Sky’s the Limit offers a truly authentic mountain retreat with luxurious upgrades and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains—including Grandfather Mountain—from every room. Located on a private street with 40 acres and direct trail access for hiking and riding, this custom cabin blends rustic charm with modern comfort.

Built from 100-year-old reclaimed tobacco barn wood, the home features wormy chestnut cabinetry, granite countertops, top-tier stainless appliances, and a graphite sink in the kitchen. The main floor includes reclaimed wood flooring, a stone wood-burning fireplace, a 65" smart HDTV, powder room, and a private master suite with deck and hot tub access, plus a 42" smart HDTV.

Downstairs, you'll find two spacious bedrooms—one with a queen bed and one with two queen beds—each with attached full baths. A large family room with a 60” plasma TV and a convertible pool/ping pong table makes this space perfect for gatherings. Recently refurbished, the cabin boasts custom log and reclaimed wood furniture, new linens, and all-new kitchen accessories.

This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals).

Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc.

Beautiful Cabin

Immaculate cabin, very clean and nicely decorated. The views and hot tub were my favorite. Very well insulated and never felt any temperature extremes in the home. All the beds were very comfortable as well which was a pleasant surprise. You definitely need a car with all wheel drive and the drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart. Plan your trip so that you are not driving in the dark and be prepared for no cell service on the mountain (but excellent WiFi in the cabin itself).

Majestic views!

Our stay was so perfect! Everyone was so friendly and helpful everywhere we went and we just loved the live music and restaurant! Our next stay will have to be longer so we have time to check out everything! The Eagles Neat was beautiful inside and out. Great care has been take with this property and it shows! The views are breath taking and the sunken hot tub was so relaxing! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable!

One of the best features was having full bathrooms in each room. We traveled with 3 couples., so we all had our own personal space. The chairs on the back deck are incredible, the hot tub is perfect. Overall 9.9 out of 10. The only reason it is not a 10 is the grill. The grill would not heat up. Luckily it wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Put a new grill in and it would be a 10 out of 10. We will 100% stay here again. The property management team is also a 10 out of 10!!

We enjoyed the large deck with comfortable captain chairs, luxurious hot tub, and great views. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was decently outfitted with supplies. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms updated. Only constructive recommendation would be to include extra towels for the hot tub and we did not have any dish soap, but left some for the next guest.Would stay again and would recommend!

It sleeps 8 but lives only 4-6 comfortably (ex. only 4 deck chairs, living room seating for only 6 if all feet are on the floor, nice game room but it is tight). A few details the owners could attend to for it to deserve 5 stars: 1. Re-arrange the living room and add another comfy chair or two; 2. display the horse sculpture on a pedestal in the corner near the stairway to free up the side table; pull the large sofa away from the wall and add a narrow console table behind it with two reading lamps to add more light; move the TV above the fireplace; remove the heavy brown drapes in the living room; replace the king bed mattress pad; replace all non-stick pots and pans; add more bath towels for each bathroom; add additional seating and a large umbrella on the deck; add seating outside below the deck.

Eagle’s Nest at Leatherwoods MTN

Very isolated for social distancing! We had no direct contact with anyone. Kids loved the space and hot tub adults loved the view and the peace when the kids went out for the night!!! Much needed getaway from Pandemic life!!!!

Beautiful Home

Overall the property was amazing. The view was amazing, the home was spacious and everyone had a great experience for the cost. There were a few things that weren't so great. The property says that there are some stink bugs dues to the weather. This was an understatement. They literally live in the home with you. No matter how many you get out, more show up so there seems to be openings in the roof or walls that they are entering into. They fly around and land on personal belongings and made me super uncomfortable for the weekend. However, it didn't bother my family much so that was a relief. Finally, 2 of the toilet's leak and I called and text the maintenance number during business hours and again after hours and no one ever contacted me back. Other than that, all of the amenities were amazing, the views were on point and I loved the balance the home had that made it comfortable for couples to stay in each room with enough space. It can be a scary ride up to the home w/ the winding curves but it was worth it! Take advantage of the grill and the views from the balcony, it was magical for our final night of BBQ family dinner :)

Great get-away!

Very secluded and well-suited for our group. The king bed upstairs was soo comfy and the walk-in shower was great! Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc. and we definitely took advantage of that during our weekend stay with dinner and breakfast. The scenery from the back porch was everything.. so quiet and relaxing.. not to mention the hottub, which was already warm when we arrived! The whole group really enjoyed our weekend getaway and I don't have any complaints!

Awesome!!

Everything was great!! My family was very impressed and we will definitely return. The one thing I would recommend changing is the description on the listing that says there is a claw foot tub in the master bath. There isn't a tub in this cabin anywhere. That probably isn't a big deal to most, but my wife was looking forward to that. Overall great experience.

Excellent experience.

This was a beautiful cabin! Fully stocked with kitchen pots and pans and even spices, sugar, flour and more. Super clean and comfortable! Beautiful view and very peaceful. I highly recommend this place for a getaway!

Beautiful views and a great house!

This was a perfect property for 3 couples to escape for a weekend. Kitchen was great as were all the appliances and utensils. It was wonderful using the fire place at night. The pool table was well maintained and was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. The best part though was the amazing view from the porch and hot tub. Would love to stay here again when in the area.

The cabin we rented, Eagle’s Nest, had all the comforts of home but better! My husband claimed it was the best sleep he’s had and the kids got along so well playing pool, ping pong, cards and hiking. There is seriously something for everyone. I loved having hiking right out our door, horseback riding on the property along with a restaurant and being able to relax in the hot tub looking up at the stars or watching the beautiful sunrise or sunset. This place is like a piece of heaven! We will be back for sure and have already recommended to my friends and coworkers.
