Older vintage classic Big Bear Cabin. Perfectly located near shops, restaurants, and popular Big Bear activities. Only minutes to the ski resorts, Alpine Zoo, and the Village. Close to National Forest hiking trails. Take a morning stroll through the quiet neighborhood and enjoy the brisk mountain air. This home will truly make you feel like you've gone on a mountain retreat!

LIVING SPACE - Cozy 800+ sq ft home with living room, TV, dining table, a beautiful wood burning fireplace, and comfortable living room seating.

ROOMS & BEDS - 2 bedroom, 1 bath. Upstairs first bedroom has a queen bed and TV. Upstairs second bedroom/loft has three full beds and TV. Extra blankets and pillows are available.

KITCHEN - Recently remodeled full kitchen, stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker, dishes, pots/pans, and more.

AMENITIES - This home offers cable TV, along with fast WiFi, board games, and card games. Relax near the cozy wood burning fireplace.

OUTDOORS - New Private hot tub. Enjoy the spacious deck with plenty of seating, a charcoal barbecue, and fully fenced yard.

Lake Cottage

Lake Cottage is an older property. It was clean, plenty of towels, water was hot. It was very disappointing that the only bathroom was downstairs. A window in the master bedroom would open but wouldn't remain open. The GCFI outlet in the bathroom did not work and one of the outlets in the master bedroom was loose.

As soon as we got there almost every smoke detector was beeping because of dead battery. I couldn't take the battery out because they are sealed units. The yard was over grown with weeds. Definitely didn't look like the pictures. I would not recommend this house. The owners don't do any up keep.

Lake Cottage Review

The folks at Cool Cabins were wonderful. The cabin was well supplied and the beds and furniture are comfortable,but this particular cabin needs to be retired from your portfolio. It's old and tired. One of the windows in the bedroom over the fireplace wouldn't stay up, the outlets in the bathroom aren't working, one of the burners on the stove wouldn't light and two of the burner control knobs are falling off. The latch and lock on the front door need to be replaced.

Was hoping for better

Understanding that this cabin was older, I didn’t have unreasonable expectations. I was very disappointed upon check in when we had no toilet paper and the holder was broken off and hanging on the back door. The advertised hot tub was non functional, cold and absolutely filthy. The outdoor furniture and yard were old and unkept. The WiFi name and password were incorrect and my children were unable to log into their school website to attend school the following morning after we arrived. The neighborhood was scary- witnessed a police officer attempting to gain access into a house directly across the street from us which was filled with trash all over the front lawn. After they left, a man was seen acting as he was intoxicated pacing around the property responding to internal stimuli. At that point I feared for the safety of my children being anywhere but inside of the rental. I am extremely disappointed with what I was presented to me and what I paid for- I expected so much better and would never recommend this property to anyone.

Hello Laurie, I'm sorry that you had a disappointing experience at this property. I do understand your frustrations with the Wi-Fi and the toilet paper upon your arrival and we sincerely apologize for that. We've worked with housekeeping and maintenance to try and improve these issues. As for the hot tub I'm not sure what happened but it hasn't been advertised on the property since October of 2019 because its not functional. We do hope that you will give Cool Cabins another try, if not this specific property, and we look forward to having you back. Thank You, Big bear Cool Cabins.

Great place

I stayed here with my three kids. There was plenty of room. Heat worked well. There were some board games but most were missing pieces. Overall a nice place
