Casa de vivienda histórica

Esta casa de estilo arubano real de 2150 pies cuadrados (200 m2) fue construida en 1940. La casa original (que se llama casa Cunucu) consiste en paredes apiladas de piedra caliza. La casa ha sido renovada regularmente a lo largo de los años, pero ha conservado su carácter tradicional. El espacioso baño principal se renovó recientemente en el último trimestre de 2017. Se adjunta una extensión de dos pisos con sala de estar y dormitorios adicionales. Grandes acentos de diseño y características modernas combinadas con historia.
La casa tiene capacidad para 6 personas en 3 habitaciones (una en la planta baja con WIC). Además, la casa está equipada con 2 ½ baños, una amplia sala de estar, una cocina totalmente equipada con una estufa histórica, 2 porches de comedor y un área cubierta con hamacas donde podrá relajarse. En el terreno también hay un estacionamiento donde puedes estacionar 2 autos. En el segundo piso tiene una vista de una parte de la isla. Estará rodeado de un ambiente relajado, un jardín tropical y disfrutará de la naturaleza que lo rodea.

Exactly what we wished for… private… beautifully restored property full of old charm with modern comforts… you may never want to leave the Master Bath. Wake to bird song sleep with beautiful breezes. Hosts Carola and Jurgen are the best MOST helpful with our questions before and during our visit. Don’t hesitate.

Very good property

Back from 2 weeks in Aruba, the house was exactly as described, it's a beautiful property not really walking distance from the beaches but the Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, and downtown areas are only 10 to 15 minutes away by car. Carola and Jurgen are very responsive, they got back to us very quickly when we had questions or minor issues, they take their business very seriously. The neighborhood is nothing special but it's really safe and the people are very helpful. Beach chairs and coolers are very usefull. Washing machine and dishwasher are very much appreciated. Overall it was a very good experience

Perfect for the 2 of us

We had a delay with our flight and did not get into Aruba until late , almost dark, . We informed the hosts and they were kind enough to get some provisions to leave at the house since we would not be able to stop at a grocery store on our way there. House was fully equipped for what we needed and very comfortable. Out door grill was great for fish and chicken. Location was great, 20 minutes from the airport . Easy drive to the California light house and northern coast. But still easy enough to visit the southern end of the island. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Home away from home. Highly recommend.

quaint updated Aruban house

The listing pictures on tell half of the story. It is truly interesting. There are many nooks throughout the lower floor. The kitchen is well equipped. The only "missing" appliance is a microwave, although there is a modern toaster oven available. Comfortable beds. Airconditioned throughout.There is one caveat. The stairs is very narrow in the turn at the top. Caution is required (let the kids go upstairs).The surroundings are typical of the island, and it makes you appreciate that you are on vacation, yet the hotels and beached are withing a few minutes' drive. Owner was readily available when needed. Read the "welcome" booklet that is provided for useful tips. The light switches are not necessarily where you expect the to be, but it is fully explained the in the Welcome book. Would recommend the property.

Siamo stati molto bene in questa casa dall'indiscusso fascino, ristrutturata per riportare agli antichi fasti una dimora storica. Abbastanza ben attrezzata e dotata di barbecue. I proprietari molto gentili e disponibili che abitano a poca distanza sono pronti a risolvere ogni problema si possa presentare. Confermiamo la difficoltà di utilizzo delle due stanze al piano superiore a causa della scala, peccato perchè sono molto carine. Ci sentiamo di consigliarla vivamente.

Beautiful home! We will stay here again!

My husband and I rented this home for 5 days. The architecture is amazing. Beautiful wooden doors and rock walls make it very cozy. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch, surrounded by beautiful vegetation. The attached garden is beautiful and provides great privacy. The location is minutes from the beach by car and the neighborhood is clean and quiet. We had one minor glitch with low power but it was addressed immediately and the owner responded within minutes once notified. Very clean house and worth every penny. We would recommend to our friends and family any time.

Old charm house

Beautiful historic house with modern touches. Conveniently located ( must have a car). Spacious bedrooms, great backyard and porch. The stairs may be challenging for some people and must be used with caution. Besides that we loved the house and had a great time. The owners: Jurgen and Carola are very helpful and generous. Unique home

Overall, a lovely home in a good location, but maybe not for everyone. The positives: The master bedroom suite is very nice and modern; the A/C keeps the room very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped well enough to prepare basic meals. There are three nice outside areas to relax in. Lots of windows in the main living area for the breeze to flow through. There's a washing machine. The negatives: The windows are not screened, so mosquitoes can be a problem. The upstairs area is not easily accessible or comfortable for anyone older, larger, or has any physical difficulties for two main reasons - the second half of the staircase is more ladder than stairs with minimal railing, dangerous for little children and sketchy for bad knees; the mattresses are more like the types of pads you find on bunk beds, not comfortable for heavier people or any back issues. We were a group of four adults, all 50+. After the first day, the other couple had to find somewhere else to stay because the upstairs quarters were not user friendly. Like I said, not for everyone, but for a family with healthy teenagers, would be perfect. Overall, beautiful unique home. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend with the understanding that the upstairs is not for everyone.

Charming house in a quiet neighborhood

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic house. It is a blend of the old and the new, giving it lots of character...gas cook top built into an old chimney, awesome showers in the stone-walled bathroom, quirky light switches that took us awhile to get used to, large windows that open to allow the trade winds to blow through, and more. The house is clean and comfortable, and should there be a problem, the owners respond quickly. The stove top ran out of gas and Carola came to our rescue within minutes. There is no microwave, and the coffeemaker is a Senseo - similar to a Keurig, making individual cups of coffee. A large toaster oven works very well for both toasting and baking. Although it is not mentioned in the property description, there is a washing machine located off the master bath. No dryer, but a large drying rack complete with clothespins works just fine. Because our US Cellular phones had no reception on the island and many streets and roads are not named, we did lots of "exploring" without GPS. However, the WiFi in the house works fine. In addition, we really appreciated the informational notebook for guests which contains lots of useful info about both the house and Aruba. And the welcoming bottle of wine was a lovely surprise! We recommend the house for it's unique charm, location, comfort, and caring owners.

Perfect! Loved the house!

The hosts, Jurgen and Carola, are lovely and helpful and the house is a treasure. Beautifully redone historic house. In the morning we opened all the windows to the trade winds and singing birds .Loved being in a locals neighborhood a very short distance from all the tourist activity..but close enough to everything.Cant wait to stay here again.
