Disappointing
On the positive side, the apartment is very well connected to explore Paris. It is also very nicely furbished, comfortable and looks very good, in fact much better than the pictures! We also had a warm welcome by the caretaker despite our late arrival – even later than planned due to flight delays.
On the negative side, lack of proper cleaning was evident, especially on cookware and dishware, but it was also applicable to other utensils in the kitchen. Bed linen was no exception, especially the spare set of sheets.
And this was not caused by an inadequate cleaning job after previous customers’ departure. In fact, the refrigerator gave off stink when opened – and the reason was simple: some packaged food leftovers from previous customers had been lying there for YEARS, according to their expiry dates! We had to throw away most of them and clean the fridge before storing our own goods. We would have been poisoned if we had mistakenly eaten any of that stuff! Yes, admittedly that food was not provided by the owner, but she is indeed responsible for providing a clean refrigerator and free of -literally- rotten food.
In summary, under these circumstances I cannot recommend the apartment – which is a pity, because it’s really nice.
