Great home could use a few fixes
For reference, we have stayed as a family in other Cape Coral rental homes over the years, so we knew what to expect. Some of the pros: Location along the canal Photos were accurate to how the house looks/features.Having kayaks/paddles/life vests was great, we all enjoyed this feature.Cons:There's a hot tub (not pictured on this listing), which was a great surprise. However, it needs to be maintained. We found it dirty with several rocks/debris in it. It also gave us an "HH" error code twice, while the temperature was cold. A quick search online showed it had to do with the filter. But, we are on vacation, why should we be dealing with this, and it not be maintained properly by the rental company? Another problem was the screen door (as you exit the home to the right) does not close properly no matter what you do. What does this mean? Getting bit by mosquitoes and no-see-ums at dusk. I would definitely fix this promptly as it really negatively impacted our activities during the time the biting insects were most active. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the washer and dryer might need some maintenance. On our first cycle with the washer, it never locked and therefore did not wash the clothes properly. On the second time it did. Similar experience with the dryer, the first time it was set, the machine did not even get warm. We set it a second time, this time using the timer feature, and that's when our clothes really dried. Other than the above mentioned cons, it really is a great home to stay in Cape Coral. Loved the location. The home is spacious enough to where we had 7 people staying, and plenty of space. Well stocked kitchen. Would we stay again? Yes... But hopefully the above items are fixed.
