I am so pleased that Bernadette and her family enjoyed their stay. It was infortunate that the entire area was subject to an 8 hour electricity cut and hope that it did not put too much of a damper on their stay, however we have offered to reimburse Bernadette for any food wastage during the outage.

Laura and her family were delightful guests and from the very start of our communications were easy and clear about their requirements. Our housekeeper also told me that they were courteous and Thoughtful guests throughout their stay. We have very much taken on board Laura’s comment that it would be helpful to have a list of supermarkets/restaurants and local attractions and have started compiling one which will be available for all future guests.

I am pleased that, overall, you enjoyed your stay at our home. However, I am so sorry that you had issues with the house and I would like to address all four of these points: 1. The shower and hot water: This is the first ever review or feedback to mention a problem with the hot water to the showers. I would like to say however that the guests arriving directly after you contacted me immediately to report extremely poor water flow. We arranged for the plumber to come the following day who reported that the inner tube in the casement to both the shower heads had been twisted: The parts were replaced within hours. 2. No, we do not have outside sofas or a hammock and have never indicated that we did. However we do have ample outside seating and six very comfortable state-of-the-art sun loungers by the pool. 3. T.V. We have chosen not to have a TV at La Vigna and that is clear on the website. 4. Only one en-suite bathroom: La Vigna is a four bedroomed spacious home with three bathrooms, only one of which is an en-suite. This is also very clear on our website.

We are sorry that these guests were disappointed with the house and gave it this low rating. As was noted in their review, cultivated gardens and lawns are not typical of the Pugliese countryside, which is why this farmhouse is surrounded by verandas and terraces for relaxing, barbecuing and outside eating. The area around the house is defined by a profusion of olive and fruit trees - in essence, a natural landscape characteristic of a former Pugliese farm. With regards to communication, we always exchange mobile phone numbers and if and when any maintenance problems arise, we have a housekeeper in the village as well as a dedicated team of tradesmen who sort out any issues as quickly as possible. We are surprised by the comments on the kitchen. We believe it is, in fact, very well stocked and equipped, particularly as other guests have gone out of their way to remark on this. The house is fully finished for summer lettings (but we will be installing radiators and a wood burning stove for winter lettings in the New Year). Parts of the outer boundaries require some finishing touches, but we are intending this to be done in the spring. All our other guests have really enjoyed their stay in our house and we are sad that these particular guests did not. We are pleased, however, that they enjoyed their stay in Puglia and were able to make the most of the beautiful hilltop towns and wonderful restaurants.
