The property was a converted mansion 2 blocks from the Arno and two of the main bridges over it. Lots of artisans live and work there and the Piazzele Michaelangelo looks down on it from its staircases. Great location, lots of bus service along the river. The apartment has a washer, dryer, dishwasher and air conditioning units with lovely decorative pieces in the rooms. Dramatically decorated. If you are someone who loves to cook, you will find the kitchen adequate but not as well appointed as you like, perhaps. For example, only enough plates for 4 but cutlery for many more. No baking pans for roasting or baking desserts. Full sized fridge, bless it. A large supermarket near the Ponte Vecchio had nearly everything we needed, including wines, meats, pastas, cheeses and fresh and frozen fruits and veg. Gelato was available every few blocks. Quite a few neighborhood trattoria and ristorantes frequented by the locals. The places overlooking the river are pricier but delizioso as well. Very close to the Pitti Palace and other attractions. The beds were comfy with great linens and towels. Bathrooms are beautiful with great showers, but no tub if you need that. Marialaura was very responsive and answered our calls and texts very quickly. It was a bit more expensive than we wanted but all in all was a very pleasant place to stay..
