Alquiler de vacaciones / escapada de fin de semana. La casa es ideal para dos personas, debido a un baño, que desea alejarse del ajetreo y el bullicio de la vida y busca una casa histórica en un entorno campestre, pero cerca de todo lo que necesita. Recién restaurado con 1 dormitorio principal en la planta baja, 1 dormitorio en la planta superior y baño en la planta baja. La casa está en el circuito de bodegas y adyacente a South Creek Winery. Esta casa fue construida a principios de 1900 a partir de madera obtenida de este tracto. La casa fue renovada por primera vez en la década de 1950 y la plomería eléctrica e interior se añadieron. El piso de madera en toda la casa también se instaló en ese momento. Daniel y Ellen, dueños, también trabajaron en la casa por varios años recientemente y lo modernizaron en cierta medida, incluyendo la adición de calor centralizado y aire. Perfect place to unwind

This property is amazing. The historic house is beautiful and takes you back to a simpler time but still has modern conveniences. Private location with beautiful scenery. The hosts are next door if you need anything yet they are very discreet. Comfortable beds and the ping pong table was a welcome bonus. Lake James is gorgeous and serene. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and this trip did not disappoint. We would definitely return!

Relaxing Retreat

This was a comfortable and relaxing getaway spot. It is exactly as described in the listing and was very clean. We are history buffs and really enjoyed looking at all the antiques and family photos on display. It was very convenient for our kayaking trip on Lake James and we enjoyed the winery next door and a nearby brewery. Our dogs had a great time too! We definitely want to return for a longer visit!

History and a Peaceful Rest

My husband and I stayed with our 2 dogs for the weekend, I wish the trip was longer. The house had so much history and the shower and bed were great! Very nice place to stay! The views were amazing and the sunrise was gorgeous. The yard was great for the dogs and the driveway was a nice walk. Close to Lake James, where we kayaked all day for a fishing tournament. Close to Marion where we hiked to Toms Creek Falls *dogs allowed*. Great vacation!

Lovely Quiet Retreat

Great location near the Pisgah National Forest for day trips to waterfalls, hiking, golfing, wineries, breweries or into Asheville. The house is comfortable and inviting.

Charming Historic Farm House

We loved the history shared here in this farmhouse. Excellent location for a peaceful quiet get a way. Visited Lake James state park, Black Mountain downtown, and the South Creek Winery ( right next door). Ellen and Daniel were very welcoming, friendly, gracious hosts.

Farmhouse experience

So much ambiance. Peaceful and tucked away but not far off the main roads. Loved sitting at the breakfast table on the porch overlooking hay fields. Everything was comfortable (beds chairs sofas). There was a hammock, a little grill and a ping pong table. I appreciated that there were soaps and shampoos and coffee filters. And a hairdryer. Really the best blend of what you would expect at a hotel and the comfort of a home. I wrote to the owner Twice before our stay and the answers came almost immediately. For my first VRBO this was a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.

Loved it

Nice quiet spot about 15 minutes from Lake James. Daniel and Ellen were great and very helpful! Our dog loved it also, great places to walk both on the property and at the lake nearby. There is a winery right next door with live music and tastings that was so much fun! So relaxing, would definitely come again!

Absolutely lovely!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time relaxing in this most lovely home. It truly seemed as if we stepped back in time and were welcomed into the family home. 💕 Watching the deer graze in the back yard was sweet. The bed was comfortable. WiFi was good. Very quick response. Thank you so much!

Cozy getaway

We stayed in this cozy old house for a weekend of fall hiking and loved the feeling of being off the grid while still having close access to a lot. The property is beautiful and has a lot of deer. There is a fun ping pong table upstairs and the bathroom is small but fully functional and clean. The decor really takes you back in time and we enjoyed taking a closer look at it all, almost as if you're in a museum. Daniel and Ellen are very nice and helpful too!

Warm and cozy

I felt like I was in a home away from home. I appreciated the details of the decor! Everything you need is thought thru and available. If you like rustic and rural, it's the place. The only negative for us was the location was further from Asheville than we would have preferred.

Beautiful views! Amazing hosts!

The view from the house was gorgeous, you see deer on the property daily. The house is older but comfortable. The hosts Ellen and Daniel were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We would definitely come back and stay.

Serene haven

This was our second stay at this gorgeous rural farm setting. We walked next door to the winery, but otherwise stayed put and got some much-needed respite from our work. Due to the pandemic we’ve not been anywhere but work, grocery store, or home for six months, and this felt like a safe haven, especially because we brought all of our own food along.

Birthday Weekend

The hosts were absolutely amazing. Communication was instant. The place was spotless. My partner and I felt as if we traveled back in time when life was simple and serene. We did not even turn on the TV. Amazing hiking is within 30 minutes from property. I can not say enough about the hosts. I had an older dog which could not hike and the owners allowed her to stay in the house way past the checkout time. Paradise for people and their furry babies.

Peaceful escape from every day routine

Great place to enjoy the nature, stillness in days and evenings, to watch deer running around. The house itself is extra clean and has its own history and charm. Every great location from this place is convenient. Lake James, wineries, hiking trails. Owners are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. Highly recommend. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.
