Escapada de verano con playa privada de arena - Balm Beach - Tondakea

Esta es una cabina básica con una cama doble en cada habitación, una cocina comedor completa y una terraza privada con barbacoa. También hay un baño de tres piezas con inodoro, lavamanos y una ducha básica de aluminio para que uses. Al otro lado de la calle está nuestra hermosa playa privada de arena.

R n R Retreat es parte de un complejo conocido como Tondakea Lodge. Tondakea Lodge consta de tres cabañas de 2 dormitorios, una casa de 4 dormitorios y una casa de 2 dormitorios; Todo se puede reservar a través de VRBO (Ver al final de esta descripción). Ubicada frente a nuestra playa privada, al borde de un bosque de 27 acres, una vez fue el hogar y la escuela de Franz Johnston, del Grupo de los Siete artistas, y luego se convirtió en un centro turístico en los años 50. Aunque se han realizado actualizaciones a lo largo de los años, los edificios aún conservan su encanto original y su sensación rústica.

Disfrute de largas caminatas por el bosque, nade en las aguas cristalinas de la Bahía de Georgia, o dé un paseo de 10-15 minutos por el agua hasta Balm Beach. En Balm Beach tienes acceso a los karts de Balm Beach, al mini golf, al restaurante The Surf Family y al Georgian Grill & Family Arcade, que tiene las mejores hamburguesas que he comido.

Beach heaven

We continue to enjoy our now annual summer trip to this series of cottages. The views of Lake Huron are gorgeous. The sand beach and lake bottom made for wonderful long stretches of swimming. Will be back again.

Our favourite beach getaway

This was our third year staying here and it was fantastic as always! We love the private beach and the cabin is the perfect secluded getaway.

Terrific location!

This was our 4th stay here and it was great as always! The location is amazing with the access to the private beach. The cottage itself is simple yet has everything you need for your stay. We will definitely return again!

Great Time

The cottage is a real cottage. It's not a house masquerading as a cottage. The breezes coming through the windows were refreshing, and the sounds were pleasant. I personally really enjoyed what little time we spent inside the cottage, but I like rustic. With the windows open and the breezes moving the drapes around, I dunno, it was just nice and made my decision to leave my phone attached to its charger an easy decision.We came for the beach which is everything we could have dreamed of. The sand is smooth and continues out into the water for whats seems like infinity. Theres a few stones, but they are smooth and low and you dont notice them. Really, it's a perfect beach. I didn't sign up to the wifi, I never lost reception, I have no idea how good it is.

Perfect cabin!

We loved the cabin and its rustic charm! The beach was beautiful, and it was great to be walking distance from Balm Beach and the Georgian Grill. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was just as listed. The beach was spectacular.

The check-in process was simple and easy. Host was there to greet us upon arrival which was great. Access to the private beach was great. Cottage was fine for what we needed it for.

Delightful 4 day get away

Everything was super clean and the whole area was very quiet. Willie was an attentive host and answered all our questions promptly. We loved the beach, the dunes, and the water were absolutely perfect. Highly recommend any of these cabins. We will def come again next year.

Family vacation in the R&R Cabin in Tiny

Fourth year in a row staying at this cabin location and loved every bit of it. We have made so many family memories with this cabin and the fantastic private beach. The cabin is the perfect size for my family of four and the owners provide all the necessities which makes packing so much easier. I’ve never had any issues, we love the location, cabin, walking to the public beach and having access to a private beach. Thank you once again!

RNR Tiny Beach Retreat

Third year staying at the cabin and enjoyed it just as much as the first two. Owners have always been pleasant and communicative and super helpful. If you’re looking for an escape from the city, to a simple dwelling with a beautiful beach where you can reconnect with the family this is the place! The cabin is the perfect size for my teen children and my partner and I. BBQ every night and enjoy the nature surrounding the cabin. Love this place.

Great time!

Our stay at the RNR Cabin was very good ! It was our second time there and we love the private beach ! It is so close to the Cabin and the views are spectacular - especially the sunsets! The listing is as advertised - small, quaint cabin! Was a bit low on toilet paper, especially being pregnant !! Also would be nice to have oven mitts for cooking! Other than that it is a wonderful place and the owner and Bill is fantastic!

A Wonderful Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little cabin. Everything was clean, and we had all we needed for a really relaxing stay. The cabin is rustic and unpretentious, but that is exactly what we like. If you are the type of guest that needs granite counter tops, matching designer furniture, and an espresso machine, then keep scrolling. This is not your place. If you want a place that is clean, quiet, has its own private beach (!!!), and is just a simple place to build great memories, then look no further. We spend three nights of our tour around Ontario and agreed that more nights there would have been even better.

Beachside retreat ♥️

Our family of 4 stayed in the R and R cabin for 3 nights and we really enjoyed ourselves! The private beach is lovely and literally steps away. We swam for hours and enjoyed the sandy beach area as well. Our hosts were excellent at responding to our questions and ensuring that our needs were met. Willie thoughtfully offered to host a beachside bonfire for all of the cabin guests on our final night. It was awesome! The sunsets that we enjoyed watching from our private beach area every night were truly mind blowing. The cabins are located within easy walking to takeout and dine in restaurants. Our cabin was rustic but wonderful. Thank you Willie for helping to make our short stay so memorable!

You book this property for the private beach access and location. Beach is gorgeous and clean. The trek there is rugged. Not for the unsteady or mobility challenged. Beach Chairs, side tables and a beach umbrella was provided. Cabin was very clean. 1 queen bedroom(2 pillows), other bedroom had 1 double (2 pillows) and a single (1 pillow). They looked new and were comfortable. Full sized fridge was nice to have. All cooking supplies, salt, pepper, veg oil, dishsoap, Lysol cleaner were provided. I do suggest bringing hand towels for the kitchen. You’ll need more than one. Bathroom was big but shower was not great. Very small. Reminder me of a cruise ship shower. Good water pressure though but water smelled like rusted pennies as it is well water. It was very hot outside with no breeze so we were uncomfortably hot in the cabin. Fans were provide but the air was stagnant. Not sure if it will ever have a breeze because you are in the trees and low on the side of a hill. So if you need AC this is not the rental for you. We used the BBQ everyday but there is no grass area if you require that. The deck had a nice table set to sit at. There is no TV which was fine for us. We walked down to Balm Beach for live music and ice cream. This place was perfect for what we needed. We were barely at the cabin. Hosts we available by text if we needed anything. This place is great for young families and couples.

Family Vacation at RNR cabin Tiny

This is the second year in a row we have booked at the cabins with Willie and Ben. We enjoy their cabins very much. They’re simple and exactly what we are looking for. The private beach is always our favourite and the distance to the public beach area is very convenient, about a 15 min walk. The cabin comes with everything we need (like dishes, utensils, pots, and a bbq, as well as beach umbrellas and chairs) and the hosts are always so pleasant and helpful. The shower pressure is pretty strong so you just have to make sure the curtain is closed when you turn on the water to ensure the water doesn’t go everywhere. If you’re looking for a simple getaway with a clean and rustic cabin this location is the place to book. It’s becoming a family tradition for us! See you in 2023!

Great location

Cabin was as described. The private beach was spectacular except for all the garbage everywhere. Sadly, folks felt no need to clean up after themselves and the property manager didn't clean anything up on the beach during our stay. The property itself had lots of garbage everywhere although this may have been on the neighbors space, it did detract from the secluded feel of the cabin. The wifi never worked, but we weren't there to be on devices during our stay. It would also have been nice if we didn't need to unplug the fridge to use the microwave to avoid blowing a fuse, but again, we made it work.

Beautiful beach, it stops there.

Very primitive. Couldn't drink the water. There was a terrible looking permanent rental property right next door. Furniture and kitchen amenities were the leftovers of a garage sale. Disgusting shower. No TV. For the price, $1900 for 1 week, I expected more. I also expected more from VRBO. I thought I was safe using a company that would have higher standards. Beach was spectacular.

Rusty not Rustic and overpriced

The property is very old and rickety and looked like it had not been cleaned or maintained in over 50 years. The patio was full of bugs webs and the patio table was very dirty. The entire property was covered with bugs and webs inside and out. Although it’s called R&R retreat, I felt like I came in to open the cottage for the first time this summer. I cleaned for half a day. The shower leaked the whole time and the water was all over the floor creating a mess and slipping hazard. The shower head is rusted and would not turn and the shower curtains could not possibly hold the water in. The linoleum floor is old and peeling. The shower is extremely small with no room to move and shower properly. The bathroom has an old boiler in plain sight. The property is also leaning to one side and very old and smelled old and dusty. The furniture is ancient. The windows have no proper function and screens are busted allowing in bugs. There were no black out curtains for any of the bedrooms so we had to hang towels for privacy. The cottage is extremely run down and has no charm whatsoever and in desperate need of attention. Sadly this is the worst cottage we have stayed at and truly lives up to a cottage nightmare straight from a horror story. A complete renovation is necessary. I feel like we overpaid for our stay, a stay well below any reasonable standards. Owner refused to issue any form or refund or compensation. Beach was the nicest part, no complaints there.

Best location and comfortable accommodations

A great rustic cabin in the Woodsfield. Very comfortable beds and good amenities. I definitely want to go back, I love the place. The beach was just outstanding. Great location restaurants nearby grocery stores nearby. Easy in and out procedures.

This is our second year returning to this property and we will likely make it a tradition! The cottage has all the necessities for a great stay. The private beach is the best part about this spot!

Great little spot!!

This was the second year we’ve been, and we enjoyed our stay just as much as the first! Beautiful property with access to a private white sand beach. The cabins are just as stated, rustic and cozy! But everything you need is supplied. We’d definitely come back again!

Very disappointed

This cottage is described as “rustic” and “basic”. I would describe it as neglected and run down. The RnR Retreat hasn’t seen $1 of TLC many, many years. All of the plumbing leaks and is rusted or corroded. Both the kitchen and the bathroom have a damp musty smell, particularly the cupboards. Wearing flip flops in the shower is highly recommended. All of the floors are insanely uneven and dangerously bouncy, especially in the kitchen. Most of the light fixtures are either broken, missing a lamp shade or a light bulb. There’s shoddy exposed wiring in the kitchen and bathroom. The screen door latch is broken; looks like it has been for quite a while, which means getting trapped inside. There is NO privacy, which is not clear from any of the photos. The view from the deck is a parking lot. To one side, also not evident from the photos, is a very eclectic house with lots of activity, cars and loud music. And it’s 20 feet away. On the other side, the view is the steps and pathways to the other cottages, so lots of foot traffic. The living room furniture is filthy. There were adult foot prints on the couch. I’ve never provided a review such as this before. But 4 days after my return, I’m still bothered and disappointed and felt the need to share my views with others so that they don’t waste their vacation time and money on an overpriced dilapidated shack that didn’t even have a roll of toilet paper in the washroom when we arrived.
