Dear John, Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry that the rooftop terrace did not meet your expectations. The terrace is the original rooftop of a historic palace, and the stone staircase leading to the belvedere is part of the building's authentic architecture. Unfortunately, it cannot be modified. We describe and photograph this feature in the listing because we want guests to be fully aware of it before booking. Many of our guests enjoy using the terrace for breakfast, aperitifs while watching the sunset, but we understand that its historic layout may not suit everyone's preferences. We are sorry the terrace was not well maintained during your stay. We will work more closely with our cleaning team to ensure it is always presented at its best, and we will also check the lighting. We are very pleased that, despite this, you enjoyed the apartment, its fantastic location, the air conditioning, and the peaceful atmosphere of Gallipoli's historic centre. Thank you very much for your feedback Peter. You are right, there were little daily basics: since it was low season we emptied the pantry to avoid leaving decayed products. We will do our best to improve on this aspect in the future! Actually we have a washing machine in the kitchen; you probably got confused with another apartment :-).
