Penthouse Retreat es el condominio más grande y único de 3 habitaciones en First Flight Retreat, que es una comunidad frente al mar. Cuenta con techos de diez pies, baldosas de cerámica y alfombras en todas partes. La sala de estar tiene un sofá cama Queen donde podrá relajarse después de un día en la playa. Este gran condominio cuenta con 2 habitaciones king y la tercera habitación tiene un Duobunk con un nido con capacidad para 4. Todas las habitaciones disponen de TV y también hay un reproductor de DVD. Una cocina totalmente equipada con encimeras de granito, electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable y una nevera para vinos es todo lo que el cocinero gourmet necesita para entretenerse. Puede ver el océano desde uno de los tres controles deslizantes orientados al sur que conducen a un balcón privado de gran tamaño. Este condominio en el tercer piso ofrece fantásticas vistas al sureste del océano. La gran terraza tiene una mesa alta y 4 sillas desde donde se puede disfrutar de una taza de café por la mañana o una copa por la tarde. Penthouse Retreat está convenientemente ubicado cerca del lado de acceso a la piscina y la playa del complejo. Solo un viaje rápido por el ascensor hasta el primer nivel lo deja a pasos de la hermosa área de la piscina con una piscina de agua salada, bañera de hidromasaje y tumbonas para su comodidad. Perfect for quick stay

Girls Week in OBX

We opted for this property mainly for the oceanfront view. The mattresses were not firm and several in the group had back issues with the soft mattresses. We had plumbing issues (clogged sink, faucet that needed fixing) and a plumber was called and only availability was at 7:30am (not ideal for those vacationing). Several dishes were cracked and need replacing. We requested a new skillet to cook with as the one there was in rough condition (and a new skillet was brought immediately). Overall, it's a beautiful condo - just needs some routine upkeep.

High price-poor cleanliness

While everyone was respectful of social distancing also staying in the condos, there was nasty dust everywhere, caked on the blinds etc. There was specifically a sign posted in the single musty elevator that said the HOA couldnt keep these locations cleaned according to CDC standards nor were there sanitizing stations/any cleaners ever witnessed. $4500 for a decent property (but a condo when usually houses are half this) that could not even be cleaned properly sucked.

Pool and hot tub not usable for the year

Great location and side view of the Atlantic. You will have to stare at the guests next door on their decks but you still have a great view of the might Atlantic Ocean. It was also nice to have underground parking. Big issue with us is that we paid for a pool and sea venue. We were later told that the pool would not be open for the season due to failed inspections and could not be fixed for quiet some time. They did not offer ANY reduction in cost. They did offer YMCA pool use three miles away. That's not what I paid for or wanted. Nice place to stay but front bedroom was hot and we had to put a fan in the hall and leave the door open for air. Also 3rd floor had no working air in hallway and may have contributed to heat in front room. If pool was working would definitely consider again but this trip left a bad taste.

First vacation

This place was very nice for our 1st time there the weather every cold the 1st 3 days we were there and this place was nice because we was inside and we were all able to still be comfortable

Frustrating.

I chose this property because of balcony with ocean view. I get there and there was a huge couch blocking the view from the living room blocking the sliding door to the balcony. I decided to rearrange the furniture. When I did I found a sign on the door saying it doesn't open. I got the feeling they had no plan to fix it. There was a door to the balcony from the dining room but it just wasn't as convenient. I never had any contact from the property manager. I was there for 5 nights but her days off evidently coincided with my with my first 2 nights there and no one ever contacted me to see how I was doing. There were lots of minor problems like no hangers in the closets, musty smell in a bedroom, couldn't figure out how to work the diswasher, and never got the TV in the bedroom to work. Not a good place for a senior citizen. Child size toilets, no handrails in the bath, etc. This place was a backup choice. I made reservations over 3 months early and one week before my trip VRBO cancelled the reservation. VRBO has a rebooking team but they provided absolutely no support. Lack of support and communication made this a less than satisfying trip.

Hello Jane- our office always sends a text to check on our guests, but it appears that you were missed. Our apologies. I personally went to the condo yesterday after receiving this review and took photos of a glorious view from the living room. The set up in that room is small but comfortable, that is why the owner has the furniture placed in the manner they do. Guests should not move furniture around in someone's property. There are two slider doors and the one that is accessible is literally feet from the other, so I am not sure why that was not convenient. All minor problems could have been resolved very quickly with a call to our office. In regards to hangers, there were some in the condo just very few so we have taken care of that and would have been happy to do so while you were here. I ran the dishwasher with no issue by hitting start button. All TV's were working. Toilets are normal size, not raised but that is owner personal choice. Handrails are also not advertised for the bathrooms. I could not smell anything musty and apologize that you had to experience that. Beach Stay

All was fine except the condo needs a thorough cleaning. Beautiful ocean view and the 3 bedrooms were great for our family. Kitchen items need to be organized and things not needed cleaned out.

Convenient

Enjoyed our stay in the three bedroom condo. Very conveniently located close to the elevator for easy access. Especially loved there was access out to the beach that did not involve a single stair for an aging parent. Nice size kitchen and rooms. Dishes could use a deep cleaning. Besides that we would definitely stay again.

Disappointing Condo

This unit is in poor shape. 2 of the doors to the patio were inoperable and the third was only partially usable. The wine fridge is useless, not cold enough for white wine. The kitchen is filled with excessive wine openers (6) and over 20 knives but no working can opener. Most of the pans were worn and unwholesome looking. I expect hype in the listing but this was in the realm of dishonesty.

The whole experience was very easy start to finish! Only issue I had was I expected a sleep Sofia but there isn’t one in this condo. Over all was a great vacation!

Great location and lovely beach

We loved kill devil hills as a location for exploring the outer banks. 20 mins to Duck or Manteo, 5 mins to Wright brothers memorial and the wonderful dunes at Jockeys Ridge State Park. The beach was close and easily accessible and we loved walking there and watching the shoals of porpoise. The property was fine, could have been cleaner, carpets need a good steam clean. We knew the pool was closed, but it would have been nice to know that the fitness room and spa were also closed ;-( In view of the lack of facilities the property was overpriced. It was also difficult to reach the rental company when we needed maintenance to stop the smoke alarm for. Constantly going off.

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we had a blast. The kitchen was fully stocked and the balcony offered great views. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Kill Devil Hills vacation

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Location is great as far as very close proximity to the beach as well as restaurants, etc. First Flight Rentals did an excellent job with communication regarding any questions we had prior to and during our stay. I was however somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness/condition of our unit. There was dust caked on blinds and other areas throughout the apartment and carpet/couches seemed old/worn. Kitchen was nicely renovated, but it seemed the rest of the condo was in need of renovation as well. The cleanliness factor almost made me take the rating down to three stars, but we enjoyed everything else so much that I left it at 4.
