The host was very nice. The neighborhood felt very unsafe. The house was not well kept up. There were 3 tvs, 10 remotes and none of them worked. The washer also didn't work, I wish we would have been notified of that ahead of time.

The house was great and the vibe it gave was cozy and warm. We did run across a couple of things that needed fixing and when I notified the owner they instantly got on it and tried fixing it. The only things I wished they did have was a bit more cooking dishes like pans for the ovens and some bigger stove top pans. Other then that it was a great stay!

This was an excellent location to stay for jazz fest. 1/2 walk to the fair grounds and 20 mins to the bars on Frenchman. The outside of the house looks a little faded but inside is clean and tastefully decorated. The neighbors seemed friendly.

Great time in NOLA

The host was great, very friendly, provided us with the best places to eat and places to see. We enjoyed our stay very much. Great place to recharge on the comfortable beds and then play all day. This property is just a quick drive to the French Quarter and easy drive to the airport.

Host was great, communicative and helpful. She even helped bring in our instacart order when we weren’t home. The spot could use some cleaning and deep cleaning. (Ie: window sills with dead flies, doors wiped etc) the area is a lower income neighborhood so we didn’t feel comfortable walking anywhere or being outside long. Would recommend keeping that in mind while booking, but we didn’t have any problems with that while staying. Likely will stay in another neighborhood next time.

Diamond in the Ruff!

It was a very comfortable place to stay! The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy(actually worked out fine). It was very quiet. The host was very friendly and even stopped by to bring some extra supplies. She also gave us some good recommendations for dinner, etc. Thank you!

So cute!

This was a very cute home that you can tell they put a lot of love into. All the furniture and decorations are nice. Mattresses were amazing! Best sleep. In non-peak hours only for 10 to get to the French Quarter and 30 for the airport. Host was SO nice and gave us amazing food recommendations. I highly recommend this one.

Good experience,close to French Quarter, quite central

We really enjoyed the stay in this shotgun house, the host was most accomodating and upgraded us to the bigger version of the rental. It has everything you need. We ubered all over as, my 78 year old mother has a hard time walking and the rides were inexepensive as it is only 1.5-2 miles of where you want to go, There is a grocery store within walking distance, the neighborhood can be a bit rough, but improving, we felt safe at all times, and it was quiet. Overall, great place to call home in New Orleans.

Adequate place to stay

The property is in a depressed area of New Orleans (7th Ward), with a lot of houses is seeming disrepair, at least on the outside. This property is fine on the inside, clean and generally neat. The beds were super comfortable. The closets could use more hangers and the bathroom could use some hooks or bars for towels and face cloths. Angelique is sweet and helpful and attentive. Given the rate, it is a very good deal.

thanks Stephen for your feedback! We're always improving! Please don't have hesitate to ask for amenities. I have back up hangers and towels. I don't place all out at once. Property is in the heart of the city and neighborhood is still underway from prior storms.

Diamond in the rough

If you're familiar with New Orleans, you'll love it because you are cultured. If you're privileged, you may turn your nose up at the initial outer appearance of the neighborhood. I had a great 4-night stay, the host (Angelique) was friendly, helpful and informative. The neighbors were friendly as well. No issues, quiet at night and the restaurants in the area were great! The place was wonderful in fact, one of the cleanest vacation homes I've stayed in. Thanks again, Angelique!

Wonderful Place To Stay!

Even though the neighborhood could use some definite upgrades don’t let it discourage you from renting this adorable shotgun house! (Be sure to research what a shotgun house is prior to renting. It will save some confusion) Angelique was friendly, accommodating, and very helpful! Yes the home is older but we loved feeling like we stayed in a “real” house and it was spotless! We did not encounter any bugs and the neighborhood was quieter then our street at home. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean, and affordable place do NOT sleep on this house! 😁

Perfect place to unwind.

Angelique was the perfect host. She was kind and most helpful when it came to ideas for local cuisine. The house was perfect for all of us. Shot gun style homes are so neat. Kids thought it was the coolest. It was clean and a/c was a blessing after the hot days of walking around. There were some chairs to bring outside to enjoy the evening temperatures. Neighborhood was kind and quiet. We would sit on the porch until late into the night hanging out. I would highly recommend if you want a quiet place away from the busy touristy area. If we ever make our way back to NO we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Angelique it was a pleasure meeting you.

Thank you so much Angelique! Our stay was amazing from the first communication even before booking to our last goodbye. She was always helpful, easily available & genuinely a kind human all around. The place is quaint, cute and beautifully decorated. Reasonably priced and only 15 minutes from the hospital. Thank you again! Ps I fell in love with the neighborhood kitty - “Queeny”. I wanted to take her home to Nevada but hubby said no. I gave the next door neighbor, Myrna, her food, treats and bowls I bought for Queeny. If you are not a fan of kitties - the home is fenced in so she won’t bother you. 🥰🥰🥰

Dtsappointing location and interior layout

Neighborhood was marginal, at best with a lot of road work ongoing and abandoned lots.. Rental property had living room with a sagging sofa bed that made it uncomfortable as a sofa, 1st bedroom with no privacy, and 2nd bedroom with no privacy. We had to walk through both bedrooms to get to the kitchen and the bathroom. We locked ourselves out the 2nd night. Owner's phone was always busy and we communicated via texts. Owner was at an event and was initially unresponsive. Owner delayed making a decision on how to bring us a key. Finally, she agreed to let us call a locksmith, which we had to pay for in entirety, because owner refused to share the cost. We had to wait on the front porch on a darkened street for several hours before the locksmith drove up and opened the door for us. Inside, the spigots on the bathtub and the sink were difficult to turn on and off. There was no bathmat for the slippery tub floor. There were no drinking glasses. We disposed of 2 large cockroaches during our stay This was absolutely the worst rental we have made through VRBO.

Hi John, I'm sorry you didn't mention any of your concerns during your stay regarding the layout of the home. I also describe in detail the layout of the property. It's a New Orleans style home. A shotgun home. I'm not sure if this is you or daughter writing review but daughter was obnoxious and entitled when you all locked yourself out after you agreed I sent instructions to close the door and press the button to lock the door. When you contacted me regarding you locking the door from the inside, I responded while just arriving at a concert. I explained to you and daughter I was at a concert and to let me see if I can contact someone that could assist with getting a key and come unlock the door. Once I leave the concert, there is no re-entry and the ticket was a gift. You and daughter was very rude and impatient. I could not get anyone at that moment but the options were to hang out until I can get someone or as soon as concert was over, I'll be there. You asked and I agreed that you can call a locksmith if you could not wait but you wanted me to take the bill for a mistake on your part. I decided to leave concert early to get the key and come to your rescue only to find out once I left that you decided to pay the locksmith to get in. In your review, you also lied about waiting several hours to get inside. You failed to mention, you had a car to hang out until assistance came. I also called the VRBO platform to inform them of the situation while it was happening and they explained I was doing the right thing and if they wanted the locksmith it would be their cost. The platform called you and sent an email in real time. I do have drinking glasses and sink is easy to turn on and off. There isn't anything fancy with the knobs. I am disappointed that you would go the lengths you have to write a bad review. Guest can check prior reviews to see if they've had the same issues. I apologize for your stay but this has no bearing on future stays!
