Getaway

My parents lived on Kiawah Island 25 years ago. It was great revisiting the island. Our stay was off the beaten path at the far west beach. We enjoyed the amenities and the house. Was a great getaway for my daughter and two grandsons.

Very clean with great kitchen supplies & lots of towels for bathrooms. Comfortable beds & linens. Easy access to the beach with a bike. Quiet neighborhood.

31 Inlet Cove

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Kiawah Island! Our experience with VRBO, Akers-Ellis Rentals and the house we stayed in was just right for all of us. The rental process through VRBO was easy and the communication with Akers-Ellis was very good throughout. 31 Inlet Cove was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was also convenient to all we wanted to do. We loved spending the early morning hours sitting on the deck. The Akers-Ellis bonus activity rentals came in very useful for bringing the children to the beach and the process for that was easy as well. We had a fabulous time and certainly look forward to visiting again. (A few housekeeping notes-the primary bedroom box spring makes a lot of noise, there are a few loose electrical outlets, and the gas fire pit does not work.)

We will have our team take a look and address them as needed. It is important to note that guests do not have access to fireplaces in home as it poses a safety concern. We do try to ensure all guests are aware of this within the rental agreement we require to be returned at the time of booking.

Some Issues

As soon as we checked in on Saturday there was an issue with the dryer. The dryer did not dry the linens from the previous guests so we had to hang them up around the unit. There were only 2 washcloths for 6 people. After a few phone calls we finally got the linens on Thursday. As it turns out, the dryer was never fixed the entire week we were there. The washer & dryer unit look to be about 40 years old. The floors could use a better cleaning. And there are only 2 chairs on the deck, not 4.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback of the home, and please again accept our apologies for any issues experienced during your stay. From our notes, we do see that your party arrived prior to the 4pm check in time while housekeeping was still working. At that time, linens were still in the dryer and we were yet unaware of any issues with the dryer. Unfortunately, mechanical failures happen and maintenance issues arise unexpectedly. In this case, the belt on the dryer was broken and the new part had to be shipped and didn't arrive until after your departure. We are glad we were able to bring out more linens to assist during your stay. I have passed your notes regarding the chairs to our property manager to look into replacing as two of them had to be removed due to their deteriorated condition.

overall , a nice get-away

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: we love the part of Kiawah where this house is located, nice cottage w excellent bike rental service (the bike rental credit was a nice bonus!) Linens in house were not the best quality, scratchy, and some blankets / bedspreads not clean but there is a washing machine and someone left extra soap so that was great. Not a "homey" rental, but everything is new and white. some attention to detail like having a bedside table on both sides of beds or more towel hangers, etc would be nice, but overall a lovely stay. we are deeply troubled by how Kiawah is allowing natural habitats to be destroyed or altered by so much development.... so sad. Nature is why we come but we may have to chose a new destination....

Fantastic weekend getaway

We ran the Kiawah marathon, and this was the perfect accommodation. Close to everything (including the start and finish lines), comfortable, clean, and spacious.

31 Inlet Cove

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were mainly positive highlights but a couple of glaring errors that were more thoughtless than errors. We were locked out of the complex on Sat because of the change in codes, a very easy thing to communicate to clients. The upgrade in the property is nice but not quite complete. There were zero toilet paper roll stands or wall affixed rolls. There was not updated kitchen supplies; dull can opener, no wine glasses. In addition, the master had a pretty dirty duvet that we were not able to use. The rooms were otherwise clean and the updates make the room feel clean.The joint rental credit seems sketchy. There was not a number to call when helmets did not arrive or when bikes were squeeky. I was charged almost $350 for bikes and helmets for 5 days which seems excessive and a clear money grab by Akers.The agents with Akers were responsive, answered the phone. We were content in the property but I would hesitate in recommending Akers or the property.

We simply provide the credit towards their products, and they reach out multiple times prior to arrival to ensure our guests have the opportunity to utilize it and contact them as needed. Review of 31 Inlet Cove, Not what we hoped

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home looks great in pictures, but isn’t in the greatest shape when you see it in person. The refrigerator water & ice dispenser did not work upon arrival. We tried to get the RO system working, but it never did. There is water damage and mold in the living room ceiling that was causing breathing issues for my husband all week. We killed a few cockroaches daily inside the home. The mattresses were all less than desirable. There were no curtains or blinds for the kitchen or dining area so people were always looking in as they went past. Also no blinds/curtains in the sunroom area where my 9 year old slept so he was up with the sun everyday. The master shower is incredibly small and the door to the bathroom doesn’t shut. The kitchen was lacking in useful pieces to make meals for a family. It would be nice to add hooks and towel holders throughout the house so we wouldn’t have to drape our damp beach stuff all over the dining chairs. The wooden decks & bike racks were amazing, as well as the grill. We have been coming down for 5 years to Inlet Cove and decided to try another house this year- we will not be choosing this one again. The beach, pool, dock were all fabulous and what brings us back to Kiawah each year! Unfortunately this house this year did not add to our experience.

We are sorry to hear of any issues that you experienced during your stay. Unfortunately, I don't see that any of these were reported to us while you were here, and thus we did not have the opportunity to address them. I have passed your comments to our team to investigate and address each one as needed. I can advise that the water damage you advised was remnants from a previous issue that was fixed prior to your stay. Our team did find a bit of mildew that was easily cleaned, but no mold was found in the home. Please be assured that we value the health and safety of our guests, and take these reports quite seriously. Should you have any issues in the future, per our rental agreement, we ask that you advise us immediately so that they are able to be addressed to better serve both you as our guests and the owners of the home.

Wonderful neighborhood Great location

We had a great time here with our family. The island was beautiful and this neighborhood was nicely tucked away, but close to the beach and short bike ride to all the hot spots. House was modern and clean. Bikes are crucial when you visit, so book ahead of time. Wonderful island, will definitely be back!

Kitchen if fully stocked with utensils, dishes, and pots/pans. Only thing is that the can opener doesn’t work. This house is on the street before security guard station. Public beach is the closest to this house, bike ride or walk there. We drove to the beach located at boardwalk 5, where is more private, less crowded than the public beach.

Very very disappointed the pool was closed and were not notified until we went To swim. A note at the pool. 4 family’s were staying in inlet cove for a one A year family reunion. This was our 4th year.
