our stay was wonderful, the home was very clean. thankful they allowed our pup and the infants. the only problem we had was that the book of instructions that a paper said would be on the kitchen counter was not. so when we left we just did what we normally do at other vrob’s and hoped it was up to standard. also the kitchen faucet needs fixing or replacing as it’s very hard to shut off the water completely. there is a lot of water being wasted. and we wish the home provided full cable. but all in all it was comfortable and pleasent. we would stay there again!

Ocean, Deer and Turkeys, Oh My !

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay here, the ocean view was fantastic! the fireplace added to the peaceful ambience of the upstairs, along with "Crabby Patty" sitting above it. Most of our time was spent exploring the area, relaxing on the beaches, the many restaurants, the town thrift store, watching the deer and wild turkeys, walking the neighborhood and Fiscalini Park. That being said, upon our arrival we found the downstairs was uninhabitable, it was dark and had a strong odor of mildew (that did not go away). the bath/shower was difficult to maneuver in and out of, forcing us to use the downstairs shower. the house was clean on the surface but needed a deep clean inside and out. We were looking forward to using the BBQ but found it dirty and rusty and we could not and would not use it. Not enough lighting in the living room, and at the dining table for eating as well as watching tv. There were no blinds on the dining room slider, which canceled out any privacy. All in all, we felt that the pros out weighed the cons and would consider staying here again if all of the problems were taken care of. p.s. the living room couch and chairs were sooo comfortable! a real plus to have comfortable furniture to relax on.

Cozy and Cool Beach House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful, Cozy Beach House! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. The front balcony view! Breath taking, really! Every morning the first place I would go was straight for the balcony to watch the fog slowly disperse and turn into the prettiest blue ocean. The beds were cozy. Blankets and bath towels were plentiful. I noticed a oscillating fan in the master bedroom (we brought three from home- love that white noise). Appreicate the doggie bowls in the pantry, and the thoughtfulness of the doggy gates at the entrances of all the stairs outside! One thing that needs to be updated is the kitchen utensils, spatulas and maybe a better set of knives. Otherwise, everything was great! Note to property management/owners- master toilet is very weak and the water runs, we had to fix it a couple of times through the week. Also, the dryer door does not latch so our clothes would take forever to dry. We had to push a laundry basket up against the door to keep it shut. All in all those things were minor and we enjoyed our beach house and hated to leave to come home to 103 degree valley heat! We cannot wait to visit again! I'm guessing that's why it was expensive per night. For the rate we paid we expected it to be in much better shape. The cupboards were dirty inside and out. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard. We realized on the last day that the soap dispenser in the dishwasher didn't dissolve the soap pod, hence dirty dishes and silverware. The linoleum in the kitchen is lifting up. No liquid dish soap to hand wash anything. Kitchen and bathroom poorly stocked, paper goods, no spare batteries for remotes which were dead, no colander. Front slider door can barely be opened. Raggedy and filthy potholders that should be replaced. Few spare blankets and the ones there also raggedy and had holes and were lumpy. Very poor lighting throughout house. No dishrags or clean sponges available. Furniture dirty and uncomfortable. Walls are dirty. Paint peeling on bathroom cabinets. Basically lacks good cleaning and maintenance over a long period of time.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. We have referred your review to the owner of the property and he has since remedied many, if not all, of these matters, including installing a new dishwasher, replacing the flooring in the kitchen, he is looking into buying new furniture, he purchased new blankets, potholders, and the handyman has addressed the repairs that needed to be done. We have also given the housekeeper your review and asked that she pay particular attention the cleaning issues and supplies. (new pictures will be posted on our website soon) We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better hosting experience in the future.

They didn’t take me seriously

After months of anticipation about staying at Snug Harbor, we arrived to a nice house with a spectacular view. I gave cleanliness two stars, but that wasn’t because the house wasn’t clean but because the property management company didn’t inspect the house prior to our arrival. I say that because the carpet was sopping wet from cleaning and really colored our stay. For the first three days, after wringing out all of my pairs of socks, we were forced to wear hard shoes when walking around the house. Before we realized how serious the problem was, my feet were bright red as a reaction to the chemicals in the cleaning solution. The real problem as I see it is, when I called the property management company, they didn’t take me seriously and offered mere lip service to my complaint. To their credit, they did offer to move us to another property which seemed infeasible after having settled in. If there is a lesson that the PM company could have learned from it would be to take complaints more seriously. There was no attempt to inspect the house after my complaint. Of course, this would have been avoided if they had inspected the house before our arrival. I doubt seriously that they would have allowed us to enter the house if they had known the condition of the carpet. This was my first experience with Vrbo and it isn’t a good memory.

Loved the closed garage. We enjoyed the hiking as well as Soto's True Earth Market... a wonderful health oriented store with great grocery selections.

Most Comfortable House allowing pets ever

Snug Harbor is our dream come true. The view from the deck is amazing. The proximity to the ranch is perfect for our morning runs. And we love all the neighbors, herds of deer wandering in the yards, flocks of birds singing in the trees and bunnies hopping through the fields. Everything in the house worked. We look forward to returning soon.

Unfortunately, they are no longer allowing pets here so we won’t be able to rent it again and we truly are sorry at this development. The view from the living room is spectacular and a main reason we loved it. There are some relatively minor issues...the dish washer doesn’t work well and the back deck is no longer as private as it once was but we kept coming back because it really was a perfect setup for us and our dog. The neighbors are lovely and the proximity to Fiscalini Trails is a plus. We will miss it!

Save money and book through Scenic Coast Property management. We had an issue with our first choice and the staff at SCPM got us moved into a different house in less than an hour. Turned out to be a better place with a fantastic view, access to a garage and a gas fireplace! I won't use VRBO ever again. Book direct!
