Cactus Flower Cottage - un refugio tranquilo y encantador con vista al mar

Cactus Flower Cottage es una encantadora cabaña de 1 dormitorio ubicada en Fish Bay, una de St. El barrio más tranquilo de John. Construido entre 200 años de ruinas aún visibles en la propiedad. Disfrute de papaya, coco y otras frutas frescas de los árboles en los jardines cuando esté en temporada. Un paseo de 10 minutos desde Cruz Bay en carreteras pavimentadas. La cabaña incluye una cocina completa, terraza cubierta, ducha privada privada de piedra nativa, jardines establecidos, aire acondicionado en la habitación, TV por cable, internet de alta velocidad, agua caliente solar, vista al agua de Fish Bay y el Mar Caribe. Los huéspedes de la cabaña tienen uso completo de la piscina, que se encuentra junto a la casa principal. El acceso a North Shore Beach se encuentra a 5-10 minutos en automóvil. Las playas de South Shore, los sitios históricos en ruinas y los senderos del parque nacional están a poca distancia. Se recomienda alquilar el vehículo. El servicio de taxi también es fácil.

Second time staying in the home. I’ll say to anyone traveling to the area, this is the go to!! Home was far enough outside of town that we didn’t feel like true tourist (we were, but you get it). The host were very communicative and helpful through the check in process and our leave day. Pete the cat was also a wonderful host while the owners were away

The cottage was lovely. I’d say the only confusion in the description was whether it was near a beach. There was a beach nearby but I did not see any obvious place to park or enter the beach, it appeared to be all private access. The beach had a sargasm issue in July anyway, so we spent our time beach hopping the beautiful northern beaches. The cottage was clean and fully stocked including towels, beach towels, extra linens and pillows, paper goods, and kitchen supplies. Basic spices were available in the pantry. The hosts were friendly and helpful but we did not run into them frequently. There was something magical about the outdoor shower. In addition to being super fun to use, my hair has never been that soft. I even ordered her shampoos at home but it must have been the water because I can’t replicate it. I also admired the lovely screened in porch, fully furnished and offering the wonderful peeper songs at night. If it wasn’t 100 degrees we would have used it more. The bedroom had a king and was a good size. The bedding and linens were quality. After the rains I could pick up a perfect fallen flower on the front stair for my hair. 100% get the jeep. Would stay here again and recommend!

St John’s adventure

Tina was very helpful and communicative. Cactus Flower was a wonderful place for us as we explored the island. She had beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear and even a cooler we could use during our stay. Our last day we enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub as well. The air conditioning in the bedroom was very nice and allowed for restful sleep after full days of hiking and swimming. Thank you for opening up your bungalow to us!

Loved our stay at Cactus Flower Cottage!Great interaction with the owners,and especially loved the snuggles with their kitties and pup!Spent lots of time on the beautiful covered deck and it was very relaxing!Beautiful and peaceful! definitely understand it is an open air cottage, it was a blessing to have air conditioning in the bedroom as the rest of the cottage can be pretty warm when the high! Nonetheless, we would definitely return again and very much, enjoyed it!

Awesome as always!

This cottage is the perfect place for a couple.We love the outdoor shower,the kitchen has everything we needed,Joe and Tina are excellent hosts. Quite and peaceful.

Excellent Stay

We had the most wonderful time on island and the stay at this cottage was perfect. Excellent location. Easy drive from Cruz Bay. No rough roads or crazy parking! Cottage had everything we needed and the AC in the bedroom was fantastic! We highly recommend!

Great villa with an awesome stone outdoor shower

Cactus Flower was a wonderful 1 bedroom villa with a wonderful Stone Outdoor shower. Joe and Tina were wonderful Hosts with decades of local knowledge. Fish bay is so close to everything. I would highly recommend this 1 bedroom villa

Truly an amazing cottage in paradise

I'm so glad I found this gem on Vrbo. My boyfriend and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and perfectly located. We truly felt like we were in paradise! The hosts where so kind and accommodating. We can't wait to come back!

St. Johns in general.

Accommodations were okay. Air-conditioning was in the bed room only. St. Johns island itself was horrible. Too many people. If you didn't get to the beaches by 8:30 there was no parking spaces left and you may as well go home. The restaurants were mediocre and expensive and you need to make a reservation a week in advance. I will never go to any USVI ever again. Try Virgin Gorda or Anguilla they are much better.

Great cottage!

We came to St. John for a wedding and stayed at Cactus Flower. Vivi and Riley were very gracious hosts and took care of all our needs. Luckily the cottage has a solar generator because the power goes out daily in St. John! The cottage was perfect for us

Just Far Enough

Completely enjoyed our time at Cactus Flower. Everything you see is accurate. The cottage is well-built and maintained. The heavy, tropical, hand-made woodwork adds a distinctive feel when compared to the local architecture. The drive is not far from town, but just far enough to enjoy quiet nights with the sounds of the local birds and wildlife. We like it when it's dark at night, rather than overlooking a lit up "city" below us. Cactus flower provided the ocean proximity and view (a little limited as depicted in the photos), combined with tranquillity in what felt like a very safe neighborhood. The bed is very comfortable. Woodwork and stonework in the bedroom add attractiveness, with the ceiling fan and AC for sleeping soundly. The dual fans in the living area keep the area comfortable, and heavy screened doors keep any bugs out very effectively. The shower is wonderful, connecting directly to the bathroom. All appliances worked well, including laundry, coffee maker, range and oven.The porch is a luxury. We dipped in the pool once, and never used the hot tub (but did take a look and it was tempting). The pool is small, as are most pools on St John. It is "attached" to the owners' home, but appointed for guests. After enjoying the beaches everyday and cleaning up in the shower, the pool was an afterthought. Hosts are very responsive when needed, but you are likely to barely see them if they're not. We felt that our vacation time and privacy were completely respected.

Joe is a licensed contractor on St John. Tina is a Finance Manager and Real Estate Agent. Our combined family includes 3 daughters who attend college and highschool in the Carolinas. And a son who works and lives in Charlotte, NC. Joe has lived on St. John since 1974 when his parents moved here with their 7 kids. Two siblings and his parents still live on St. John. Tina has lived on St John since 2004 and previously in the 80’s.

Joe found a unique piece of property with historical ruins and pictured building his dream home. He first designed and built Cactus Flower to live in. The cottage has all custom woodworking throughout. He and Tina now live in the main house that he also designed and built. Joe and Tina also own the adjoining property.

The cottage and main villa encompass 250 year old ruins. Together with the adjoining property, there are fruit trees and gardens to enjoy.
