Castleton Farms is a sprawling, 500-acre compound at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park with a working animal farm, fishing ponds, and gorgeous views. A five-mile paved footpath spans the property and is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking. Visit the friendly menagerie with emus, goats, chickens, pig, donkeys, a zebra, and a zonkey. The magnificent Pool House complex boasts a custom, geothermally-heated indoor pool, and hot tub, (Additional fee — paid at check-in).

Castleton Farms is a one-of-a-kind estate with luxury amenities and rustic Virginia charm. In addition to the original 1850s Manor House, the property comprises thirteen beautiful guest houses, intimate cottages and large family homes, all discreetly nestled across 500 acres of rolling farmland. I am from the area and i never knew this beautiful gem was there in castleton. The house was very clean, beds and bedding were very comfortable. Shower was hot and good water pressure. Connie was very communicative and friendly.

Relaxing getaway

Property was exactly as advertised. Easy checkin/ out. We booked this house for a quiet, relaxing, long weekend to explore the Shenandoah National Park which was an easy 20 minute drive away. Property has a variety of amenities that we did not explore but liked that they were available. Enjoyed the private hot tub and even had a surprise black snake visitor. Would definitely book at Castleton properties again.

Gorgeous Property, super relaxing

Gorgeous, secluded, farm property. We stayed in the carriage house and it was more than enough space for the four of us. Clean and cozy. I appreciated not having to bring my own linens! We didn’t get to explore all the property has to offer due to daily excursions (everything is 1/2 away in any direction), but we did get to visit the farm animals and have a day in the amazing pool house. Connie is a great host who communicated with me through the trip as I needed and gave great recommendations of wineries and things to do in the area. I hope to visit again with family and rent one of the larger homes - and stay longer- No one wanted to leave!

Terrific stay

We had a terrific time at this property, which is one of a number of houses/cottages on the 500-acre estate of late symphony conductor Loren Maazel. The carriage unit we stayed in was a 2d floor walk-up, with the kitchen, living room, master bed (king) and a full bath on that floor. Up another flight of stairs is another bathroom, a full bed and a queen bed. Outside are woods, a stream, and a pond. Rolling meadows all around. Elsewhere on the property is another pond (with some kayaks for use), tennis courts, basketball hoops, fields, some farm animals, and an asphalt walking path several miles long.
