The photo used in the promotion is VERY misleading. This was my second stay at brown bungalow (bb), so I knew not to be disappointed, as the bb is NOT on the lake.

The ad was pretty deceiving and the outside parking / driveway didn’t look like the pictures. there were ants or some kind of tiny bugs crawling on the floor in and around the bathroom. There was only enough hot water for one person to take a short shower and there were 3 of us that needed showers so we were left to take cold showers There were no pillows , just pillows with shams on them , so who knows if the shams had been washed. There were only 3 towels in the bathroom . And there were no electric outlets on the exterior that had power . This was not worth the money we paid for 2 nights.

Bigger than it looks from outside, plenty of space for at least 5 people. Listing shows its lakeside or at least has a dock but it does not sit on the lakeside exactly. It is near the lake.

Overpriced. This house is not in a peaceful lakeside location as the heading suggests. It is located just off a busy main road. There is no lake in sight.The house is basic, one pro is that the beds were comfortable. The owner also requires damage insurance to be taken out before booking. This made it much more expensive than equivalent properties that we have stayed in.

A peaceful lakeside location was never suggested. The listing is described as being near Lake Lanier with easy access to beaches and public boat ramps within 2 minutes drive from the listing. Damage deposits are required to cover damages left by guests, if no damages are left, the deposits are returned to the guests after check out.

Cute cabin, well maintained. It is conveniently located however, not really ON lake but about a mile or 2 away. Not super private with neighbors on 3 sides.

In town for a regatta. Need a place for the team to stay. We basically only slept at the house. It worked fine.

Quiet and ready for guest

A great place to stay. There's nothing negative about this place. And as strange as it may sound the beds were so comfortable they were hard to get out of. Definitely will book another stay when in the area.

There were multiple concerns about this property. The pictures listed do not match the condition of the home, the property is worn and clearly has not had proper maintenance. Upon arrival, the air conditioning was set at 81 degrees. The home smelled musty, there were water marks on the ceiling of the second bedroom, peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, several types of bugs were found in the house, the floor is cracked and soft in places, and the bathroom fan did not work. The property is located near the lake, however there is not access directly from the property.

Old and run down. Numerous Cockroaches and Centipedes came up through the bath tub drain. Property is not by the lake. Had to go to Walmart for bug spray prior to entering because of the extreme amount of spiders and webs on front deck entry area. Old furniture inside painted white. Paint is chipped off and a large burn mark on living room table. Roku is only TV source and the VRBO pictures did not match the house. Renter has two rentals next to each other.

Gainesville house

I like the house beds are very cozy.There is limited seating so hard to relax. Adding another couch or loveseat would certainly help. The kitchen needs a set of silverware and a regular coffee maker. Most people don't use a k cup.

Safety concerns

We decided to leave the property and stay in a hotel. I would hope VRBO would vet properties well. We noticed peeling paint, trash in close neighbors yard and mailbox in disrepair (open) as we pulled up. Only one of three bulbs working in the only bathroom, broken fan in guest room etc. Small things made us question safety and cleanliness of property. At best, advertise this as a men's/dogs cabin.

Fishing Trip

Parking very difficult for full size bass boat, only room for one at best. Property very clean. TV system very difficult, ROKU TV sucks. No live TV option essentially. Property description and check in info needs improving. Took two days to even get TV to work at all. Kitchen needs few more basics added. Great water pressure and hot water. Shower was great. Beds very good. Would stay again assuming could get rid of first two days of hassell.

Dissatisfied

This property was not what we expected due to inaccurate information on VRBO. There is no water view. The unit was not furnished the way it showed, only sofa in living room. Could not fit four, let alone 7 people on it. The bath tub needs to be replaced. And the smoke alarms were missing from both bedrooms.

Decent place

Overall was a pleasant experience. I’m glad we brought our camping kitchen gear, as the kitchen was low on forks. We had to buy extra toilet paper, as we were only supplied a roll and a half (4 restroom users, 3 being female). Extra towels for bathroom and kitchen would have been good to have. Also a dish drying rack would be helpful since dishes have to be hand washed. Some guidance on the TVs would have been helpful, as they are Roku TVs and you have to download the app to use as a remote. The bathroom door is starting to fall off the hinges, so took extra care to be able to close. But, we just needed a place where we could sleep, shower, and make some meals, and this worked.

Air co ditioning wasn't working when we arrived. It was almost 90 degrees at 7pm. Trash was left outside. Smelled bad. Website was down so i couldn't get a hold of anyone. Left after an hour but lost all my monet. No refund. Shady neighborhood. Felt unsafe for my family. Not the way to spend a vacation.
