.

Perfect views over Lake Como

The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, light and airy. The views from the living room and the lovely balcony over the lake were magnificent. The bedrooms were comfortable and large. The wardrobes were incredibly tall however!! A ladder would have been useful to hang up clothes!!! Just a small design fault, not really a complaint! These apartments are situated on the busy main road which would be fine for guests with a car. For those of us on foot the walk into Lenno was sometimes hazardous though you can skip the road and take the Greenway path. The owner, Julie, went out of her way to be helpful and could always be contacted. She made us feel very welcome - thank you!

Schönes Apartment mit perfekter Aussicht auf den See

Die Aussicht vom Balkon aus über die Gärten auf den See ist atemberaubend. Obschon das Haus an einer viel befahrenen Strasse liegt, bietet es auf der Seeseite viel Ruhe und Entspannung. Die Küche im hellen Wohnraum ist sehr geräumig und verfügt über die meisten der notwendigen Utensilien sowie über einen grossen Kühlschrank und einen Tiefkühler. Auch Zimmer und Bad sind ansprechend und vergleichsweise modern gestaltet. Einziger Wermutstropfen war, dass es mit einem Kinderwagen nicht ganz einfach ist, über die befahrene Strasse zu kommen, da keine Gehsteige vorhanden sind. Der vorgeschlagene Umweg um das Haus herum ist wegen Treppen und Kopfsteinpflaster nicht für jeden Kinderwagen geeignet. Zugänge zum See finden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, sind jedoch schmal und klein und wie fast überall am See mit Kies. Seeseitig beim Zufluss direkt neben der Villa Balbiano gibt es jedoch einen ansprechenden Strandabschnitt, der in 5Min zu Fuss erreichbar ist. In Gehdistanz finden sich zudem gleich 2 Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und den Dorfkern mit schöner Strandpromenade ist in 15 Minuten zu erreichen.

Schönes Appartment in sehr guter Lage

Beautiful apartment in magical place

Lenno is a lovely small town conveniently located on west side of lake. Easy to get around with access to swimming, ferries and good restaurants. Not too busy but had everything we wanted. Apartment is really nice, airy and well appointed. Owners were lovely to deal with, helpful with recommendations and even brought us a welcome bottle of wine. Our only issue was that it is close to the road and the front bedroom was noisy from trucks and motorcycles at night and in the morning.

Great location with amazing views!

We loved our time in Lenno it was so central to all the great areas to sightsee. We loved the apartment, the views from our balcony were breathtaking and the beds were very comfy. We have 2 kids they are 14yrs & 11yrs old and they thoroughly enjoyed our Italian adventure. Barrie and Julie were so helpful advising us on best places to visit so that we got the most out of our trip. We will definitely be back!

Ferienwohnung mit grandioser Aussicht auf den See

Gut eingerichtete Wohnung mit traumhaftem Blick auf den Comer See. Schöner möblierter Balkon, alles Notwendige für den Urlaub vorhanden. Vermieter sehr nett und hilfsbereit, mit vielen Tipps für Ausflüge. Die Wohnung liegt in Lenno, einem Ort, in dem man nicht auf ein Auto angewiesen ist. Restaurants, Cafés, Supermarkt, Badestrände sind alle in 10-15 min zu Fuß zu erreichen, ebenfalls die Bootsanlegestelle für Touren zu anderen Örtchen am See. Kleiner Abzug für die Tatsache, dass das Elternschlafzimmer zur viel befahrenen Hauptstraße liegt.

Nice, clean apartment with fantastic views

The flat is very nicely furnished, very clean and has very comfortable beds. The view from the balcony over the lake is absolutely stunning. It is quite possible to just sit there at breakfast time forgetting your plans for the day. It is just a two-minute walk from the flat to the lake, so you can go swimming even before breakfast from a tiny beach. A walk to Lenno's centre complete with restaurants, cafes, lido and pier is just a pleasant 10-15 minute stroll along the "greenway del lago". We never used the car during our stay but did everything on foot or by boat. Very relaxing. One thing to consider though: the flat is on the busy main road so it can become a little loud in the master bedroom, even at night.

Excellent location

The apartment is as described with a fantastic view overlooking the lake. The apartment is also close to a good supermarket, the village centre, bus route and the ferry. Lenno is a lovely quiet village, which was a joy to return to from the more touristy places. Barrie and Julie were excellent hosts who responded to all questions promptly and also helped with food on arrival when our flight was delayed when we arrived quite late. Lovely location would definitely recommend.

Beautiful apartment with beautiful view.

The apartment is very comfortable with everything you need and more. Incredibly clean. We spent most of the week on the terrace just enjoying the beautiful view. The apartment is in a convenient location. Within walking distance to shops, cafes, the Villa Balbianello and the ferry. It is exactly what an Italian vacation home should be.

Breathe taking

Beautiful apartment with a breathe taking view from the balcony. Barry and Julie went out of their way to help, including getting some shopping ready for us when we arrived. I was a bit concerned when we were told there was no air conditioning but found later that it was not needed as there is a lovely breeze coming in from the lake. You can get the "dotto" train from Lenno to Menagio which runs along side of the lake. Lovely market on Tuesdays in the village square. All in all a fabulous holiday in an amazing apartment.

Relaxing time on the lake

We stayed here as part of a winter tour of the lake and were delighted with our choice of accommodation. The home was ideal for our needs as the ferry and bus services are within walking distance of the restaurants and bars. There is also a supermarket just a few minutes walk from the home. Other villages like Menaggio and Bellagio were pretty to visit but we felt Lenno boasted the prettiest lake front promenade and was not nearly as touristy (we only heard italian accents in Lenno as opposed to american ones in Bellagio for example) We will miss waking up to the views looking out from the balcony and the magic of the lake from the living room from dawn to dusk. A big thank you to Barrie who oversaw the booking and met us on arrival. We booked directly with the owners and not via the site and saved over £100 on the stay! We would not hesitate to book this home and have recommended the home to friends.

Excellent apartment in a great location

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday based in this great apartment in Lenno. The view of the lake is not exaggerated, it really is stunning. We won't forget the chilled mornings and evenings sitting on the balcony taking in the view with either a coffee or glass of wine in hand :) Inside, the apartment is lovely - nicely furnished with everything you need for self catering (although we tended to eat out most nights as we were wanting to indulge!). One of the best things about this apartment was its location. We had decided not to hire a car as we're both a little nervous driving abroad and didn't fancy the hassle. It took me a while to find a place that was in easy walking distance to all of the following; mini markets, restaurants & cafes, bars, places to swim and ferry & bus stop. The apartment couldn't be better placed for all of the above. It's even in easy walking distance to two of the most famous villas on the lake; Balbianello and Balbiano (which neither of us knew before booking so this was a bonus!). We spent time visiting Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and Argegno as well as chilling out at the various lidos and beaches. A few tips: 1. The San Giorgio hotel at the end of the promenade in Lenno has a fantastic garden with an amazing lake view, great swimming and very comfy sunbeds! The hotel is family run and very friendly. Non-residents are welcome to take advantage of the garden and sunbeds as long as you buy some drinks throughout the day. They even stored our luggage for us after we'd checked out and had some hours to kill :) 2. A visit to the Villa Monastero gardens in Varenna is an absolute must. The peaceful serenity of the gardens towards the early evening and the panoramic view of the lake was one of the highlights of our holiday. Afterwards we had a lovely meal at a restaurant called 'Al Prato' in a small and peaceful square just set back from the lake front - highly recommended. Lovely food and a friendly and professional service. Thanks to Barrie and Julie for being extremely accommodating before and during our stay. Barrie went out of his way to pick us up from Argegno on our arrival when he found out we were heading to a ferry stop with a longer walk than we'd realised (this saved us from a great deal of exertion from an already quite long journey from Venice!). On the way we were provided with lots of very useful tips and advice on the local area. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we hope to return one day.

Lovely apartment in great location

Fantastic holiday in this most beautiful part of the world! Lenno is a great place to stay - really convenient with the ferry 10 mins walk from the apartment (saves using the car all the time if you hire one!), a supermarket only a couple of mins walk up the road (we didn't notice too many supermarkets in the area so this was a real bonus!) and plenty of choice of restaurants to stroll to in the evenings (again, saves needing the car so everyone can have a drink!). Great that the apartment has its own secure parking. Plenty to see & do - we would recommend the kayaking from Ossuccio - one of the highlights of our trip, especially viewing Villa del Balbianello from the water. The guy at the marina was really helpful, friendly and spoke really great English! And it was cheap - 10 Euros (about £8) for a double kayak for 1 hour which is partly why we did it twice! Don't forget to take your ID though! Great day out in Milan - drove to & parked in Como, then an hour's train ride from there (costing about £8 per adult for a return ticket). One word of warning – the weather can change very quickly! You might well get some rain (and particularly thunderstorms!), though we did have wonderful sunshine as well - just be prepared for anything! All in all though, a lovely apartment and a great base for a wonderful holiday – thank you Julie & Barrie!

Great apartment with fantastic views of Lake Como

The owners Barrie and Julie were fantastic even before we had arrived - they booked a restaurant for us, as it was a busy holiday weekend, and arranged for local food to be in the apartment. Then on arrival we were met by Barrie, who went out of his way to help after we left a bag on the bus and he drove me around the lake to retrieve it! The apartment has an amazing view of the lake, is well equipped and perfect for a family of 4. We spent one week here using public transport. It's a short walk down to Lenno, where you can get the ferry across to Bellagio and Villa Carlotta. Family highlights were kayaking from Ossuccio around Sala Comacina, a trip around the gardens and house of Villa del Balbianello, and walking up to the Sacri Monti above Lenno. The supermarket was 5 minute walk from the apartment. Local restaurants were friendly and ice creams great. We will definitely go back!

Place in Paradise

Immaculate Estate. Breathtaking views from the lake. Close to Lake & beach. 2nd Cloakroom. Big bathrooms, so you can have spacious showers and spend some time in the bath tub. Walking distance to the shops. Regarding the lake, breathtaking view. Good to eat and drink in the bistros around the lake. The Lake is huge, with many little Italian picturesque villages to visit. The top one is Bellagio, which is at the tip of were the lake divides into a two way leg of the lake. Como has an impressive medieval city center, with many good shops and cafe´s to wine. Around the region there are several winiries which you can visit and have tours of wine making. Franciacorta and Valtallina were two which we visited and had top reception. This region in Italy is very accommodating, picturesque. The tips and experience of Barrie and Julie are really amazing. They have become locals of the lake with their knowledge and passion for the area and Italian culture. The Real Estate properties that they have to rent are second to none. We were expecting a good apartment, however we had an excellent one in which will makes us visit the Lake more times and enjoy this romantic Italian piece of paradise. Simply a top high end destination.

Stunning holiday

What an amazing place to stay. We had all the luxuries we needed to feel right at home in the most beautiful place on earth. Comfort and super location. What more could you want? Barry and Julie also went out of their way to make us feel welcome, recommended great local hang outs and wineries. We were able to explore the area and relax, just fantastic!

By staying here with us we can recommend where to eat with the locals, hire a boat at the most competitive cost, show you the hidden places with the locals shop from finding the freshest baked bread to the best markets to the trattoria's where the Italian's dine away from the tourists or the very best bar's where the tastiest snacks keep coming with the drink's! If you need to hire a scooter or cycle, find the best hiking routes, or pathways around the lake for scenic walks we will point you in the right direction.

The photos and views speak for themselves. The views and proximity to the lake is a real attraction for our guests. Plus the shingle “hidden“ beach located just two minutes walk from the home to relax, sunbathe and take a dip in the lake makes this home popular for returning guests, as the beach is rarely inhabitated it is the next best thing to enjoying an almost private beach! The home is located modern and comfortable living plus two private balconies.
Easy secure parking and just a walk down to all amenities from restaurants and bars to ferry to access the whole lake and supermarket. Villa Balbianello, scene of Casino Royale 007, and Star Wars is also located here in the village within walking distance of the property as well as he golden sand beach at Lido di Lenno.
