The booking provider is responsible for actioning the refund. A refund of the service/booking fee is at the discretion of the booking provider, although to date they have refunded service fees for cancellations due to Covid-19.

Loved my stay

I booked this to get ready with my bridal party for my wedding. The house and setting was just stunning with enough room to move around and be comfortable..The night views were amazing. I am definitely coming back here to stay. Amazing hosts too!

Hidden Gem

We've had an awesome weekend. The cottage is one of the most beautiful we've ever stayed at. Lucky enough to encounter a baby bottlenosed dolphin on our excursion on the Ranui boat cruise. Highly recommend staying here!

Lovely Stay

Hubby and I had a wonderful stay and time at this gorgeous cottage right on water. Met some of the lovely locals and spent time with them, even lovely evening at local Firestation music jam. Caught few snapper off deck and lost one my lines to a whoppa. Comfy stay, with good amenities. Will be back again for sure.

Reprieve and replenish

Waterline is such a wonderful spot; Hokianga Harbour was the star of this adventure and the vista encompassed us from every direction. Perfect in every regard.

Peaceful setting.

Lovely place to stay, our second holiday at this quaint cottage in Kohukohu. Peaceful and scenic and steeped in history in the area of the Hokianga. We will return.

Reunion gathering

As this was a school reunion of the 1970s, the gathering was fantastic as one member came from Dallas, Texas. The host was also part of this gathering. We loved the location.

Anniversary celebration

We loved sharing time together at Waterline. Very warm and cosy, good mood lighting and nice seating areas in and out. Views of the harbour are fabulous. Decor, colour schemes and special touches were all noticed and much appreciated. Thank you!

Rustic Paradise on the water

We absolutely loved our stay which was extended due to the Cyclone that came through while we were there. We enjoyed our wonderful waterline accommodation despite the weather. The photography opportunities were great...with beautiful sunsets and the local people warm and helpful. Our host was magnificent and kept in touch with us throughout. I can't wait to come back.

Awesome experience. Tranquil setting. Mesmerising views. Cute rustic decor. Well stocked. Brilliant kitchen. Comfy bed, able to watch dawn breaking over the water while lying in bed.

Relaxing stay in fantastic surroundings

We really enjoyed our stay at the Waterline Cottage. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need and more close at hand. Everything was very clean, comfortable and tidy. My husband enjoyed fishing off the deck while I enjoyed the surroundings and a good book. Despite the weather we still managed to take a day trip to Opononi via the car ferry, which was an easy trip and highly recommended. Thank you Carol, and we hope to stay again in the future.

Hokianga Highlight

It was our second stay at Waterline and we just love it. The tide coming and going under your feet. Sunrise over the harbour from bed. Quiet, comfortable, well equipped but also with genuine old school kiwi bach charm in an unbeatable location. Can't recommend it enough. Carol, the owner is wonderful. We plan to stay again soon, hopefully for longer. Kohukohu has so much atmosphere.

Extraordinary place but unfortunately stay marred by things not working

This is an absolutely stunning place. An idyllic location on the water. Stunning views from all windows. Outdoor bath. Lovely blend of retro, comfort and modern. Unfortunately though the WiFi wasn't working and I contacted Carol straight away but she wasn't able to come until 24 hours later to access a locked area to turn it on. As I have to work when I travel it meant I missed some work deadlines which wasn't ideal. Carol suggested I could connect to a community WiFi but it meant standing outside in the rain! Also there was a problem with the water pump so every 20 minutes day and night there was this loud noise as it kicked in. It was impossible to sleep and on the second night I gave up and left the property at 6am. Such a shame ...left tired and frustrated rather than refreshed and rejuvenated but I was probably just unlucky.

Dream house on piles over tidal water

So wonderful & wakey we want to return. Carol has used so much immagination. Open plan with continuos windows on all sides. Wide deck on two sides. Views of the harbour, hills and mountains from everywhere, even from the raised double bed, which has curtains for night. Lapping water under the floors at high tide or gurgle of mangrove at low. You're on a boat without sea sickness possibilities! Old, chipped, utility furniture gives the "rustic" effect, but lovely looking new comfortable settee and double bed. Lots of hangers and cheery fairy lights outside on a timer. The rosemary and thyme growing in pots on the deck were very handy for Christmas dinner. Nice idea leaving milk in the fridge and an apron to use, although it's a shame it wasn't clean. Maybe an oversight. The kitchen is well equiped and open plan to the main room which has twin beds, large dining table and chairs, sitting room area as well as a double bed. We loved watching the children jumping off the jetty at high tide and we caught 2 eels but had to let them go! The above possitives, greatly outweigh the negatives, which are: 1, we were not told that the electric oven didn't work, which was surprising since we were going for Christmas, a time of year when one expects many people to want to do a roast. We had to use the mini oven which added about an hour or so to roasting our chicken and vegetables, but worked! 2, The long table & attached benches on the deck has character and we understand why you want to keep it but the planks for sitting on need replacing because they are broken and full of splinters. Also there are too many nails and screws sticking out thus making it a bit dangerous. Even wearing jeans no one wants splinters and ripped clothes or skin!! 3, Unironed pillowcases is never very welcoming in rented accommodation. We still want to stay in this bit of heaven again, despite those three little negatives. Carol, you have done a really great job of this place.

Kohukohu Calm

This was the perfect place for our small family to retreat and breathe. It's a magic setting with rustic old charm, everything we hoped for including early morning swims. What a special little village and very touching Armistice Memorial Service. We'd love to return one day.

Unique accommodation

Absolutely loved the quirkiness of this place. Right on the river, can literally swim from your deck. Loved the bed and the views from it, felt like a princess. The best pillows ive had on our trip. Can highly recommend.

Location, Location, Location

This is a beautifully restored piece of history, the old Butchers shop perched over the tide/cafe. Well appointed and comfortable. Even swimming off the deck at high tide. We loved exploring Kohukohu and a harbour cruise on Ranui was a great experience with great local characters. The owner is looking at fixing the pump issue.
