La cabaña está en Nelson Lake, que es tranquila, pero incluye acceso a siete bares y / o restaurantes. Hay un muelle privado (mayo-septiembre) con un área de lanzamiento de botes cercana y alquiler de botes. Esta cabaña también tiene acceso directo al lago desde el patio trasero, que es ideal para la pesca en hielo en invierno. Hay un contenedor de basura en el sitio para basura y reciclaje.

The house is very nice. Beth was very accommodating and answered all questions promptly. The property does have a lot of stairs if you are older with knee problems. Cleanliness could have been better.We had a great time and the Hayward area is a nice place to visit.

Awesome property

We had 11-12 people staying for a week (3 adults and 8-9 kids (ages 7-13)). The property was perfect for us. Plenty of space and rooms/beds; the kitchen was well stocked with all the things you need to feed a family as large as ours; and the outdoor area/dock was great for swimming and fishing, and the fire pit was awesome (it had plenty of covered/dry wood to have a fire for hours and chairs for all guests). The location of the cabin on Nelson Lake was splendid with wonderful views of the lake. We are hoping to book this cabin again.

Wonderful stay!

Loved the property and the lake. Everything was very clean, plenty of room for the 9 of us. We rented a pontoon, kayak and a paddle board near by for the week. We caught fish and swam, Hayward is close by with nice restaurants, shopping. Had a wonderful week.

We had a great stay! Loved the cabin feel with all the comforts of home! Beautiful lake with lots of fall color to view! Even got in a little fishing off the dock! The ATV trails in the area were fantastic! We are looking forward to returning!

A delightful getaway in a lovely home

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a delight to see the leaves changing. Some of us enjoyed evening time on the dock reveling in the tranquil water. Waking up each day to the view of the lake made our time extra special. The kitchen was well-equipped for the meals we cooked in.

Family vacation

This property is a great secluded location in northern Wisconsin. My family had a great time enjoying the lake with floaties tied to the dock. The firepit is awesome! It was nice to have upper level and lower level living so people could spread out and have privacy. The owners are very quick to respond to questions or concerns. Highly recommend!

Wonderful property just need a little cleaning

Property was wonderful. I feel it wasn’t cleaned before we got there . Bathrooms dirty and kitchen and refrigerator needed cleaning . Refrigerator in basement needed defrosting to work properly. Pier was nice and house was spacious . Overall a very nice stay

I am glad you enjoyed your stay! I apologize for the cleanliness of the bathrooms and kitchen. I have used the same cleaning person for the past eight years and this typically has not been a problem, so it is unfortunate that this occurred for your stay. Prior to anyone's arrival, I always confirm that the cleaning is complete and in this case, I did get a confirmation that the cleaning was completed. However, it sounds like several areas were missed. I will make sure to address this going forward.

Family Reunion

The house was perfect for our needs. The outside area did not work so well with young kids (my granddaughter, 8 years old, did catch a nice bass off of the dock, however). The slope is very steep in the front with many steps, although there are paths that can be used. Location to Hayward is great. Overall it met our needs.

Stay was enjoyable cabin was comfortable the drawback was the elevation of the cabin to the lakefront, lots of slope and many steps. There was no sandy beach front, Sandy Bottom however had quite a few weeds in the swimming area

This is correct but I would like to clarify more on the elevation in case this review raises questions. There are approximately 20 stairs from the deck to a grassy area and then an elevation to walk down to the large flat open area near lake. Please see the fourth picture to see the elevation to the lake.

beautiful property

Hosts were helpful in every way. Nice home in a pretty spot. Close to neighbors and lake. Great place for larger groups. Near trails and gas. Hosts plowed out a spot for our large snowmobile trailers across the street, but proved difficult to get our items to the house and park snowmobiles on property. lake access by snowmobile was near impossible from the property.

Great Stay!

Home is clean. Bathrooms and bedrooms are spacious. Bunk bed is meant for kids and not adults. Loved sleeping in the 3-4 Season room . Felt like Glamping :) Bring your own oils, sprays and cooking spices. None exist in the house that we could find. Owner is excellent with communication. We will be returning.

I do apologize regarding the lack of oils and cooking spices. The state of Wisconsin does not allow rentals to keep opened food items from renter to renter for fear of contamination. I have added this to my instruction guide so renters know this going forward. Sorry for the inconvenience and glad you will be returning!

Annual family trip

This home was beautiful and absolutely perfect for our large group! The owner was very nice and easy to get ahold of about anything (questioned trash day). The only negative was the pictures of the outside are out dated. The porch we thought we were going to have is no longer there. The way to the lake is also very steep and some of our family is older and had trouble getting down (the children loved it 🙈😂)

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that the photos were not updated. We recently removed our deck (as stated in a previous review, the deck was in rough shape) and replaced it with a stamped concrete patio. We were not able to take any pictures until we visited the 4th of July week (the website has now been updated). We also added more stairs because the incline in the grass from the deck stairs was too steep. As you know, the same furniture that was pictured on the deck was on the patio but since your stay, we added a large sectional couch and fire table. We chose a patio over a deck due to difficulty finding someone to put in a new deck and the patio allows for an unobstructed view of the lake and backyard.

Fun Family Vacation

We booked this for our family vacation. The home was perfect for 6 adults. It is located on Nelson Lake, which had some fun places to boat to and not far from town. Beth was responsive and provided lots of information about different restaurants in the area. The kitchen was well stocked and they had a gas grill as well as a flattop grill. The fire pit area Is great for evening bonfires. There was also a propane fire pit but the propane tank was empty. The place is clean and had an up north vibe. There are a few minor things that need to be addressed (i.e. cracked toilet seat, outlets not working and burnt out bulbs) but it definitely would not prevent me from renting again. The walk down to the lake has lots of stairs so we definitely got our daily flights in. Some may have issues since there is no railing to hang onto.

Our stay July 25-August 1st

Beth, we stayed at your home the week of July 25-August 1st. We arrived at the house about 10 minutes prior to check in, and waited in the driveway until the cleaners were finished The cleaner was a lady with two kids which I'm assuming was her son and daughter. She was carrying a large garbage bag which I'm assuming was laundry?? We started to take our things into the house and unloaded. A few concerning things: 1. A large clump of hair behind the bathroom door in the master bedroom. I have a picture if you would like to see it. 2. The bath towels and some of the sheets smelled like smoke. We washed the towels prior to using. 3. The deck needed sweeping and the furniture was dirty.I cleaned the patio table and chairs, tiki bar and swept the leaves, etc. from the floor 4. Your house is very nice but the cleanliness was not the best! These are things that we thought you should know. Chuck and Kathy Schultz

I sincerely apologize for the cleanliness issues you have raised and I thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. Our cleaning person has done an outstanding job in the past so I will check in with her to see what happened to make sure this does not happen again in the future. Several renters have commented that our cabin is very clean in the past and I would like this to continue for future renters. Also, the "two kids" who were with the cleaning person were her adult son and future daughter-in-law who help with the family business. Yes, Sawyer County sent us the cleaning guidelines for COVID-19 and our cleaning person has the checklist to follow (which she distributes to anyone she hires to clean). Regarding the laundry, it is standard practice for cleaning companies to bring laundry to a commercial laundry mat. With the large amount of laundry generated, it would take 6 hours to do the laundry at the cabin, which is longer than it typically takes to clean. Again, thank you for bringing these issues to my attention.

family time at The Lake

Excellent cabin on Lake Nelson! Nice dock, great firepit, 2 big fridges, sleeps 12. Great for a family get-together which is what we did. It has an entirely knotty-pine interior, which is great for an Up North place although I wouldn't want it in my primary home. The deck and outdoor stairs were a bit old, but the owner assures me that they're scheduled for replacement before anyone else rents the place, so this should not apply to you, the reader. :-)

Amazing!

Had a blast staying here! Lake views were spectacular! Very quiet and cozy. The lake was perfect for tubing and water skiiing. Not very crowded. Would stay here again!
