Dolphin Shores is a private beachfront oasis at the highly desirable eastern end of Dolphin Sands, well away from the area of the 2025 bushfires. Nestled behind the dunes, this house is sheltered and private, while just a short 1-minute stroll takes you directly onto the pristine expanse of Nine Mile Beach. The house is not visible from the road, by neighbours or by beach-goers, providing the perfect seclusion for a relaxing family break or romantic getaway.

CLEANING PROTOCOLS
Dolphin Shores cleaning is extremely thorough, taking 2 days between guests, so that you can feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. We also aim to provide a comfortable stay for allergy-sensitive guests by not allowing pets or smokers, swapping outdoor shoes for complimentary slippers at the door, providing hypoallergenic pillows, undertaking regular deep cleaning, and having the wildlife help maintain our lawns. Our bathroom supplies have been selected for being cruelty-free, ethically sourced, and free from harmful chemicals.

THE HOUSE
At one end of the house is the spacious main bedroom featuring windows on 3 sides, luxurious 100% cotton over-size bedding, multi-zone electric blanket, TV with new-release in-house movies, large built-in wardrobes, electronic safe, ceiling fan, heater/ cooler, wireless charger, and a selection of pillows and blankets. It is separated from the other bedrooms, providing a quiet retreat as well as direct access onto one of two sun decks. Adjacent is the main bathroom, which offers floor heating, separate shower and bath with plenty of amenities.

For additional guests, at the other end of the house is Bedroom 2, also with a posturepedic queen bed and direct BBQ deck access; Bedroom 3, featuring a bunk bed (please consider if this is appropriate for the age of the guests); plus a shower room with second toilet. The rest of the house consists of a fully equipped laundry plus open-plan living that incorporates kitchen, living, dining and TV areas, and features both a wood heater and ducted heat pump/ air-conditioner.

OUTDOORS
Outside, deck space on both sides of the house allows you to follow the sun and relax, whilst our mature trees surrounding the lawns provide shade from the hot summer sun as well as shelter from the strong winds. Outdoor dining furniture is provided along with use of a new gas BBQ.

Children have plenty of room to run around on the open grassed areas, with a swing & slide play set, basketball and netball posts, as well as various sports balls available for use. If they want to escape the sun or rain, a large shed located between the house and beach track serves as a games room and offers hours of fun with table tennis, air hockey, foosball and more. For inside fun there are also books, games, DVDs and over 100 recent / new-release in-house movies to keep them occupied.

Borrow one of our adult mountain bikes to ride along the beach, to Bagot Point, or even into Swansea along the flat roads. Beach kayaks are another fun activity, with choice of both Great Oyster Bay and Moulting Lagoon so close. We have plenty of open parking for boat trailers and are only a minute away from the popular Bagot Point launching area.

Security cameras are located outdoors and are deactivated once a guest has checked-in.

THE AREA
Dolphin Shores is central to so many of East Coast Tasmania's attractions, yet you don't need to go anywhere to fill your holiday. Set on 5 acres of Land For Wildlife conservation, we offer a holiday destination, not just a place to sleep. Lots of places offer beach frontage, but only Dolphin Shores also offers you total privacy, a dedicated separate games room, lawns for outdoor fun and relaxation, sports activities, established trees for shelter from sun and wind, and all still so close to those waterfalls, vineyards and national parks.

A car is essential as Dolphin Sands is not serviced by taxis or Uber, and guests with limited mobility should be aware that Dolphin Sands does not have footpaths, and beach access is over soft, undulating sand dunes.

Approximately 20 minutes’ drive takes you to the seaside town of Swansea, where restaurants, cafes, general store, pharmacy, craft shops, museums and more can be found. Many attractions that East Coast Tasmania has to offer are nearby, including wineries, waterfalls, scenic lookouts, Freycinet and Douglas-Apsley National Parks and more all within an easy hour’s drive. We will provide you with an extensive collection of tourist brochures and plenty of information on nearby activities and places of interest when you check-in.

Alternatively, stay put and enjoy a swim at Nine Mile Beach in the cool, clean waters of Great Oyster Bay, build sandcastles on the beach, try your hand fishing at Bagot Point Reserve, spot birdlife around Great Swanport over to Pelican Bay and Swanwick, take a relaxing stroll along the beach at sunset and marvel at the spectacular, ever-changing colours of The Hazards, then head back to put your feet up and welcome the local wildlife right here at dusk. It may be quiet, but every day is new.
