Tranquility at its finest

This property is absolutely stunning and peaceful. My wife and I booked for our anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for. A quiet, peaceful Tuscan countryside retreat. The apartment was clean and comfortable and the view absolutely stunning. Mike was an amazing host who provided all the information we needed for an amazing stay!

This may sound a bit exaggerated, but I assure you it isn't. We have been to Tuscany on a few occasions, but this apartment was the most beautiful, tranquil and well-equipped property that we have stayed in. The apartment is very comfortable and relaxing, spacious and airy, a functioning kitchen (which isn't always the case in rental properties) well-tended, colourful gardens, a lovely pool and wonderful views. Mike's advice to stock up enroute at the Conad supermarket is worth following, so that you don't have to drive to Gambassi Carrefour too often (although it is a friendly store). There are restaurants of various levels in the area, and we ate well at all those we visited. We stayed for two weeks, and I wish it had been three.

Fantastic property away from crowds

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The owner was very nice and instructions were very easy to follow Mike was very quick to respond with any questions I had. This property is only 25 min from San Gimignano highly recommend this property.

Lovely week in Tuscany

Very well maintained property with comprehensive directions supplied. Lovely location looking towards San Gimignano. Air conditioned too and a lovely pool to cool down in. Went there for our silver wedding anniversary and it was well positioned to access Siena, Florence and other villages nearby. Thoroughly recommended.

This property did not disappoint. The rooms were very clean. The views were spectacular, the amenities were exactly as advertised, and the host, Mike, was very good to communicate with. If we had a question or concern he was quick to respond and resolve our situation. I would highly recommend this property.

Quiet spot with wonderful views in the countryside.

Lovely, quiet spot to stay. Enjoyed the pool and wonderful views. Great communication and quick responses from our host. Excellent information provided prior to our arrival and as well once we arrived. Air conditioning in the bedrooms made sleeping easy in the hot heat while there. Very clean, comfortable furniture and beds and the kitchen is very well stocked. If you want to get out of the big cities and stay in Tuscany this is an excellent base and the travel out to the various towns are easy drives. Highly recommend.

Heart of Tuscany

Centrally located between Siena, Pisa, Florence and the Mediterranean Sea. Nearby is the beautiful San Gimignano. Great view from the house to Volterra over the hills of Tuscany. Very quiet place to relax with fantastic shared swimming pool. Correspondence with the owner Mike was nice and uncomplicated. We can highly recommend this place.

Mike just back from your apartment, brilliant!, your directions were excellent as was the complimentary ‘welcome pack’. Took your advice and took the train to Florence and had a fab day also visited San Gimignano, it’s towers are amazing. The views from your apartment are stunning and we were very comfortable, liked the free Wi-Fi, highly recommended.

Amazing views of rural Tuscany!

This beautiful apartment is located between San Giminiano and Volterra. Count an hour before you reach Sienna and Florence. If you have children, the pool will be a major plus considering the heat of the Tuscan summer. Our host Mike has plenty of tips to share with his guests and be sure to follow his advice when it comes to fine dining!

Quiet, rural location

Beautiful, quiet, rural location. Well kept & equipped accommodation. Nice pool. Great to explore places such as San Gimignano & Volterra. Mike, the owner, is very friendly, communicative & helpful. Cons for us as a young family: a little bit isolated, the pool being a uniform depth wasn’t ideal for really little ones. I think it’s best suited for older couples & families. Overall, very satisfied.

Fantastic!

If you are looking for a place in the stunning Tuscan countryside, this fits the bill nicely! A car is required and you have to travel about 3kms down a gravel road but once you are there, it is outstanding! The peace, the quiet, the beautiful rolling hills. Mike is an excellent host, is responsive and provides all the information you need to have a fantastic visit. The apartment is on the second floor so there are 17 steps to navigate but the views are incredible. Two nicely sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, decent internet and laundry. What more could you ask for? We loved it.

Amazing

Absolutely loved this location and the Apartment. Mike gave amazing and precise directions to the apartment as well as great details for appliances etc use in the apartment as well as recommendations for restaurants, cooking schools and wine tastings. Along with supermarkets, farmacias and hospitals. We stayed in 3 different apartments in Italy and by far this one provided the most complete information. The Netflix box for watching movies was a nice add for the cold rainy day we had. Mike checked in to be sure we had everything we needed during the week and we couldn’t have asked for better care. It is in an awesome location for visiting many sites in Tuscany and the views cannot be beat!

Rural apartment

We enjoyed 6 days at Mikes property. The accommodation was really comfortable. With everything you could possibly need for a holiday stay. We were very fortunate to be just 1 of 4 groups of guests staying at the accommodation. So when using the pool we invariably had it all to ourselves. The accommodation is ideally placed between Florence and Siena so we opted to use the train from Poggibonsi as it was easier to park for free at the station and the fare was cheap. Don’t forget to visit Volterra and San Giminganano, some of the other local villages are spectacular too. That you Mike for being such a great host, a pleasure to talk with you. Everything was done to make our stay comfortable. Friends of ours have already asked us for information of how to book, they were so impressed with our pictures and location for visits to Florence and Siena.

Nice Apartment in Beautiful Location

The views from the apartment are absolutely stunning. The apartment itself is situated in a remote location within a number of very nicely renovated farm buildings. We were only 2 people and found the space ok but we are sure 4 people would find it a little cramped in terms of the actual living space although the bedrooms were fine and the bed we used was very comfortable. The central location was perfect for visiting Siena, Volterra, Florence, Pisa and Lucca - all of them definitely worth a visit. The only downside we experienced was a long (over 1km) and very slow (5mph) journey along a farm-track littered with massive potholes along the entire length from the main road to the property. The owner was excellent with communication, directions etc. and told us that the road was due for its "annual service". I think we were probably unlucky in that we did have a couple of pretty hefty thunderstorms which definitely did not help the condition of the road afterwards.

My wife and I were on a three week trip of Italy, wanting to stay in the Tuscany area for one week. Most hotels and B&B do not have bath tubs or clothes washing facilities. Although this unit was not in the location I desired, the advertisement indicated an electric washer/dryer and a tub. ( My wife prefers to bath rather than shower) Upon arrival I contacted the property owner and asked the location pf the electric dryer............he indicated that there was a drying rack located outside. I asked about the electric dryer and did not receive an answer. OK, that evening I attempted to draw a bath for my wife. I looked for the taps and tub spout, not located anywhere. I contacted the owner again, his response ( I prefer to shower in the morning using the hand held shower) That might work for him but it was not what I expected. Using the hand held shower head takes about two hours to draw a bath. If one is considering renting this property, one should be aware that there is a 2 1/2 KM road (gravel) into the property that is not well kept. One should have a truck or SUV to travel this road. The owner does live on site and this property is poorly maintained.

Wonderful Location and Apartment

We have just had the most wonderful time in Mike's apartment. It's along a dusty track (a car is most certainly needed). It's literally in the middle of the countryside, with the most incredible views (if you try, you can just about make out the odd car in the distance), very, very peaceful. The apartment was exceptionally clean, everything worked beautifully. The rooms are delightful with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well thought out with every appliance we could possibly need. Again stunning views from every window. The terrace was a delight to use. Despite the complex having a number of apartments, even in the middle of August it was nowhere near full capacity. Therefore the pool area was deserted most of the time - with the odd person having a dip alongside us now and again. The pool was clean and very well maintained. Mike was very helpful. We needed a doctor on the Italian's version of a bank holiday and he helped guide us in the right direction. We also had a power outrage one day when using the oven and the air con being on - he very quickly pointed us in the right direction. To be fair to him, all the information was in the folder that was left but he helped us none the less. The information about the apartment and the area was by far the most helpful we have had and found them invaluable. Many thanks Mike for a wonderful stay and all your help.

5* Tuscan heaven.

Couldn’t get home quick enough to write a review of La Vista Grande because it is so well deserved!! We were a party of two couples who have just returned from an amazing 2 weeks of heaven, spent in a beautiful apartment with the best views we have ever experienced from a holiday home, and we have been fortunate to have been on many. The bedrooms were big and both had en-suites and air con which was so welcome on the hot nights. During our stay I had to contact Mike due to one of the air con units not working but he responded so promptly that we were able to resolve the problem within half an hour. The weather was very hot throughout out stay but the small apartment complex is positioned on a hill and with La Vista Grande being on the first floor we had a lovely breeze flowing through the apartment. The well maintained pool also benefitted from the breeze too. We spent many an afternoon sitting by the pool reading, swimming and just relaxing taking in the beautiful Tuscan views. There were only ever a few other people in the pool at any one time, and often we had it to ourselves. Our garden allowed us privacy and shade which was an important factor for us when we booked the apartment. I think we had the best views of any of the apartments because we had a distant view of the beautiful medieval town of Volterra which lit up at night. La Vista Grande was perfectly located for visits to Pisa, Siena, Lucca, San Gigimiano, Volterra and Florence. There were so many more local towns to explore too. We would love to return to La Vista Grande and will certainly be recommending it our families and friends. What a treat they have in store!!!

In the middle of het Toscane landschap een zeer relaxte vakantie gehad. Het is zeer rustig en afgelegen, op het platteland waar het heet was. Om naar de supermarkten en stadjes te gaan is het een half uur rijden ( waarvan 7 minuten over een grindpad) prima voorzieningen, lekker zwembad en privé gedeelte met tuin.

Toskana wie man sie sich erträumt

Die Ferienwohnung war mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, um sich rundum wohlzufühlen. Der Pool ist groß genug um darin zu schwimmen. Die Aussicht auf Volterra und das Hügelland ist bei jedem Wetter wunderbar. Die Zufahrt über einen Schotterweg ist mit jedem normalen Auto möglich. Wir haben den Urlaub dort sehr genossen.
