Oyster Cottage es una hermosa casa de campo del siglo XIX totalmente renovada y cuidadosamente amueblada en un estilo náutico contemporáneo. Encantadoramente equipado con una alta especificación con: Wi-Fi, TV de pantalla plana y DVD, eliminación de desechos, placa eléctrica y horno, microondas, frigorífico (nuevo en otoño de 2018), lavavajillas, lavadora, caldera combinada para agua caliente constante y Calefacción central de gas.

Durante el invierno 2018/2019, hemos renovado la pintura, limpiado las alfombras y mejorado el piso de la cocina, todo listo para que disfrute aún más de la experiencia de alojarse en Oyster Cottage.

La cabaña es de nivel inverso con un salón de planta abierta, comedor y cocina en el primer piso que permite maravillosas vistas del mar, el estuario y el pueblo verde. Hay ventanas de doble acristalamiento de UPVC en todas partes y puertas correderas con un balcón de juliette fuera del comedor.

La habitación doble tiene una cómoda cama doble con edredón de matrimonio y ropa de cama de alta calidad. Hay un armario empotrado muy espacioso, persianas venecianas, una persiana opaca y mesas de noche coordinadas con lámparas a juego. En el segundo dormitorio hay literas de tamaño adulto y un vestidor. Otro edredón kingsize está disponible para el sofá cama en la sala de estar.

En el baño hay una ducha increíblemente espaciosa, decorada con buen gusto y decorada para adaptarse al tema náutico y costero de toda la casa.

Ubicación central del pueblo con vista al popular Bowling Club Green y a menos de 100 metros de la popular playa de arena y arena de Shaldon con un ferry de pasajeros a Teignmouth. Fácil de jalar hacia afuera para descargar, estacionamiento gratuito alrededor del green. También hay muchos lugares de estacionamiento "locales" cerca y dos grandes aparcamientos. Deje el automóvil atrás durante la duración de su estadía, ¡se puede caminar a todas partes!

El pueblo cuenta con excelentes restaurantes, cafeterías, pubs y tiendas a poca distancia. El maravilloso London Inn está al otro lado del green. Hay pesca, vela, un zoológico, golf de aproximación, el sendero costero y un parque de juegos para niños.

The location is perfectly central in Shaldon, on The Green and just 2 minutes walk to the beach and close to all the shops, cafes, restaurants and lovely pubs. It’s very easy to walk everywhere.

I love to relax in Oyster Cottage. The views are gorgeous from the lounge, dining area and kitchen. And as you can easily walk to the beach, shops and cafes there is no stress. It’s a real break.

We love to welcome returning guests to Oyster Cottage. The views are quite special. One way looks over the green, the bowling green and the fields beyond and from the lounge window you have a wonderful view of the River Teign estuary. It’s interesting to watch the boats coming amd going.

We love the location on the green so we can walk everywhere. The reverse level means we get superb views from the lounge, kitchen and dining area. Internal bathrooms need ventilation and we have a good extractor fan and a dehumidifier if needed which means no issues normally.

A wonderful cottage that offers everything you would require for a fabulous holiday. Our first family holiday as a three and it could not have been better. The location is brilliant with all the amenities you require in a short distance with great eateries near by to ensure you can fully relax and leave the hum drum of normal life behind.

Lovely property for a short getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay in Shaldon, the property is well presented and located. Parking was easy enough near to the cottage, though we stayed slighty out of season. Communications with the owner were very good throughout.

Beautiful cottage in wonderful location!

The cute, cosy cottage was warm, welcoming, immaculately clean and very well-equipped - a real home-from-home! Shaldon is a picturesque seaside village with a smattering of fab eateries and cute, independent shops. Also well-situated with good transport links to Teignmouth, Totnes, Exeter and Dartmoor. Carol was a lovely host who sent clear check-in instructions. We really enjoyed our stay!

Our “cute” cottage is such a delightful place to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. It’s well located to explore the beautiful village of Shaldon and the wider area of South Devon. The South West Coast Path is also very popular with guests and it’s just 15 minutes walk from the cottage.

We feel location is important when choosing somewhere to stay and Oyster Cottage is ideal as it is close to everything Shaldon has to offer and the coastal footpath. It is also easy reach to Exeter and Dartmoor and there are several good golf courses nearby. The shower upgrade has been a hit with all our guests, so pleased!

Perfect location, lovely cottage.

Great location, central to the village, overlooking the green and mins from the beach. Cottage sleeps 6 but with just 2 of us, plenty of space to chill. Kitchen/ lounge area upstairs, very airy and bright with great views. Very comfortable bedroom, good bathroom, very peaceful at night.

The location right on the green is perfect. There are wonderful views from the living area upstairs from all the windows thanks to the reverse level layout. Also having shops, beaches, pubs and cafes just minutes away makes it a very easy and relaxing place to stay.

We love the central location of the cottage. It is so great to park the car and be able to walk to the shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach. No matter the time of year or the weather there is plenty to do and see in Shaldon.

We both grew up locally and after a spell living in West Sussex we returned to Devon. Gary is a health care director and Carole a teacher. We love the coast and enjoy walking, cycling, skiing and eating out! We had a motor boat and spent many happy hours pottering about on the river. Our two children grew up playing on the beach at Shaldon and went to the village primary school. While we were on secondment to the USA we valued our wonderful cottage even more on our regular visits home. We are now back in the UK and make regular visits to Shaldon a place close to our hearts. We are fortunate to have a local company managing the cleaning of the cottage and maintaining it to the high standards that we started with.

We have always loved Shaldon and were delighted when this cottage on The Green came up for sale as this has always been our favourite location in the village. The cottage has been totally renovated very innovatively and tastefully, by two local people. Oyster Cottage is perfectly situated and due to the thoughtful reverse level design you can enjoy wonderful views of the green, the village, the sea and river, whilst relaxing with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat and drink in Shaldon, including, just 2 minutes away, the Clipper which is open all day and evening and is right on the beach and another beachside cafe, The Strand Cafe. You can also walk up to Ode Cafe at the Ness or The Ness House Hotel both of which have amazing views or wander across the green to The London Inn which was completely renovated a few years ago and serves amazing food, beer and it's own gin and has a sunny pub garden overlooking the green, Oyster Cottage and Shaldon bowling green. We have spent many enjoyable evenings in Shaldon with friends while staying at the cottage ourselves. Shaldon is a quaint and unique seaside village with so much to offer.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

There are many wonderful things about staying at Oyster Cottage. The village green location is perfect as you are within walking distance of all the local facilities, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and just 50 metres to the beach and ferry to Teignmouth. You can easily pull up outside to load and unload. Some free parking located nearby and 2 huge car parks. No need to use the car for the duration of your stay, unless you want to go further afield.

It is a very bright and airy property and because of it's position the dual aspect views are fantastic. We have furnished it in a nautical style in keeping with the village ethos. We take great pride in maintaining the decor and furnishings so that it keeps it's "newly decorated" feel.

It is a quirky mixture of old and modern and includes everything from WiFi to washing machine to make staying there as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.

After many successful years with lots of wonderful comments and reviews from our happy guests, the cottage has been spring cleaned and we are ready to welcome guests old and new to Oyster Cottage on The Green. We added new refinements in 2025 including some decor items, We have a wonderfully spacious walk in shower, tastefully designed and decorated to fit in with the nautical and seaside theme throughout the cottage.
