The honua Kai resort is absolutely perfect! Great for families with little ones! Just make sure that the starter package provided will suit your needs before travel so you can better plan ahead before arriving on the island.

Great unit

This is a beautiful unit. We have stayed at Honua Kai before and this room was wonderful. Spacious, clean and gorgeous views. Plenty of room for our family of 4, including 2 teens.

Great property and location. It would be nice to have a starter coffee for first day and a small thing of salt and pepper. But the box of chocolates was a really nice treat. My family will return to this property next year. Thank you

Honua Kai is a beautiful resort

Honua Kai is a beautiful resort! You can't go wrong! We had 4 adults and 2 children in this 2 bedroom condo and that worked fairly well. I wouldn't recommend using the pullout as a bed as it was very uncomfortable. 2 big bathrooms and a long patio in this suite. Beach chairs, beach towels, sand toys, boogie boards all provided- which we appreciated!

This was a great vacation

This was a great vacation. The condo is decently stocked, although lacking in a few areas, which I suggested to the management company. Overall this resort is top notch, love having the resort feeling, but being in a condo with a kitchen and laundry. A couple things to note, the water heater is tiny so it really is good for one, maybe 2 quick showers, we took a lot of cold showers. The cooler, chairs, and frisbee were a great addition. The location is awesome. If you park below in the parking garage you basically go straight up the elevator to the room! Very easy to come and go. Dukes has decent food but is overpriced. The pools and hot tubs are awesome, crowded, but great. They are also open until 10 PM and really no employees are there bugging you about anything, but are very helpful if you need something. The beach was a little disappointing, you can kind of swim but there is a huge reef and big waves so not a very user friendly situation if you have kids. Overall our experience was awesome, and we will stay again. KMB was a great and handled all requests quickly and check in was easy! With a few small tweaks to the condo it could be perfect! This vacation was just my husband, myself, and my kids, but I would be comfortable with 2 couples, and 2 kids on the sofa bed if necessary.

Really excellent condo and location!

We had an amazing time with our family of 4. The condo is very nice, clean and well stocked. It even had boogie boards and a cooler which was useful. Would definitely stay here again.

Accommodations were excellent

Our room and accommodations were excellent . The only negative being an older couple ,are the amount of families and young children . They take over the pool with there floaties and balls. They are constantly screening from 6 am to 10 pm. Luckily we like the beach. So because of that we probably would not return. This resort is for young families

Great unit great view

Great unit great view. Very modern and has everything you need. Staff is great and very helpful any time you need them. Would definitely stay here again. Pools are great. Dukes restaurant is great right near the beach. Overall fantastic resort.

Amazing accommodations

Amazing accommodations and rental car. KBM was very responsive, prior to our trip there was an issue with the place we were scheduled to stay at and they put us in a better location at no additional cost. The car was great and everything was as expected. I will definitely be checking out KBM rentals in the future!

First-rate second-rate property

Our condo was nice and well-appointed. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The cleaning crew did a fantastic job getting it ready for us. The proximity to Dukes is awesome. We got takeout from them a couple of nights. The spa was wonderful - small and intimate with very talented therapists and estheticians. Highly recommend. The property mgmt company provided beach chairs, boogie boards and a cooler, which came in really handy. The property itself is just okay. It’s impossible to score chairs at the pool after 7:30am. We resorted to paying our kid to get up early and claim chairs. If you can, reserve a cabana now— they were sold out when we arrived and there weren’t going to be any available for the next two weeks. The common areas are pretty grubby, including the (very slow) elevators and the hallways. There was a hair tumbleweed in the hall for at least three days. The gym is small and crowded, but at least they have one! The beach in front of the property is narrow. Waves are okay for boogie boards and little kids, but we had to go south toward the ali’i to find waves big enough for our teens to go surfing. The pool/beach towel situation is interesting. The have machines that dispense the towels when you swipe your room key. It keeps track of how many you grabbed and then checks them back in (like a library book). If you fail to return the towel, you get charged $20. I totally get why they need to do this BUT it seemed each day at least two or three of the towel machines didn’t work, which is pretty frustrating. There’s no front desk since it’s all condos, so you have to fend for yourself.

The process of booking is super easy with KBM Resorts

This is our 4th trip to Maui. All of our trips we've stayed at Honua Kai. This is our second rental with KBM. The process of booking is super easy. Check in is also super easy. Having stayed here before, We liked picking up keys and heading to unit on our own. We didn't rent the car through KBM this year, but wish we had. Last trip we did and it was so easy - even easier than using my National status.

Everything went smooth!

Everything went smooth.They acted prompt when we requested beach toys and other things to make our stay comfortable. The property was top notch and was maintained very well! We had a late night flight. So they accommodated our request for a late check out and that helped our little ones a lot! A wonderful experience overall.

Nice resort!!!

We really enjoyed our stay and the nice ocean view from our condo. The kids enjoyed the pool, lazy river and especially the water slide! Dukes Restaurant is on the property, we ate there for lunch one of the days, we thought the food was okay.

We love the 2nd floor location

This was our third stay at Honua Kai but our first stay with KBM in unit H247. We love the 2nd floor location because it's easy and fast to get in/out of. The Condo was very clean.The carpet is getting a bit worn, but still clean and more than acceptable. Love the fact that they could split the king bed in the 2nd bedroom so our kids could have their own beds. We did require new bedding during our stay and the staff brought us a new comforter amazingly fast. The rental car experience was also super easy and fast. I would definitely recommend KBM - simple booking experience & great service.

Beautiful

Honua Kai is wonderful! Lovely property and we like the location. It is easy to get anywhere on the island. Our condo was great other than the carpet. Much prefer flooring and an area rug. The carpet stains greet you as you enter the condo. Love the lanai and condo was well stocked. Loved the south facing ocean view. Booking again for next year!

Awesome Condo

We were on the 2 nd, view of the pool and ocean. I fell in love with Honua Kai when I saw the doors open all the way. Perfect outdoor living situation. #247 was well appointed, very nice beds and washer and dryer in the unit. Our TVs were a problem but management quickly came to the rescue. Thank you. Our trip was wonderful. I would definitely return to Honua Kai!!!

Great Property and Unit

The Honua Kai is a fantastic property and the unit was very clean and well furnished. It has everything you'll need for a great holiday. The unit included many extras such as beach chairs, body-boards, and sand toys that were really useful. KBM also converted one bedroom from a King Bed to 2 twin beds (so my kids could have separate beds). Honua Kai has several pools and hot tubs (with slides and waterfalls etc). Duke's restaurant has a great happy hour, while you watch the sunset over the ocean. The snorkeling off of the beach can be fairly good (as we've stayed here previously). The weather didn't cooperate on this trip (high winds), so the visibility was poor (sandy). Though there are plenty of sheltered bays (excellent for snorkelling) near by. The Times Supermarket and Snorkel Bob's are within walking distance (or a 2 minute drive).
