Great location, large and comfortable, some quirks

Fabulous location in a cool neighborhood with some fun restaurants! Close to Sao Bento station and easily walkable to everything in Porto but outside the downtown fray. ... Larger than expected, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms makes sharing the space very easy. Handy to have the kitchen with refrigerator and coffee machine. We loved the interior courtyard for morning coffee and evening aperitifs. The hosts are gracious and responsive. Be aware though, this flat is on a busy street, so on hot summer nights, you will have to choose between closing the windows to block out the noise and keeping them open to the street to provide some cooling.

Good place close to downtown but some caveats

The location is excellent. We walked to a river boat cruise and wine cellar your only 20 minutes away downhill. Uphill maybe 35 minutes back. We took the furnicular back, but was not worth 4 euros one way. The fresh produce market 10 minutes away. Grocery store 7 min away walking. But we walked there in the evening and one block from the apartment and one block from the grocery store (Coimbatre) was prostitution on this dark street. Not what I expected. But we felt very safe anyway. The apartment was big with 2 full master suites. My wife and I each loved the separate privacy for 3 nights. We could call our friends and talk individually without disturbing each others conversation. Regarding the facility, kitchen and bathroom faucets were ridiculously loose. That should be easy to fix. We didn’t see any paper towels and was only given 1 small dish towel for drying dishes. There is an induction plate in the drawer. There were 3 pots with loose handled that could be used for induction. There was a non stick frying pan that I tried for induction, but it didn’t work. Why have the pan there? I would have liked to see a small hot plate so someone could cook some eggs with the non stick pan. We had issues with the original front door lock. But the hosts father in law came and helped out. To me it’s a very confusing lock, but in the end we figured it out by using the simplest locking mode. The place is at least 100 years old so there was a lot of unique features. So I understand not replacing the lock. There was some street noise that could be heard from the front bedroom. Back bedroom fine. Overall, I think the apartment was fairly priced. But be aware of some of the issues I brought up. But there are a lot of positive things that I believe outweigh the negative.

A little disappointed, pictures on website are accurate but don’t reflect reality of property

Layout was very broken up. Doorknob to front door fell off on the first day. Needs a toaster and would be nice to have a washer/dryer. Was clean and the manager was very helpful. We had to leave early due to the corona situation. Location was good but room is in a very old building. Probably would book somewhere else if we come again. Expensive compared to our other rental in Lisbon.

Emplacement de choix

Excellente communication avec les propriétaires avant et à l’arrivée. Emplacement idéal pour visiter Porto , tout se fait à pied et d’excellents restaurants sont tout près. La chambre près de la rue est un peu plus bruyante par contre, mais pas pour rendre le séjour désagréable.

Central Porto

Good communication with Sophie and Sara, the location was very central but in a quiet neighborhood, also lots of restaurants and food market close by. The parking lot was also very close to the apartment.

Lovely apartment in central part of the city

The apartment is really lovely, with lots of space. It is perfect for two parties because its two bedrooms and bathrooms are separate from one another. The fotos on the website do it justice. The two landladies who rent the flat are very friendly as well. It was really great that we could check in later than 4 pm, because we arrived at 9:45 pm. Although we arrived quite Late in the day one of the landladies came to meet us and show us the apartment. The apartment is in a quite central part of the city, the city center is in walking distance and the metro station is also nearby. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great property

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We are a family of five and there was plenty of room for all. Not too close to the center of noise and business so the nights were quieter than if we’d stayed closer to the center. But close enough to walk to all the sights.

Really nice room-mate floor-plan apartment

Location: a bit off the beaten track, which is quite alright if you want to stay in a residential area (away from the party crowds) and close enough to the city center (10 minutes on foot). In the neighborhood there are a few good restaurants (B, L & D), small shops, a big grocery store (Pingo Doce) and a few specialty shops (wine stores, cured meats and cheese store) The Apartment: has the room-mate floor-plan, basically two spacious rooms with their respective bathrooms, separated by a long hallway. The kitchen and the breakfast area are between the two rooms. The bathrooms are spotless-clean. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook or just have breakfast. The managers are really nice ladies, very helpful, welcoming, ready to give you tips about the neighborhood and the latest tourist attractions. There is no view from one of the bedrooms, as is facing the back (really quiet though). The other bedroom is facing the street, but it's still pretty quiet since there isn't crazy traffic going on.

A Great Porto Location

We enjoyed the amenities of the apartment and the location was perfect. Lots of local restaurants all around which was exactly what we wanted, and we were only about 15 minutes walk from Douro riverfront area. One suggestion is to add a couple of comfortable chairs and a coffee table to the sitting area. There is only comfortable sitting for 2 people, and with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms more than 2 people would usually be in the apartment.

Beautiful appartment in beautiful porto!

Our trip to Porto was really special and the beautiful appartment made it even better. The check in time was flexible so we could get into the appartment as soon as we landed. We were welcomed really friendly and shown around the huge place! The appartments location is really good. Its just 3 minutes to several supermarkets and 10 minutes to the city by foot. From the airport there is a metro driving directly to the appartment (5min walk). The apperment itself is in an beautiful old building and the interior and decoration is really nice and comfortable. There is almost nothing to critizise accept there are not many kitchen utensils and only one cooking spot. Also the bathrooms have no good air circulation, so sometimes they smell a bit weird but thats totaly acceptable. I can totaly recommend this place and always would come back! Thank you for having us!

Excellent Choice

Our trip to Porto was compete with our stay at Aporto Apartment. Great neighborhood, 3 minute walk to square with lots of great restaurants, banks, supermarkets and stores. The apartment was one flight up. 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a small living room with a pull out couch that served as an extra bedroom for a single friend that accompanied us. The kitchen was well equipped with an interesting interior porch. It had a 3 story glass ceiling streaming lots of light into this area that also served as a dining area. It had 2 outdoor tables and chairs. Place was very spacious. The owner was great as he picked us up at the airport upon our arrival from the US. This was part of our stay and were not charged for this service. He also gave us an extensive tour of Porto before taking us to the apartment. He was always available for any advice we needed. Thank you for an early 9am checking and for your hospitality.
