Bienvenido a nuestro retiro de Villa en Costa Rica. Estamos ubicados aproximadamente a 10 minutos al norte de Tamarindo, que es una bulliciosa ciudad de surf, donde usted y su familia pueden disfrutar de muchos restaurantes frente a la playa, tiendas, spa y una divertida vida nocturna. Estamos a poca distancia en coche de más de 8 de las mejores playas a lo largo de la "Costa Dorada" de Guanacaste. Ideales para el surf, buceo, kayak, remo de embarque o simplemente para relajarse. Tuvimos la opción afortunada de comprar en cualquier lugar alrededor de Tamarindo y elegimos esta área porque amamos la ciudad de Tamarindo y todo el ajetreo, pero no queríamos vivir en el medio. Nosotros preferimos vivir en una zona céntrica y tranquila con un corto y fácil en coche a todas las increíbles playas y actividades. Cuando se hospede en nuestra Villa, también recibirá a Dominic, quien puede ser su conserje personal mientras esté en Costa Rica. Dominic habla varios idiomas y tiene amplios contactos locales para alquiler de autos, aventuras en volcanes, pesca y botes de vela, clases de surf y prácticamente cualquier otra cosa que necesite o quiera hacer. Dominic ha ahorrado a nuestros huéspedes cientos de dólares al reservar excursiones. Nuestro objetivo es hacer este viaje tan memorable como sea posible y seguro. Perfecto para parejas, familias pequeñas o algunos amigos cercanos.

That was a second stay in Casa Castaway and loved every single day. The owner is very attentive of his guests and thought of everything to make our stay perfect. The property manager and cleaning lady are just leaving beside and that makes a huge difference to have them on site. In the future, l will look for the same so in case we need something, it is easy to get it. This villa has everything one family needs, from surf boards, amenities, kitchen stuff, etc.I strongly recommend this host and this villa!

Beautiful Property

This was a wonderful stay, the property had absolutely everything we as a family needed to enjoy our vacation, Daniel was such a pleasure to meet, we loved Pantera visits, the property is close to everything - gas station, grocery stores, Tamarindo is about 10 min away max, pool is very nice too, with iguanas visiting all the time, we loved the stay , highly recommend, thank you!!!

We loved our stay. The house was amazing and we loved the pool with the resident iguana. Fonz took a lot of time to talk to us about local recommendations from things to do, to places to eat. I really appreciated his availability. Dominic and Maria were super helpful too! A great place to stay!!!

Wonderful Vacation !!

We cannot say enough about Casa Castaway!!Alfons was very helpful with his recommendations from grocery shopping to restaurants and all the beautiful beaches that are in the area . The villa is amazing, comfortable and very clean , everything you can think of is there at your disposal. A home away from home .We enjoyed our daily breakfasts on the patio , relaxing by the pool or under the cabana and barbecuing an occasional dinner. The villas location is great, not right in the heart of Tamarindo but close enough and the grocery stores are not far. Domenic is a treat . He has many stories and it was a pleasure to meet him and Maria. Very special people . Pantera visited daily and we looked forward to her welcoming us back each day. Do not hesitate to book Casa Castaway. Our two weeks flew by and we look forward to visiting again some day soon .Thank you for sharing your amazing home . :)

Great spot to stay in CR

Wow, we really felt like we were in the perfect spot—both isolated and connected! Just a quick 15-minute drive from the lively coast, our family had the chance to unwind and enjoy the sounds of monkeys nearby. The house was super cozy and had everything we could possibly need. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Amazing stay near Tamarindo

Casa Castaway was a fantastic place to stay in Costa Rica. The pool and patio were inviting. The vibe of the house is a so cool between the surfboard decor and local art. The house is well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The location is close to many awesome beaches. We’d love to come back again.

The Perfect Home Away From Home

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely property! The location is perfectly located and just a $10-$15 Uber ride to various towns and beautiful beaches. It’s also right next to Guanacaste Children's Community Center, which was a big plus for our young kids! The house itself was wonderful! We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower and the nice lounge area by the pool, which was ideal for relaxing and catching up on naps. The daily pool service was a great touch, keeping everything clean and inviting. We were delighted by the abundance of wildlife around the property, which added a special charm to our stay. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals at home. Multiple surfboards, snorkel sets, and beach necessities made our days at the beach feel like we were locals. The property literally comes with everything you could ever need for a home away from home. Dominic and Maria were such a delight and provided us with plenty of recommendations for local dining and activities. Their hospitality truly enhanced our experience. We felt well taken care of and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique, equipped, and convenient rental!

Best VRBO ever

We’ve stayed at a lot of VRBOs in a lot of locations, and Casa Castaway ranks right up there as one of the best! It was so thoughtfully appointed. Tons of towels, plenty of toilet paper and dish soap for the stay. The kitchen has everything you need. Bathrooms even had cotton balls and q-tips. It was like being at home. Board games and card games that they kids enjoyed. We even found some liquid band-aid that probably saved us a trip to the urgent care when a kid cut her foot on some rocks. I even noticed car seats/boosters for young kids. Loved that Dominic was close by for any questions. Panterra was always waiting for us in the evenings when we got home from an excursion. She was the kids’ favorite part of the house, second was the pool! We felt very safe here. Overall can’t say enough about this place. If you’re thinking about it, don’t hesitate, just book it!

It has it all!

Our stay at Casa Castaway was terrific! This house has everything you think you may have left at home and more. We used the kitchen and the grill and spent a lot of time in the pool. The dog who lives on the property was so friendly and we enjoyed seeing him every morning. This place is private but is also close to it all.

I don’t think we’ve stayed in a property that was better stocked. You don’t need to bring a thing. There’s markets very nearby, and the location is central to almost everything. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures and comfortably slept our family with a whole different room to spare. Pool is beautiful.

This was our first time in Costa Rica, and I can’t say enough good things about this house! Extremely clean and very well-equipped and maintained. The house had everything we needed for our week’s stay with comfortable beds and sofas, the pool was perfect and a nice place to relax. The outside dining area was great, we ate breakfast out there each morning. Dominic was very friendly and was a great host. Pantera, the dog would visit us each morning and each evening to get pets. She also liked hanging out with me while I had my coffee by the pool each morning, The drive to town was not far, about 18 min. We had dinner at a few restaurants in Tamarindo watched the sunset and got to see a fire show We did a couple of excursions while in Costa Rica we did an ATV tour where we saw howler monkeys, we also drove the ATVs to a few other beaches, we made a pitstop at one beach and had the best mojito ever. We also did evening turtle nesting. It was a great experience and we saw quite a few turtles and even one laying her eggs. Overall, we had a great vacation Thank you Dominic and Pantera for making it great.

Great Spot in Tamarindo

This house is great! Bedrooms are comfortable, the outside dining area is great for grilling the fish you caught the same day, and the kitchen is well set up for making a nice meal. The best part may have been Pantera! Wonderful pup came to visit up both morning and evenings; quite but very happy to see us and get scratches. Super fun.

Great vacation

Our accommodations were exactly as shown in the listing. Extremely clean and very well equipped. We spent a month here and would highly recommend it. Excellent property manger.

Wonderful stay

Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with our group of 6, I felt like I had a true Costa Rican experience and made memories for a lifetime. Much appreciate you calling me personally and sharing all your tips and insight with me to make the most of our trip, that was invaluable. Some of the highlights: arenal Volcano hike, Hanging Bridges, zippling and Sloth Sanctuary in Monteverde, (need weatherproof and change of dry clothes in January, was very rainy) nightime turtle excursion. We were actually able to see a Mama dig a hole and lay eggs. Dinner at Nogui's watching the sunset was pretty spectacular. Would definately recommend a car to get around, driving there really is not as scary as I thought it would be. Biggest bonus to the house was Dominic and Pantera, the house dog , who visited us everyday. Peace, joy, and Pura Vida!-

Amazing experience in CR

Our family had a wonderful time spending a month in Tamarindo. This villa was quite charming and there was plenty of space for my family - it was actually very large! The little neighborhood was very cute and we liked the peace and quiet of the area. We had several questions ahead of our stay and Alfons was excellent and prompt about communication. We were disappointed that the pool was not finished in time for our stay, but we understand that building a pool can be a large undertaking. We did have some concerns about the cleanliness of the property, which we conveyed to the owner and manager. Dominic located a vacuum for us to use, though, so that was quite helpful. Seeing and Listening to all the wonderful birds and even monkeys around the property was very special. The drive to town was not far, but traffic was sometimes a bit crazy so we had to prep ourselves for that. Overall we made lasting memories and will be back to this beautiful country for sure!

Thoughtful hosts during our long stay

As many have already said, this property is special because of the people (and dog). Fonz was very responsive to any requests, and having Dominic onsite made everything easy. We moved to Costa Rica temporarily and stayed at Casa Castaway for 2.5 months so we got to know the house and area well. It's a good location, quiet and outside of Tamarindo, but be aware that you should rent a car to easily get around. The house is thoughtfully equipped and suitable for long-term stays. We will not forget it! (or Dominic, Maria and Panterra) Thank you!

Monkey Paradise

We loved our stay at Casa Castaway. Our favorite part was the space in the home for 3 adults and 3 BIG KIDS:):) We got to see the monkeys during the am and pm moving their families down the creek. This was a very peaceful location far enough away from Tamarindo beach to enjoy without the large crowd. We look forward to staying here again.

We had the option to purchase anywhere around Tamarindo and chose this area because we love the town of Tamarindo and all of the hustle and bustle but we didn't want to live in the middle of it. We preferred living in a central location with a short and easy drive to all of the amazing beaches and activities. We wanted to be close to the private schools and close to shopping in addition to being close to all of the amazing beaches.

A quiet and centralized location to many different beaches and activities. From our door step you can see monkeys, flocks of parrots and parakeets, iguanas and at night, fire flies.
