- About a 1-hour drive to Bay of Islands, Kerikeri, Kaitaia, Opononi/Omapere beaches, sand dune surfing, Kauri trees of Waipoua Forest and Ninety Mile Beach
- 2 hours from Whangarei, 4 hours from Auckland
- Sealed road access, nearby boat ramp and wharf.

NOTE
- Check-in 3pm, check-out 11am
- Linen and towels included
- Cleaning fee $50 per stay
- Standard rate for 2 guests. Extra $20 per person per night for a 3rd & 4th guest
- 2 night minimum required. 3 night minimum: Easter weekend (April), Labour weekend (Oct) and 18 Dec 2020-31 Jan 2021.
- Social gatherings, parties and events not permitted without prior arrangement.

COVID-19 affected cancellations:
If your booked stay cannot occur as a direct result of Government Covid-19 travel restrictions, you may request a cancellation and full refund. Payments and refunds are managed by the website booking providers. As a host, we will agree with requests from the booking provider to issue you with a full refund, if requested. The booking provider is responsible for actioning the refund. A refund of the service/booking fee is at the discretion of the booking provider, although to date they have refunded service fees for cancellations due to Covid-19.

Loved my stay

I booked this to get ready with my bridal party for my wedding. The house and setting was just stunning with enough room to move around and be comfortable..The night views were amazing. I am definitely coming back here to stay. Amazing hosts too!

Hidden Gem

We've had an awesome weekend. The cottage is one of the most beautiful we've ever stayed at. Lucky enough to encounter a baby bottlenosed dolphin on our excursion on the Ranui boat cruise. Highly recommend staying here!

Unique accommodation

Absolutely loved the quirkiness of this place. Right on the river, can literally swim from your deck. Loved the bed and the views from it, felt like a princess. The best pillows ive had on our trip. Can highly recommend.

Lovely Stay

Hubby and I had a wonderful stay and time at this gorgeous cottage right on water. Met some of the lovely locals and spent time with them, even lovely evening at local Firestation music jam. Caught few snapper off deck and lost one my lines to a whoppa. Comfy stay, with good amenities. Will be back again for sure.

Reunion gathering

As this was a school reunion of the 1970s, the gathering was fantastic as one member came from Dallas, Texas. The host was also part of this gathering. We loved the location.

Kohukohu Calm

This was the perfect place for our small family to retreat and breathe. It's a magic setting with rustic old charm, everything we hoped for including early morning swims. What a special little village and very touching Armistice Memorial Service. We'd love to return one day.

Rustic Paradise on the water

We absolutely loved our stay which was extended due to the Cyclone that came through while we were there. We enjoyed our wonderful waterline accommodation despite the weather. The photography opportunities were great...with beautiful sunsets and the local people warm and helpful. Our host was magnificent and kept in touch with us throughout. I can't wait to come back.

Anniversary celebration

We loved sharing time together at Waterline. Very warm and cosy, good mood lighting and nice seating areas in and out. Views of the harbour are fabulous. Decor, colour schemes and special touches were all noticed and much appreciated. Thank you!

Relaxing stay in fantastic surroundings

We really enjoyed our stay at the Waterline Cottage. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need and more close at hand. Everything was very clean, comfortable and tidy. My husband enjoyed fishing off the deck while I enjoyed the surroundings and a good book. Despite the weather we still managed to take a day trip to Opononi via the car ferry, which was an easy trip and highly recommended. Thank you Carol, and we hope to stay again in the future.

Little piece of heaven

This property is everything you need for a break - well-appointed kitchen, lots of extras in every room, stunning views from every aspect and yet complete privacy. Fresh flowers were the cream on top! Living over the water - it doesn’t get much better than this!

Location, Location, Location

This is a beautifully restored piece of history, the old Butchers shop perched over the tide/cafe. Well appointed and comfortable. Even swimming off the deck at high tide. We loved exploring Kohukohu and a harbour cruise on Ranui was a great experience with great local characters. The owner is looking at fixing the pump issue.
