Doc's Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, a nice stay. The home was not well-cleaned upon arrival; this included an extremely dusty fridge top and some unclean bowls and utensils. Not what we're used to from other Ocean Odyssey properties.

The retreat is small but complete. The kitchen is reasonably well stocked. It is in a great location with a lovely bench on the property to sit and view the sea. Its in-town location allows you walk to the stores, coffee kiosks, and restaurants. The living room furniture is very comfortable, and the two beds are also comfortable.

Doc's retreat is just great! incredible location -fantastic view of the ocean and very clean and comfortable beds. Overall the cottage was cozy and comfortable.The rating of 4 stars is because it stated that they do not supply a starter amount of coffee filters. So we made a trip to the store and bought some before arriving. And when we arrived we found that there were 4 packs of nearly full coffee filters! We all thought what an inexpensive thing not to provide! Other travelers must have done the same as us and just left the coffee filters there!Also, the instructions say to wash the sheets and put the load in the dryer before you leave. That is fine, except the washer would not go to the spin cycle. We tried everything! spent at least 30 minutes trying to create a work around, but no other cycle would spin. So we ended up putting soaking wet sheets in the dryer. I sent a message to the host and he replied "no problem, that's fine" so they need to fix their washer.

Our 47th wedding anniversary

Yachats was a great little place for a week of quiet reflection. The weather was great and we had a front row seat for the angry sea ahead of a small summer storm.

Great place!

This is a classic beach house- a little quirky, cute, water view and walking distance to town. The house had everything we needed and we had a great time there. We had some great wave watching from the bench on the property and we took some great walks- you can walk to town one direction and eventually to nice walking path the other direction. This is a great little house!

Ocean view

Such a delightful cabin right on the cliffs. 50 feet out the back door are amazing rocks with crashing waves. ocean view from the living room and the kitchen. Overall just delightful and a quiet neighborhood for walking.

Perfect little house!

Not at all fancy, but had everything we needed, including a killer location just above the surf for all-day views. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Just a few minutes north of Cape Perpetua. Everything was very clean.

The retreat was quiet, comfy and cozy! I adored the ocean view from the kitchen window and the privacy of the space and the homey vibe. Just a short walk from the door was the big blue Pacific, and a bench to sit upon and savor it all.

Nice place to stay

As some others have said in their reviews, this place could use some TLC, however the important things (to us anyway) were great. The place was clean. The bed was comfortable. Everything worked in the bathroom and kitchen. And the view from the bench in the backyard is stunning. We had good weather and enjoyed a few meals right there on the bench.

A bit chilly drafty - the floor in the kitchen is wet by the window from a leaking roof We pay a cleaning fee but that doesn’t include laundry what seems strange to me but a fun stay great location to town and trails

Property very old. Furniture old and uncomfortable. All appliances worked well. The back yard s a mess. The shrubs obscured the ocean view from the house which sits way back on the property. The replaced windows were nice but several were missing their screens. The location was perfect.

A quiet place with a beautiful view

We really enjoyed the view and location of this house. My only complaints by is that if you really want to do some good cooking the kitchen pots and pans are not very good. Could use an upgrade in this area.

As advertised and reviewed

Doc's is dated from a furnishings standpoint and could use a queen size bed in one of the rooms instead of a double. The mattresses are a tad on the soft side. However, the kitchen is well equipped and the house is clean. For the price, the location cannot be beat as it is a short walk to everything in Yachats and the views are excellent.

Quiet, Clean, Close

Very comfortable & cozy, I call it a beach cabin vibe. Very clean and well stocked. The outside and particularly the entryway could use some TLC, but ignore it, it is not reflective of the inside. Comfortable furniture and bed, we especially appreciated the excellent lighting! Perfect location for visiting Yachats, no more than a half mile walk to anything. We did not use our car all week. Excellent eating i n Yachats.
