7 day getaway

Everything was exactly what we expected and the view was far better than pictures could ever do justice for. Our only complaint which is beyond the owners control is the roads to the cabin. We were in an suv and it was really a very rough 5 miles of gravel. I wouldnt want to take a car or lower profile vehicle up.

Amazing Mountain Views!

This property was BEAUTIFUL. The mountain views were some of the best I've ever seen! We had great communication with the host, and we were even able to check in earlier than planned without a problem! The protest was also pretty clean. There was some dust and dead bugs in the bathrooms but nothing serious. My only complaint was the drive up the mountain to get to the property. It was rough even though we were in our big F150. But other than that, our stay was excellent.

A Cozy Mountain Dream

Wonderful stay. For the first few days we just said “wow” every time we looked out the windows. Which was a lot because there’s a beautiful view out of the ~dozen windows on the main floor. Would 10/10 recommend and go back. Cabin decor is updated nicely and everything was very clean. Had many things we usually have to buy - TP, paper towels, soap, laundry detergent, sponge, stocked spice cabinet etc. Wi-Fi is pretty spotty but that’s the nature of a mountain stay. We felt at home. Thank you!

The property was nice, but it lacked a few things. There was only one tv, which would have been fine, but it was downstairs where there was very little heat. The portable heater that was provided for that area didn't heat it properly. The hot tub was to dirty to use. And the oven kept tripping the breaker when we tried to use it.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the property, and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention.- I’ve spoken to the property manager about the points you raised. The stove and oven are gas-powered, so we’re not sure why the breaker tripped, but we will troubleshoot that to ensure it doesn’t happen again.- As for the hot tub, the property manager confirmed it was cleaned prior to your arrival, but we will make sure to double-check this in the future to prevent any issues.- We also wanted to clarify that there is a gas heater downstairs, which may have been overlooked. We’ll be updating our information packet to make sure it’s easier to locate, as the portable heater provided is just meant for additional comfort rather than full heating.- It's true there is only one TV, but we hope the beautiful natural surroundings make up for that! Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future with an even better experience.

Beautiful view & cabin & great views. We came to get away from the heatwave in Texas and we did! Definitely a rough road but we brought our all wheel drive and no issues. Rained a lot while we were there and we didn't get to see much wildlife. The internet was spotty but we kind of expected that being that high up in the mountains. The cabin was clean except the inside of the stove, but the rest of the kitchen was clean. Maybe someone just forgot to clean it before we got there? Had quite a thunderstorm one night and lost electric, but it was back on by the time we got up in the morning. Close enough to town to go in and eat when you don't want to cook at the cabin. Not too far from Breckenridge, so you can take a nice day trip there too.

5 STARS Everything in the cabin was clean and homey:) The only thing we were disappointed about was that in cabin instructions stated that the hot tub was for “Owners use only”. But there was a photo of it online when we booked. We were looking forward to this, and was a little disappointed and felt it was misleading. Other than that, the cabin was perfect. It snowed heavy while we were there, and we’re guessing that the owners had them plow out the snow from the driveway two days in a row, so it made it easy to come and go. Thank you very much!! Would highly recommend:)

Beautiful property

Property is beautiful. Pictures really don't do justice to the view which is amazing! Yes, you do have to drive a way out on unpaved roads but it's worth it. We were close enough to downtown Fairplay for food and groceries. Close to various trails for hiking as well. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. We enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful!

We came here from the East Coast for a long weekend and everything was just as lovely as the photos on the website. Amazing view although it was gloomy the entire stay. Gorgeous cabin, clean and nice and cozy. The road that leads to it is really bumpy and rocky we would suggest an all wheel drive with high ground clearance. On behalf of my fiancée and grandparents I want to say thank you so much for providing such an amazing place for the most peaceful and relaxing time that we all needed. Beside all the wonderful things above, here is just a little note from my grandma “your pillows for the bedrooms suck”

Great remote property with beautiful views

This property is incredible! The views from basically every room in the house are nothing short of spectacular. We enjoyed our stay there. Abe, the owner, is wonderful and responsive and I highly recommend this stay. We did have a couple of challenges that are important if you're considering booking. First, the elevation is one of the highest in the area and we were visiting from a very low elevation area. Two members of our party suffered from altitude sickness which took them out for the first 24-hrs. I would recommend acclimating in Denver or another lower elevation area before coming to this property. Second, this property is remote. The nearest large town, Breckenridge, is about a 45-minute drive. Additionally, this area is accessed off the main county road via an unpaved road for about 5 miles or 12-15 minutes. They recommend a 4-wheel drive; I'd say it's required. We had a 4-wheel drive SUV with snow tires and still found ourselves slipping and sliding on the sharp curves and getting in and out of the garage. The roads are not plowed often, given the remote nature of the area, so if you are staying between Oct - Apr, plan for a sturdy vehicle. Finally, I'll add that our experience with the manager of the property (not the owner) was less than great. We asked for information around how to get out when snow was piled on the driveway and our car was slipping and sliding, and his response was nothing short of rude and combative. Their policy is that they will not clear the driveway until snow accumulates to at least 4 inches. When we shared that we were still struggling to get out even though there was less than 4" snow on the ground, we were met with disdain and overall unhelpful and rude behavior. Again, we're giving this property 5 stars because it's incredible and the owner shouldn't have to suffer for an unprofessional and deeply unhelpful management company. Hopefully they resolve their challenge soon.

Amazing views and small town location, the water did go on and off though...

The check in process was very easy, the drive up wasn't that bad, we made it in a Toyota Camry!! The Cabin was outstanding, clean, and had the most amazing views! my friends and I had the most awesome time, relaxing on the deck, and taking in the most amazing views!! I was very happy to celebrate my birthday there with my friends!! The only problems that came up was the water throughout the house kept going out on and off for about 2 days... it went out while people were showering, or doing dishes...very inconvenient. Other than that I had the best trip ever and I would love to go back!!

Great Weekend Escape

The property was exactly what our family was looking for. It was perfect for our family (Mom, Dad, Grandparents, 2 kids under 6). The house was clean and the views spectacular. We would be happy to return again.

Heavenly Hideaway

What a fantastic location! We are hikers and couldn't believe there was a great hike just at the end of the road that goes up to Pennsylvania Mtn.!! The decor is very tastefullly done, all new appliances, the BEST we have ever stayed in regarding provision of fresh towels, soaps, dishwasher detergent, just about every detail taken care of! One Safety comment is that the bathtub is VERY slippery, needs grips on the floor of it/ The refrigerator (freezer) had been overlooked in the cleaning, but I cleaned it out. It is SO quiet, peaceful, and it even snowed in mid-June!!!

Great mountain getaway

This cabin was great, amazing views and clean inside. They had a baby gate and a pack and play available, we didn’t know it would be there but it turned out to be an awesome benefit for us. Kitchen was fully stocked and the pantry had tons of spices and dry goods available as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Mountain getaway

We absolutely loved the house and location. House was fully stocked with essentials plus more! The house was clean! We had the best time using the sleds, snowboards and snowshoes. You definitely need 4x4, but it’s not a scary drive up! Cannot wait to stay here again!
