This Beautiful home has a large cold water swim spa next to a Glamorous Outdoor Kitchen and Pavilion to entertain your family and friends. Steps away from your private riverfront on our property with Picnic Tables in the river to enjoy. Front Porch View of The Frio River

Starting in 2026 we will implement our sliding scale pricing, this home has a base price of $895.00 a night with 17 guests, each guest above 17 will be $25 per night per person extra, this will help our groups that have smaller number of guests save a little extra money.

Donny (property host) was amazing! Super nice, made everything so easy and goes the extra mile to make sure you have anything and everything you need!!!Property is exactly as pictured. Perfect location to hang out in the river or float.Highly recommend and we will be back!

Great house! We all had space. kitchen was very equipped. Plenty of beds! Great Airconditioning! We had no Wi-Fi! This was a Bummer. That meant No TV or internet for those who needed to answer job messages.

great house for our large family

House was plenty large for our group - 8 adults and 5 children and was equipped with everything we needed. Just a few steps from the river. The rear porch was perfect to sit around and admire the river

End of Summer Trip

Porter's Tree Haus is a Fantastic Place to Stay. The house has everything you need to cook your Family's Meals in and there is also a 2 drawer Dishwasher ( I don't like to wash dishes). The house is big enough to have a small Family Reunion at, lots of outdoor and indoor seating and Lots of beds to accommodate everyone. Just a very short walk to the river but you can drive and park at the river for the day. Donny is an extremely nice and helpful Host, We will stay at one of his places again!

Excellent Vacation Home

My family of 10 adults and 9 kids spent four nights/five days at Porter's Tree Haus and it was perfect, the home is beautiful, clean and a short walk to the river. The outdoor area/kitchen is amazing, and it is where we spent most of our time, so much room and the small pool was great for the kids after spending all day in the river. Bedrooms were comfortable and the AC in the house worked great. Kitchen cookware and utensils were abundant. Being able to drive a truck to the river for tailgating was also a plus, we put up our canopy and never worried about anyone bothering out things. We cooked every meal at the house because no need to go out when you have the indoor and outdoor kitchen as you do in this home. We booked our stay for next year already because it just doesn't get any better than.

What a cool spot!

A large group of us stayed here for the eclipse. Donny was totally accessible and helpful and added a lot to our visit. We were all thankful for his assistance. The property is amazing, the river was lovely. The house itself is interesting and quirky, lots of personality. The one practical tip I’d offer for future guests is to bring absolutely everything you might need food-wise in with you. They don’t supply anything (eg salt and pepper, condiments, etc) and in fairness don’t pretend to. And anyway there are grocery stores and lots of restaurants close by. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!

Just a great place on the river. Indeed being able to walk down to the water easily was a huge plus. Nicely furnished and the owner was happy to help.

Great place for large groups

We had a blast. Place had plenty of privacy despite being close to other units. Golf course was decent. The only thing I would change is the time of year we went. It was incredibly hot and the river was low in late August.

Perfect Spot

Communication prior to arriving was great. Check in process was easy. Their was a small hiccup with the propane the first night but it was fixed as soon as it was possible and did not affect our trip at all. The location was great and loved being able to drive our truck down to the water. The water was super low and we were unable to float but enjoyed the house and hanging out down at the water. Donny was super helpful when needed and the house was gorgeous with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

On the River

Total relaxation. Close walk to the river. Clean refreshing swim pool. Comfortable beds. Lots of refrigeration storage. Excellent patio seating areas. Outdoor tables for dining. Both Texas style smoker grill and gas grill. Everything you need for sweet retreat!

Frio Fun

This was a great house for our group of 13. The only small issue is that even though there's tons of beds in this house, privacy can be a concern and coordinating groups in rooms. If you are flexible with that, it's fantastic. Plenty of room in the living and kitchen area is great, and there is no shortage of tables and places for large groups to sit and enjoy inside or outside. The river was low, but we can't control that part. Donny was very helpful in taking us to a place on the river with more water and a little bit of "floating" with what we had to work with. All in all, Donny was a great help and was very responsive. We recommend this place highly.

Family retreat

The pictures do not do this place justice. It was amazing inside. We had the best time. A walk from the water plenty of space for the entire family. Fantastic time and will definitely be back.

Such a great place!

Beautiful property and so close to the river! We spent a lot of time on the river and outside. The outdoor siting area was very spacious and comfortable. Donnie was quick to respond and help with anything we needed! Great place!

Pictures don’t do justice to the Treehaus

This property is so beautiful. The outside areas were so nice for relaxing and conversations. The private section of river is perfect for playing in. Donny is super responsive. The upstairs seems to stay a little warmer than the downstairs area, there’s even free laundry machines on site. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. We will be back! Lovely place

Great Property

We spent New Year's weekend with a group of friends @ the property. The house was great with multiple gathering areas, fire places, and the outside covered area was fantastic. Very close to the river, and with its own private access. Donny is a great host who addressed any questions or comments we had immediately. We will certainly go back again.

Consistently Great

We have stayed 7 years in a row around the same time. Although the price has gone up over the years (most likely due to the property taxes in the area), its always worth it because of the view and freedoms provided by the location and owners of the property.

I’m a retired Dry Cleaner from South Texas, that moved up to the Frio River in 2016 and built these glamorous homes on the land that my mom and dad bought in 1960, I run them with Passion and Delight seeing renters come here year after year enjoying their family getaway on my beautiful resort.

I chose this area because my parents bought this land in 1960 for our family to enjoy over the years, I've kept it in my family and kept my father's dream of having friends enjoy it for many years to come. It was literally in the backwoods and we would not see a soul around. We would come and do our family vacations year after since I was born

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This property is unique because it's still in our family. We have private riverfront for our guest to enjoy, many of the countertops, wood tops, and bar tops, that you will see I actually custom built myself, using my sawmill and trees that came off this property or nearby counties. I own it myself, I manage it myself, just as I did my dry cleaning business for 38 years using my people skills and building skills to give my guest an experience they won't find in this area! I guess I'm friends that come back and enjoy the special place I've built.
