Total disappointment
I hesitated to write this, my first negative review, decided it would be remiss of me to not inform other renters of this property/Best of Canaan. We've rented multiple properties, both nationally/internationally, never w/ the extent of these issues. Pros-house size/fireplaces/location/hot tubCons-•Wall heater w/ soot on wall-fire hazard•Excessively stained carpets, BR light nonfunctioning, mult. areas on walls w/primer•1 couch broken, 1 stained, MBR ottoman stained/torn•Flies/Asian beetle bugs dropped onto us at dinner table•Soap from previous occupant in shower with shampoo/ black hair on wall /floor. We’re blonde and bald.•Continuously dripping MBR shower: slow draining left MBR sink•Toiletry bag from previous occupant still hanging in BR•Multiple walls w/suspected dried nasal secretions, blood, dried feces in BR, unk substance wall above bed•Microwave handle glued together, rear rt burner brokenFirst morning, spoke w/ Donna at Best of Canaan. My concerns met with disdain/annoyance. Told it was peak season; carpets not to be cleaned until April. We expect some staining, this excessive. We requested house be recleaned/light fixed/heater checked. Bugs were vacuumed, more came. Most walls cleaned. 1 hair/soap removed from shower. Light not fixed. That's it.No f/u call/text/email from anyone. Tired property needs deep cleaning/functioning furniture/appliances. Due to our poor experience, we can neither recommend this property, nor the rental agency Best of Canaan
