Beautiful apartment, great location
Overall this was an above average experience for a home rental. The apartment is very spacious, it is clean, modern, light and bright. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large especially for Italian standards. The rooftop deck is amazing, the pictures don't do it justice! The outdoor space almost doubles the indoor space. The beds are comfy, the water pressure is great.
I loved the Trastevere location - very close walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and bars - also pharmacies and grocery stores. It has a very lively and fun nightlife! We were even able to walk to Trevi, Pantheon, Colloseum, etc from there.
The downside is that the owner lives there full-time and she just leaves the space for the duration you are there. So the cupboards, cabinets, drawers (with exception of a few) are all full of her things. There was no room in the freezer, and it just feels a bit awkward the whole time you are there. Additionally, there was a miscommunication about the use of the washer/dryer. She was very upset to learn we had used the unit and she had hired her housekeeper to come in one time to do our laundry for us. That was lost in translation and we ended up using it and then the housekeeper reported this back to her which resulted in a few terse messages that she sent to me during our stay. The VRBO listing has the washer/dryer unit listed and it was important for us to rent a place that has it as we had been traveling for a few weeks.
