Thank you for your comments, as far as we are aware the pool heater was on and generally remains so but there is a maximum temperature for which the pool heater is set and to exceed this would incur the rapid breakdown of pool chemicals. There is a weekly pool check for chemicals and pool maintenance. With respect to the outside speakers built into the structure of the house, these worked on a very old and outdated stereo system which has long been defunct and in light of modern means of listening to music and dialogue has never needed to be replaced. The speakers, if removed, would only leave holes in the ceiling. Any beach chairs in the garage were left by previous guests and not provided by us. Thank you for visiting

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for leaving a review. We appreciate it. The checkout instructions say to start the dishwasher (not that you can't leave clean dishes in it) and start a load of laundry before you leave. The instructions do not say to remake the beds, we have never suggested that the beds are made by guests.

Whilst we were desperately sorry that the renters had to leave the house, the water leak was under foundations of the property, requiring a plumber to tunnel under the house to repair three leaks. The water had to be turned off because we were losing approx 100 gallons of water an hour. This couldn’t be completed easily or quickly. We did all we could from here in the UK as did our team on Marco, to ensure the guests were moved quickly so as not to spoil their vacation. VRBO were contacted immediately the problem became known to us and we were told that the guests personally had to request a transfer of properties, we couldn’t do it on their behalf. The guests were told and were provided the correct contact details. Regarding the refund. We only receive approx 70% of the overall fee that VRBO charge, so therefore we can only refund from the monies we receive from VRBO We refunded all the days that the guests couldn’t stay PLUS the pet fee. Pool heating costs us in added electricity charges so that is passed onto the guests, especially now the fuel costs are so much more expensive. Insurance is a necessary evil as we have had previous guests leave the house in a terrible state and have had to pay for repairs and extra cleaning. The pet fee is another essential as it takes extra cleaning time after a dog has visited to ensure pool, yard and house are thoroughly cleaned The house cannot be provided without these extra charges otherwise we will end up paying for people to be on vacation there. Our manager provides a detailed quote before each guest decides to book so that is the time to make the queries regarding extra charges. We endeavour to be very fair to ALL of our guests and our team on Marco are superb and will do all they can to help. All of our previous guests have loved the property and indeed we have many return visitors This was an totally unforeseen event that was dealt with as soon as possible
