Disappointing

Really disappointed, The house presented well although all beds where covered in dust bbq was very dirty and required cleaning before use gas bottle was empty All this was ok and fine except I was charged a cleaning fee even though the property was left in better and cleaner condition than on arrival. There is now way that house has ever been cleaned by a professional cleaner. I have before and after photos to prove it and will be taking this matter up further. Just wanted to warn everyone not to stay at this property in the meantime !

Our experience

4 of us stayed and we had some day visitors. While there are enough beds and kitchen items for a lot of people, the kitchen area might be a bit cramped with larger groups. We didn't realise until after booking that the owner required a cleaning deposit paid directly to him as well. This is not a practice recommended by Stayz/vrbo. (We checked). However we took all own cleaning equipment and chemicals, we left the place a lot cleaner than we found it, and our deposit was rapidly returned. We had a comfortable stay and it was nice to be in "old fashioned shack". Cliff views were lovely and birdsong at either end of the day was lovely. The shop has great coffee

Christmas at Bow Hill

A good property to stay at for the price. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Neighbours are very close but friendly. Bow Hill is close to Adelaide so not to far to drive. We really enjoyed our stay

Disappointing

Very disappointing, the house was dirty, not enough utensils for 9 guests, lights didn’t work, windows don’t open! It was a disaster! This property should not be a rental property – even the neighbors express their dislike towards the “holiday house” ! The communication for the owners was very detailed in things that you are not allowed to do and things you need to comply with at the exit of your stay, we found out the reason for all the rules in a cleaner doesn’t come and clean the property, it is expected the pervious guest leaves the house in a clean condition for the next guest – very unsure how this complies with COVID compliance. The absolute icing on the cake was the BBQ ran out of gas and we were asked to purchase the new gas bottle!

River shack relax

We enjoyed a chilly winter long weekend at Bowhill, the outdoor fire pit helped take the edge off. Located on a beautiful stretch of the river. Our stay comprised of 4 adults and 5 children and we were comfortable.

River holiday with family and friends

Absolutely great location. Riverfront property with cliff views directly opposite. Personal jetty good swimming area. Comfortable shack 2 fridges everything you need for a great weekend on the river. Everyone had fun will stay again.

DIRTY< NEGLECTED, REFUSED TO STAY

Mattress protectors were dirty, pubic hair, white stains etc, not washed in some time. Stove was dirty, fridge was moldy, not surface mold. Mold thick, would need steam cleaner to remove. Barbecue was filthy. Thick black grease and baked on food. Disgusting. Bathrooms dirty. Down stairs rooms dusty and dirty only accessible from outside, Bathrooms also outside under veranda, not inside, lawn cigarette butts and bottle caps everywhere. Picnic table in photo is from a shack a couple of doors down, not this one. We didn't expect flash, but clean would have been nice. This property is hugely misrepresented in the photos, they must have been taken years ago, sad, neglected, dirty. The only thing going for this place is location. Refused to stay. Even for cheaper price would still not stay here. Have photos to prove what I have said. A huge clean and some maintenance is required, even the decking is unstable in parts under foot. Didn't need/want a mansion but very disappointed

We had a great long weekend on the water with a couple of families. Couldn’t ask for a better location.

Great Location!

A great shack that had everything we needed in a great location and a family friendly environment. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay and we will surely be back to stay again!

Great spot for large group

We stayed here with a group of 10, the shack has everything we needed for the weekend and we had a fantastic time. The river in front is great for water sports! I would recommend this place, just make sure you clean before you go as we cleaned thoroughly but were charged $50 to clean the bbq and a toilet, sour taste left after a great weekend.

A wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our stay (2 families) at this house. Like most of the houses on the street it is basic accommodation but the long green lawn leading down to the Murray is nothing short of sensational. The kids had a blast on the lawn and fishing in the river. The adults were blessed with glassy water for wakeboarding and very much enjoyed drinks on the deck (an astoundingly beautiful view). We will certainly be back.

Perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at no. 123, it had everything we needed. We spent 90% of our time, over 3 nights, out the back, where there was a large grassed area with trees leading to the river. The view was beautiful! Unsure why there are negative reviews for this property, we found it suited us perfectly! (It's a shack, not a palace) Looking forward to staying again soon.

Disappointing!!

Not what is described, beach in picture does not belong to property, do not take your boat as nice beach on either side but not at this property. We have stayed at many shacks on the river and for the money this is overpriced, would suggest many other properties on the river before this one as far better value and properties available.No dishwashing liquid,no microwave containers, dining chairs with foam showing,sofas dirty looking, just to name a few. Needs money put into property if going to charge these rates.We were disappointed.
