We enjoyed our stay! The house was the perfect size for us. Only recommendation is to add a floor length mirror somewhere in the house. :)

Great little house

This great little house had everything we needed for our trip. The double vanity in the bathroom was perfect for 2 women needed to get ready every day. Plenty of space for the both of us to do make up and hair each morning. The neighborhood was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The check in and out process was very easy as well as all the instructions clearly posed in the home. Thanks so much for a great time. We will be back!

Quaint Getaway

Held Haus was exactly what we were looking for. Close to Main Street and wineries. We were able to do everything that we wanted asnd come back to this cozy location. Having the hot tub was definitely a bonus. When we come back to Fredericksburg, we will definitely try to stay at this location.

We loved our stay. The only thing was the toilet paper. It was very rough so we bought our own. We will definitely stay there again!!

I was bringing my ill friend for a girls weekend and upon arrival to the house , we immediately noticed that the house was in desperate need of paint. When we entered the home it was a very chilly 58 degrees indoors. We turned on the heat and the unit would not stay on. I turned on TV only to discover you must have your own streaming account to watch.., not noted in description. The back door leading to the patio and grilling area was padlocked so you had to go out the front door and walk around the side of the house , go through a gate, grilling supplies in hand in order to cook. I believe this is a fire hazard. I called in with these complaints at 4:30 p.m. the hvac technician arrived around 6 pm to discover that the gas had been turned off and a lock placed on the meter. I called back in and was told we would have to relocate. So now, we are freezing and having to pack up , load the car and move to another house. By the way, this house was not very clean. The inside of all the windows had not been cleaned in a very long time . We were told to check in at a house on Acorn Street. Upon arrival things looked pretty sufficient. However, we later discovered smeared substance on the mirror in one of the bedrooms, black mold on hvac vents, filthy scratched and peeling Teflon pans to cook with. When I texted about the pans etc, I was told that I should have notified her sooner and she would have tried to replace them. I was given a small discount. Weekend ruined.

Love Fredericksburg

Just as advertised, clean and comfortable. Perfect for visiting family and friends. Convenient to Austin and San Antonio. I would suggest to leave a broom and instructions for the television.

Adorable Little Home

Overall great experience, cute little house with all the outdoor essentials. Bedding was comfortable, deco was nice. We bought and left our nice wine glasses for the next visitors, because there were none. Only frown was having to walk out front door to get to jazzuci.

Great ladies weekend getaway

My BFF and I stayed here to celebrate her milestone bday. The Held Haus is cute and quaint in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had ample space for out toiletries and skin care (i had lots!). I communicated via email with my questions to Absolute Charm - just about everyday -and they were very prompt in answering me back. I would stay here again.

Charming Cottage

While the home is very charming, we were somewhat disappointed with some of the accommodations that we have had in previous VRBO's. Specifically, the kitchen. There need to be more cooking utensils (spatula to flip eggs, strainer for pasta, larger pot to cook pasta in) as well as tin foil/storage bags (we purchased and left for the next person). Maybe it was a fluke that those items were previously provided, but it would make the stay much nicer.

Wine Country Stay

The location of the house was great, felt home. Had a cool book to explain some of things to do I. The area. A few things to make our stay a wow would be a full length mirror, new shower head, teplace burnt out light bulbs, coffee maker did not work. Lastly access to the hot tub through the back door which it was a nice hot tub. And to be able to use the drier for my swimsuit. Had I know I would have brought more suits.

Cute house in quiet neighborhood

We enjoyed our time at Held house. It’s in a nice, quiet neighborhood. One minor inconvenience is that the most direct route from the house to the back yard is locked so to get to the hot tub or take your coffee outside in the morning you have to walk around the house Not a deal breaker but it would be more convenient to be able to walk through the house

Nice House and Nice Neighborhood

Well-maintained and well-furnished property. Enjoyed my stay. Two things though: A property in the wine country with no corkscrew? Not good Also, the house is haunted. I was woken at night by the sound of bathroom cabinets opening and closing, and in the morning all of the bathroom cabinets were open and the drawers pulled out.

Hot tub doesn’t work

Booked house because it had a hot tub. Hot tub doesn’t work. Told them, somebody came out and “fixed” it. Still didn’t work. Messaged them again and nobody came. Hot tub never worked the whole trip and they don’t seem to care.

Perfect get-a-way place!

If you are looking for a property that feels like home - this is it. Check in process was incredibly smooth - communication was top notch. This property has everything - every detail has been tended to from kitchen supplies (even had ice in the freezer!), towels, extra throw blankets. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever had at a rental property. And the best part, this is the ONLY property we have ever stayed at that takes their cleaning fee seriously. There were NO CHECK OUT CHORES! Your cleaning fee covers the cleaning. We left the property tidy but not having to strip beds made this feel like a true vacation. Thank you!

Not very good

Could not figure out the hot tub. Maybe should post instructions. Had to walk around the house to get to the hot tub, very inconvenient! Shower was extremely slippery. Very dangerous for anyone to use. Would rather stay under a bridge next time.

Adequate

This was your typical clean and reasonably priced home close Main Street. Pluses were comfortable beds, nice vanity, and updated kitchen. The accommodations were minimal in furniture and amenities. The couch was ok for two, but an arm chair and another side table would be nice. Also, as it is an older home, there is limited closet space. Dressers in the bedrooms would be helpful. In addition, to get to the backyard patio/grill/hot tub you needed to exit through the front door around the house to the backyard gate. Not convenient if raining or muddy. There was no dishwasher, dish soap, or cleaning tools/cloths which made washing dishes a challenge. Super important to know is how slippery the tub is!! Could use a mat or non-slip strips of some kind. The landscaping at the drive needs to be cut back to allow clear passage in the drive. And the night light was burnt out.

Cute house

The house is cozy. The only feedback I have is to fix the toilet because it has a high pitch sound for a minute or two after flushing, which woke us up at night. Also, the ability to walk out the back door to the hot tub would be more private & convenient. I tried communicating with the property manager ahead of time to ask what kind of coffee maker but got to answer. It’s a Keurig (k-cup).

Very disappointed

Me and our friends have stayed at this property before and loved it. We saw it listed and decided to stay again. We picked it for the hot tub and it did not work at all during our stay. We tried all the troubleshooting that the property manager suggested and still did not work. I let the property manager know first thing the next morning and they stated the spa tech would fix that day. We got back to the house that evening and it still didn’t work so I contacted property manager again and no response. Very disappointing we could have stayed at a place closer and for less but chose this property for the hot tub and never got to use it and didn’t receive a response when we asked about the spa tech coming by to fix it. We wanted to stay in and enjoy the hot tub on New Year’s Eve and was very disappointed that we weren’t able to.
