Day and night fishing, breathtaking views of a sunrise over Charanchua bay, through the palm trees of a private park. This home has a unique view of the bay with no other homes blocking the view. NO WORRIES while your boat is protected from waves safely at the canal dock in front of your house. Fish from the dock for Redfish or trout swirling around the underwater lights at night right in front of the house. Let the kids fish while the adults enjoy the cool evening breezes in eyeshot of them, from the upper or lower patio deck. Nap in the shaded oversized hammock.

This is a 1700sq. 3 bedroom 2 bath home with large open living kitchen and dining floor plan. Whether you are sitting at the breakfast bar or the dining table, cooking eggs or watching Tv on the flat screen you have a view of the Charanchua Bay through the 13 foot window. A Waterveiw and or sunrise or sunset from everyroom. The oversized deck wraps around the living area. There is another 1700 sq.ft. of space under the house. A gas bbq pit and wood or charcoal smoker grill reside here for your use chairs and dining table. A deep freezer to store you bait and fish catch.
Quiet surroundings, boat ramp access. Charancua and Keller Bays are close by. Boat out to 'The Point' for a deserted sand beach experience of fishing or hunting seashells. Spend the day skiing or swimming in the bay.
Dolphins frequent the bay and the canals in front of the house.

15 minutes from town for shopping, dining, Port Lavaca beach area and a Super Walmart.

Wonderful stay

Beautiful

Beautiful home, great location. This home exceeded its description. Great place if you have a boat. We had kayaks and had a great time. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

The canals in front and around the house, allow a novice kayaker to explore and practice . Where a trip out into the bay to explore the islands and beaches are more challenging. I’m glad you got to enjoy the area.

What a gem!

We had the best stay in Port Alto! We have been coming here for years and have many friends with houses in the area. From the amazing finishes inside the house, to the outdoor views, to the area for our kids to fish, this place was amazing! We didn’t let the cold weather put a damper on our Spring Break!

House was awesome!!! Exceptional view, great living room and bed rooms. Plenty of room for the boat trailer. Room to dock the boat at night with water to wash down. If you love this fishing area, this is the place to stay.

We own a home here in Port Alto. We always have our friends and family rent this home when we need overflow. The accommodations are perfect and the home is always very clean. We love the fact we can always park our boat and jet skis at the dock and not worry about the wind or tide changing. It’s just overall a great location and very comfortable place to stay!

REALLY BEST VIEW IN PORT LAVACA PORT ALTO

Our family had an amazing time! The house was spectacular and we couldn't ask for a better location. I almost got left behind because I had to sit on the couch one last time to soak up the view. The grandkids asked if we can come back next year before we even left. The host was very responsive to our questions. The neighbors were more than gracious to our noisy grandchildren. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good place for making memories!

Great accommodations with a wonderful view

We had a great father, son, and brother's family fishing trip. The house was very clean and comfortable and the dock behind the house was very useful for fishing and access to our boat. Having a private boat launch near the house was a huge draw. There was plenty of parking for cars and trailers. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. Russ, the owner was very helpful with answering my questions and making sure we had a great stay. This trip has been an annual event for us but the first time in this house. We are definitely planning to booking this house again next year.

Saltwater Therapy

We had an opportunity to take a last-minute vacation with our children. Didn't want to travel far, just wanted to stay somewhere we could keep the boat in the water and let the kids throw a cast-net as well as catch some fish off a dock, right out the back yard. All while we could sit on the deck and watch. This place was perfect! Not only did it meet all of our needs, we had an extra bonus with Alexa. Our children thought they were DJ's and we're currently working on their pathetic taste in music, but being able to control the house via Alexa was a perk we didn't see coming. The point is, as a busy family we were able to bond more in a few days through everything from sitting together on a dock to impromptu dance parties with the absolute best views in that area!! Highly recommend! Can't wait to go back!

10 Stars! We had a wonderful stay!

From booking, through arrival and departure, everything went smoothly, but the best part of the trip was the house. The home was recently remodeled with tasteful choices of furniture, appliances, kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Usually when you rent a house, you know to bring enough paper towels, spices, toiletries for your trip and you expect there will not be enough pots or pans to cook a large meal. Not so here, Russ and his wife made sure of the smallest details. Knives were sharp, there were plenty of spices and pots and pans had lids!!! Beds were plentiful and comfortable. There were 6 adults, 1 teen and a 5 year old and we were not bumping into each other. The deck with the glass railing was perfect to sit outside during the day or evening,with the breeze blowing, to take in the view of the bay. Hopefully, Russ will have us back in the fall. It was a little warm to fish or crab, but that didn't deter the fishermen from trying. If you do not enjoy your stay here, then you must not like the coastal life. (the neighbor's are very nice too) Had a wonderful time and will return. Suzanne

Daughters 21st Birthday Getaway

This was our third time staying at Russ’s bay house. We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday with a great time had by all. Fishing off the dock at night and during the day was a big hit. Checking the crab traps for catch was fun to. We unloaded our boat and pulled it right in front of the house. Went fishing both days dodging the weather, but catching limits of trout each day. The cleaning table was very convenient to clean our catch. Morning coffee was had on the upper deck with great views of the water. Kids relaxed in rockers that were there and hammocks we brought. We grilled burgers on the propane grill on the bottom deck. Plenty of room for all as there were ten of us and the sleeping accommodations were perfect. Russ’s bay house will continue to be an annual trip for us. Thank you Russ.

Beautiful well decorated house but no beach anywhere nearby

We had a wonderful time at the house. The fishing was not very good that week from the boat dock. No place for the kids to swim and we tried for an hour or more to find the private beach that was mentioned but to no avail. Seems no one local knew where it was. We did drive 26 miles over to the beach in town that was nice. Very nice home for a get away to sit and enjoy the view of the bay but if you want a place with a beach to enjoy it isn’t there.

Amazing!

The house is beautiful and there is nothing like sitting on that porch looking at the water! We had an amazing stay and the kids had so much fun, maybe the most fun rolling down the hill in the grass! Loved it!

Had to go to Port Lavaca for work and turned it into a mini family vacation. Excellent property with a great location. Our granddaughters had a blast. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area. Thanks again Russ for being such a great host.

Great Get Away

Great place for a get away. Lots of room for an ample amount if people. The only thing we experienced was that two of our family members suffered severely with allergies. Especially while sitting and lying on the couch. Seems there has been some form of animals (cat or dogs) dander on the furniture. Aside from this, the stay was phenomenal!

Thanks Joanna for the feedback .Im so sorry some of your family members had allergies while staying at our home. We do not allow guest to bring pets to the house for this reason. the cause for allergies must have come from some other way.

Our company stayed here when working on a job. The house is beautiful. It had every amenity needed for work or pleasure. The owner, Russ was attentive and responded quickly. Definitely will give the house 5 stars!

Perfect home for a family gathering!!

The house was very clean, comfortable and had all the accommodations we needed, plus some!! My daughter lives in Port Lavaca, but had many guest staying at her house so I rented this house for my Mom, my Son and his spouse from CA. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. And the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cups and glasses. We were able to enjoy several sun rises and sun sets from the decks. Absolutely stunning. We will stay there again in the future and utilize the outside grill and canal with our boat. I use VRBO homes frequently in Texas and California. This house has been the nicest home I’ve ever used. I highly recommend it for adults, families, anyone looking for a very clean and comfortable stay.

Daughters 20th Birthday Getaway

This is our second time staying at this bay house. We enjoyed it the first time and were just blown away this time. The house had a total make over from top to bottom. Large ceiling fan in living room, new wood flooring, new counter tops and tile work in kitchen and restrooms, walk around upper deck with glass railing, new appliances and an screened in setting room on the deck to just name a few. Alexa also played your favorite song or made adjustments to the AC or lighting as needed. We celebrated my daughters 20th birthday here with a good time had by all. We fished, fried fish, BBQ’d and relaxed in their rockers and hammocks we had bought. The weather was great with a cool breeze blowing salt water air off the bay. Early morning coffee was enjoyed setting on the balcony looking at beautiful sunrises with the wife. Will try and make her birthday an annual trip, Thanks Russ.

Tracy and I have been married for over 29 yrs and have been coming to this area all of our life. having a teenager involved in sports and school activities has kept us involved and away from the bay as often as we would like. We therefore decided to share our home with friends and folks that would enjoy the coastal water as much as we do.

This house has an open concept living area great for gathering your friends and family. It also has over sized windows to view the water and bay. The window are hurricane impact resistant which makes them quiet and energy efficient. this helps keep the Air Conditioning working well on those hotter than normal days. With Three large bedrooms, there is room for privacy and room to sleep everyone.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Being on first canal facing the bay, the dock has protection from the waves and wind at water level. This is beneficial you plan to bring boats, kayaks or Jetskis with you. They will be well protected from the harsh waves or strong wind. Also the twin underwater fishing lights are unique to us. The red fish and trout swirl in the light at night to feed on the bait. Fish all day and night!
