Just to clarify a few points for future guests: the bedrooms downstairs are just as comfortable as those upstairs, and many guests find them peaceful and relaxing. Lighting downstairs is actually quite bright, although it seems it may not have been switched on during your stay. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we often receive positive feedback from guests who enjoy cooking during their visit. Regarding beach access—Ninety Mile Beach does change with the seasons, especially during king tides. The dramatic reshaping of the sand can be quite a spectacle, and it’s remarkable how it all returns within a day or two. It’s not erosion in the usual sense, but rather a natural shift that comes and goes with the tides. We do ask guests with dogs to stick to the downstairs area. Some pets shed on the carpet, and this helps us ensure the space remains comfortable for future guests who may have sensitivities. Just a small note about the track — it’s actually managed by the local council and Parks Victoria. On rare occasions the tide can wash the sand right up to the edge, but it always returns before long. Mother nature certainly knows how to keep things interesting.
