Wonderful OBX house in Dick

Great house….5 bedrooms, many bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, LR, several dining areas (inside and out) rec room and a pool! Nicely furnished, comfortable beds. What more could you want? All this and only about a block and a half from the beach on the ocean side. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Short walk to the beach, outdoor areas were great and we had a corn hole tournament by the pool. We had a few things that needed fixed but they were addressed quickly. The hot tub had a leak which needed to keep being filled but the pool guy checked it several times. Would stay here again.

Very good vacation

Big house, lots of rooms and good soundproofing. Kitchen appliances were lacking, there was an issue with the garbage disposal, but the house had a great layout and every room had a deck with deck furniture. The views were mostly of trees which also provided lots of bird sounds. The furniture in the house was very comfortable and there was plenty of seating for our group.

The home was situated in a tree filled area which helped with the sun’s rays. The multilevel home was accurately described but older members of our family had a difficult time going up and down stairs multiple times a day. D.J. was the realtor that we used and she was awesome!Small problems such as a mirror being held on the wall in a bathroom with a very small nail which fell to the floor and pulling the towel off the rack in one bathroom caused the entire rack to fall.Overall, a wonderful experience.

All had a blast nice home and pool. I do have issues with several things, the deck railings are in terrible shape and should be repaired ASAP. Three of us including me stepped on rusty nails that have fallen from the house. Very dangerous!! we all had stabs and blood from the nails. Not terrible just glad it wasn't kids. Otherwise the propert was great. Thank you but fix the rails and clean up the nails !!

Brown Vacation

The table umbrella for the the pool area was broken prior to us arriving and thrown outside the fence. The hammock was ripped and unable to be used. prior. The blue wooden steps which I assume were for the hot tub were broken prior. The pool pump quit working but was taken care of very promptly by maintenance. There was a wet spot on the 1st landing coming up the steps from the ground level that was there prior and never went away the whole time we were there, unsure if was from a plumbing issue or a leak from the outside as it did rain quite a bit.

The beach is a short walk away, and we were able to drive close to the access for our seniors. The kitchen is amply supplied with plenty pans, dishes, and utensils. Beds were comfortable. I highly recommend this house. Ignore negative comments in other reviews; we are picky and loved it!

First Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house suited our needs for three separate groups: one couple; one single; a couple with two kids (8 and 11). The beach was a short walk. The pool and hot tub were used daily, although the steps to the hot tub are rotted and should be replaced. The downstairs game room was perfect for gaming, drinks, and TV breaks. Suggestion: have the full bed be a queen, as the kids' rooms are together with that full bed which is small for the parents, and all share the same bathroom. It is more of a family suite. The decks provided nice evening star gazing and morning coffee views. The kitchen was big enough for all to sit and eat. We enjoyed it all.

Relaxing vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a very good vacation. The beach was great and weather perfect except for a day and a half. The house could definitely use some attention. The screened in porch is infested with spiders , as well as the porches outside the bedrooms. There are cushions lying on the decks with spiders nests in them as well as windows and doors covered in webs and spiders. I do understand that spiders are part of the environment but the home has not had any recent attention to these issues. There are also ripped screens and broken light fixtures. We also paid for the pool to be heated. I called on Sunday and again on Monday before it was rectified. Also no one called or texted that the problem was fixed. We did enjoy the beautiful community and the spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

We swam in the ocean and the pool, fished in the sound and ocean and kayaked in the sound and did some tourist things, love the dunes. All was a lot of fun. The traffic in and out was horendous and did not leave a ggod feeling.

Wonderful Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at Climate Change. We stayed at a different house on Sea Tern Drive last year. We loved the privacy of the road and non-crowded beach so much so that we decided to stay on Sea Tern again this year. Climate Change is a short walk to the beach. The outdoor pool and hot tub area is very spacious. It rained a few days we were there, so it was really nice to have the rec room space with the TV, mini kitchen, pool table and foosball table. Overall the house was nice, but could probably using a little TLC and upgrades over the offseason. The outdoor porch areas were pretty spider infested and could probably use some good power washing. The deck also had a lot of splinters.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home has a great layout and is on a wonderful street close to the beach. However the overall upkeep on the home is poor. There are virtually no screen on the entire home so on a nice day opening the windows without bugs is not possible. When we checked in every outdoor light was not working. All had burnt out bulbs! the outdoor umbrella was completely broken and the main bath tub did not drain when we arrived. The screened porch off the kitchen has screens laying on the floor indoors and is not clean. Beach Realty took care of all the issues we called about however a proactive look at what is happening with this home should occur

Not as special of a place

It was the First time for the family and friends to the outer banks. Overall the property was not terrible but the lack of details and cleanliness were the reason for the low rating that I would give this place. There was also damage to the screens which would not allow us to sit on the back porch which was screened in. There were also a number of window screens that were missing. Initially the property was only stocked with eight towel sets. There were 8 of us staying there so that would have required us to to do laundry every day for those who do not typically re-use a bath towel more than once a day.. finally got this resolved with the management company who wanted to charge more for additional towels. Ridiculous response since the management company didn’t provide enough towel sets to start off with. Finally received the correct amount of towels after going back and forth with the management company. Pictures are a bit deceiving on VRBO vs the real thing. Again the overall lack of maintenance and cleanliness were big reasons for us to provide a low rating. We would most likely look for another rental unit in the future

Climate change at Duck

The keyless check in process was great. However, everyone’s check in must have been at the same time-it took us an hour and a half to get the last 5 miles to the home. The cleanliness of the home was lacking. There were dead bugs splattered on the walls. The main floor smelled of spoiled seafood. There were no sheets for the pull out beds. The screen from one of the windows of the screened in porch was laying on the table and that area had not been cleaned in a long time. The entire storage container by the front door was full of dirty linens from the previous stay. The stove for the house would not heat properly-had to cook everything on high and then it still took forever. We ended up leaving a day early from our vacation.

The layout of the house is perfect and the pool area is a great space. I would recommend and update on the appliances as the numbers for the dials on the stove had worn off making it difficult to adjust temps on the burners and they took a long time to heat up. Other than that the house was great and I would definitely stay again.

Close to the beach! The house with many steps!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the house was great! Close to the beach. The pool was a little small but we spent many afternoons there! The flies were a problem though. We went end of season and it showed. There were many maintenance issues that we worked around. Thanks to the last users of the grill we were unable to use the first night(filthy and no propane). We loved the 2 refrigerators and ice machines. We certainly got in our "steps" each day:) New/updated kitchen utensils would be nice. We were looking forward to the Kayaks but the weather didn't cooperate. The bike tires were flat so didn't use those. We did have great family time during this crazy Covid experience! Would I recommend to a friend? (I was hesitant to answer this)..(needs some issues fixed first)

Lovely house

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Traveled to OBX during the pandemic year and were nervous about making the trip. We stuck close to the house and loved how quiet the beach was and that it was only a 4 minute walk from the house. Climate Change could not have been more comfortable (except for some prickers in the front grass that got stuck in our dogs' feet). We loved the comfortable great room and the rec room in the basement. The pool is on the smaller side but the deck and environment was so pleasant. Great hot tub and comfortable chairs. The realty company was responsive to all questions, and we really appreciated the owners allowing an extra small dog at the last minute. Overall, a great place--absolutely recommend and hope we can stay there again.
