Granero Unique Home Al lado de Giants Ridge Recreation Area

La Puerta Verde Granero Home es un uno de los dos alquileres de vacaciones excepcionales en una privada de 13 acres granja (ver El Green Gate granja, nuestra otra oferta de alquiler). Estamos convenientemente ubicado junto a la Dorsal Área de Recreación Gigantes. Nuestros huéspedes disfrutan de acceso directo a la ruta en bici Mesabi, esquiar y jugar al golf en el Giants Ridge, y descansando en las playas de Embarrass lago a pocos pasos de nuestra puerta. Somos un destino todo el año, que atienden a nórdicos y alpinos esquiadores, ciclistas, remeros, los golfistas y los que simplemente elegir para relajarse en nuestro histórico refugio de granja.

Puerta Verde es un hogar verdaderamente único granero, la combinación de todas las comodidades modernas con el encanto rústico del granero original de 1935 del heno que inspiró el proyecto. El 2 dormitorios, 2 baños casa de huéspedes tiene capacidad para 6 personas. Una cocina bien encargado por, comedor y cómoda sala de estar con TV por cable y WiFi hacen Puerta Verde su hogar lejos de casa. Los huéspedes también pueden disfrutar de las hogueras, explorar los alrededores, o relajarse en una playa del lago a pocos minutos de distancia.

The Barn was a spectacular stay as our biking group biked the entire Mesabi Trail. To get on the trail right from the VRBO was a dream. Best designed and cared for VRBO property all of us have ever stayed at. Magical!

Magical. Loved that snowshoes were available and we could snowshoe through the property woods and onto the Mesabi Trail. We filled the roundtable room with food, laughter and game night! A heavenly retreat into the great North Woods!

This was the cleanest, coolest, and most convenient VRBOs i've ever stayed in. It was 2 minutes from one of the greatest courses in MN and 5 minutes from another epic course. The yard is HUGE and comes with yard games. The firepit and BBQ are great... I couldn't recommend this place more. Thank you, Green Gate!

Worth every penny

This place is just as advertised and it is darling. Everything was neat, tidy and well-appointed. The main bedroom has a queen Sleep Number bed that my husband and I appreciated greatly. I think the other bed was a Temperpedic or similar.

The Green Gate barn home is perfectly charming!

Our long NYE weekend at Green Gate was just what my family needed. The barn home is so charming! Shawn has done a fantastic job, paying attention to even the smallest details. The house is well-appointed with in-floor heating, induction cooktop, high-efficiency dishwasher, and clawfoot tub to name a few. We were never cold despite overnight temps dipping as low as -27 degrees during our stay. The grounds are gorgeous, as well. An Instagrammer's dream come true. :) We really enjoyed exploring, playing in the snow, toasting marshmallows by the campfire, and even a little winter grilling. Shawn made the entire stay very easy and comfortable. We felt right at home. I am counting down the days until our next visit!

Adorable barn home, so tranquil

My husband and I Came up to go snowmobiling. When I found the barn my husband was skeptic but we both loved it! The barn was so nicely done and had everything available for a lovely stay. I would absolutely stay there again. We had a great weekend and the barn and location were the most instrumental in that!

Wonderful property in the Iron Range

The Barn is an amazing place to stay. The interior is incredibly charming with fabulous attention to detail both in the craftsmanship and in the accommodations. The exposed wood in the interior is primarily reclaimed wood from the original barn which stood on the location, and it makes for a warm and homey atmosphere. And the space is used very efficiently so that the interior feels bigger than it looks from the outside. The kitchen was equipped very well and was stocked with many of the basics needed for cooking, including a great spice assortment and staples such as sugar, flour, olive oil and vinegar. Shawn was very responsive when we contacted him, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We hope to be back someday!

Family getaway

Our stay at the Green House Guest Cottages was just perfect! Everything we needed was there for us to have a relaxing and enjoyable vacation for our family before sending our three kids off to college. We walked the trails and paths surrounding the property every day, cooled off at the lake, built fires in the evening and outdoor yoga in the morning. The home itself was cozy and well-stocked (loved the spices!!!). Not sure if were were just lucky, but the weather was pleasant, even when it rained - there were very few bugs and the area was so clean. We especially loved the hammocks on the property. Thanks Shawn, we really enjoyed our stay!

Owner has thought of everything

We spent 5 nights at the Barn Home next to Giants Ridge and loved it. Not only is it close to wonderful golf, but also more than 135 miles of the most beautiful and well maintained biking/walking trails along the Mesabi trail line. No need to take your car as there is a trail that connects right to the property. Furthermore, everything we needed was right there. Firewood, kindling, chairs, yard games, games for inside, even kitchen spices in case you forgot something. Not only is the owner's craftsmanship impressive, but also his ability to ensure his guests enjoy their vacation. Shawn really did a wonderful job!!!

Stayed in dozens of VRBO places, and this is definitely one of a kind. The barn is spectacular. The craftsmanship is great. Small details will have you wondering how this was imagined into reality. The place is close to town but secluded. Lots of yard for the kids to play. Hammocks were a big hit for the kids. The fire pit area is nice and well stocked.

Wonderful house with beautiful unique features

This is a cozy unique house! All rooms were clean and the no smoking, stocking feet request was right in line with our personal home rules. Plenty of kitchen culinary supplies and coffee! which you will need since there is nothing nearby. Unfortunately the weather kept us from hiking as we would have liked -our reason for staying so rural- and our stay wasn’t long enough to stock up and cook. The closest best restaurant we found was in Ely (Insula) almost an hour away.. unless you drive back after dark in a continuous downpour on freshly paved roads without striping and it becomes and hour plus. We loved the nice towels. All three beds were comfy, although the smaller one squeaked at the slightest movement. The shower was a little bit of a challenge until you figure out how to make it work, and kept the curtain contained. Overall a great place to stay.

The barn was so cozy we spent most of our time there. The barn is well appointed with modern appliances and a well stocked kitchen. The master bedroom has a sleep number bed which was a treat for us. We had fires every night at the fire pit with the complimentary wood and cooked out on the grill. There is a nice grocery store in Biwabik, which is only a few minutes drive from the barn which is well stocked and acceptably priced. There are other homes on the property but all are spaced to ensure privacy. Overall a wonderful three day weekend.

Wonderful!

Everything about the Barn Home was perfect ..very clean, all the basic amenities (plus many extras :) It is so unique, and we really loved all the history in the home. We only wish we could've had more time the explore the beautiful property and surrounding areas. Shawn was wonderful to work with and very accessible. If we ever happen to be in Minnesota again we know where to go! Thanks for everything :)

This was a repeat visit for us. We've stayed there several times. Every year we are newly impressed by Shawn's attention to detail. He is a charming host. I am a degreed professional with a variety of passions and interests. In addition to an engineering career, I have worked in the natural foods industry (various roles over several years at a food co-op), nutritional counseling, and residential construction and interior design. For the past several years, I have been dedicated to the design/build of Green Gate Guest Houses- 10 unique lodging options within the Giants Ridge Recreation Area.

I have a passion for all areas of construction, design, technology, sustainable living, renewable energy, etc., and enjoy putting ideas into action through the myriad of projects I always have going!

I enjoy nature, outdoors, exercise (running, hiking, cycling, skiing, etc), as well as the culture and arts of the city. I've traveled domestically and internationally, and value the insight gained from experiencing new cultures. I often bring back design ideas that are eventually incorporated into various projects around the property. Looking forward to some time in Scandinavia next.

Having operated my vacation rental properties for about a decade now, I have been fortunate to host such a variety of wonderful guests from all over the planet, and have enjoyed being part of the community in my hosting and travels.

I built these vacation homes on our historic 13 acre homestead to provide a one-of-a-kind lodging option for the many travelers to this area. The secluded, woodsey feel, yet close proximity to town and Giants Ridge Resort are what I enjoy about the property.
