The house has 6 bedrooms comprising 5 doubles, two with bunks, 1 with additional pull out, 1 bunk room with 3 singles, 5 showers, 4 toilets, large separate lounge/dining, huge, fully equipped kitchen with dining, fully enclosed courtyard with BBQ, hangout, outside dining plus offers child & pet safety, off-street parking for a boat and four cars as well as roadside parking. We had a party of 16 people, ages ranging from 7 to 85, the house was excellent for us all, beds were comfortable and was a plus to have so many toilets and showers. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots etc. Great spot being so close to town and beaches. No problem with booking and Melanie was extremely helpful and accomodating. Awesome place I would definitely go there again.

Our stay at this property was so lovely and accomodating. A really nice family bach atmosphere with lots of space and areas for our group. Amazing location, we were able to walk instead of drive for most of our stay. Lots of shops and businesses close by.

Whitianga Property review

Great location. Overall we had a fabulous 4 days. The property is looking old. It was hot throughout the stay but there was no air conditioning (Fans, throughout; Some worked, some partially and some noisey). Some showers OK but a couple not so good. Price a little high but it was Whitiangi week.

Whitianga family get together.

House adquate, nice and clean. Close to beaches shops etc. Enjoyed our stay ... house had plenty of showers and toilets, linen provided ... we cooked and kitchen well stocked wuth pot, pans and dinner ware etc. Found lock box with key was hard to open. Thanks to Melanie, good host.

Great location, great for large groups

We had a family gathering for our mother's 80th birthday and the property was awesome in terms of location and catering to a large group. The host was lovely, great communication and the property was very clean and very well stocked in terms of items needed to prepare, serve food and seat a large group. There was also plenty of extra blankets. The property also had different spaces people could hang out, a coffee was a very short walk away.together

Perfect for a large group

We stayed in winter and the house is very warm with bar heaters in the lounge and in the kitchen. Am extremely well stocked kitchen perfect for cooking/bbq. Coffee plungers are there just bring your own plunger grind coffee. Electric frying pan was perfect for dinner and pancake breakfast. Plenty of beds and breakout spaces for all. Lots of separate showers and toilets. Towels/linen/extra blankets all provided and all lovely. Very homely! We were all so cozy and warm. Thank you Melanie for having us in your wonderful home. We hope to be back. This is definitely the best pick for our group!

Family get together

Bedroom storage for clothing limited to non existing . Basic bathroom items such as, shower soap and toiletry holder, hooks in some bathroom areas for towel etc missing, everything had to go on the floor . Other than that we had an enjoyable stay, kitchen well stocked and dining, lounge areas comfortable,very handy to beach, and shops,ideal for large group.

The house was as listed but we felt the interior needed an upgrade Most of the furniture and bedding was obviously used during its back packer era And the ensuite attached to the bedroom at the back of the house needed a lot attention The kitchen was great for a crowd We had an enjoyable time

My group really loved there stay. Loved the layout of the house, plenty of room. All the emenities where awesome as well. Walking distance to shops. Had a blast will definetly recommend this home stay.

Lots of rooms but not enough towels

We chose the property because of the number of bedrooms available as well as having space for being together. The location was good, being within easy walking distance of shops and cafes. We thought that it could have been cleaner (there were ants on the dining table until we washed the table cloth) and the wiring to the sleepout looked a bit dodgy and the low water pressure there meant a disappointing shower. We were disappointed that despite booking for 7 people only 6 towels were supplied and there was no response from the owner to a message requesting another. The beds were mostly comfortable however one of the single beds was exceptionally squeaky and the bottom bunk in the same room was also squeaky. Possibly ok for kids but not for an adult. Lack of hooks for hanging clothes in some rooms was annoying. On the other hand the large supply of glasses, cups, crockery and cutlery meant not having to wash up constantly and having a dishwasher and washing machine was great. There were fans in every room and a couple of heaters in the kitchen and living room for cold weather.

Extended family weekend away

Great place in central Whitianga to walk to shops, beach, ferry and hot pool attraction. A Bach that is of quirky rooms. Great amount of things for meal prep and family fun.

Must go to specially for large groups & families

Wow dont let the pictures full you. Just go you'll be surprised when u get there. Didnt expect how homey this place felt, every thing was fully equipped, huge place, my family didnt want to leave. Awesome for a big group just a few minute work to town. I will book this again except I'll leave the big speaker at home. All I can say is you'll enjoy this property. We know we did.

Great location

I knew the property was in town, but I didn't realize how good the location would be! Wandering distance from everything, coffee, supermarket, lost springs, ferry. It was an ideal property for a group of friends hanging out for the weekend. And they went above and beyond to return a forgotten item to us, much appreciated. I would book again without hesitation.

Family weekend

It’s honestly a very good house for large groups. The photos do not justify how nice and big the house actually is. Definitely felt homie and I would definitely book again if we ever come back to whitianga again.-

Brilliant location

This bach was perfect for our large group of friends. We felt instantly comfortable there because it was not super flash but homely. It had a quirky layout but that worked brilliantly for our group. Location, location, location 10/10. We could walk everywhere, town, beach, cafes, restaurants, shops, lost springs, coffee... brilliant loved it.
