Matuku Hideaway is a 2 bedroom Two Mile Bay holiday home set on peaceful, generous grounds, close to the lake edge. This laid back Taupo holiday home offers great indoor/outdoor living, with sleeping for up to 6 guests.

This Two Mile Bay holiday home includes open-plan living, kitchen, and dining. The living area opens onto the deck making this a great summer option, or keep cosy during cooler stays with the closed fireplace.

Each of the 2 bedrooms at this Two Mile Bay accommodation is situated off the living area. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a queen bed, and includes deck access. Bedroom 2 is fitted with 2 single beds, plus there is a sofa bed in the living area when required.

For laid back summer living, there is ample room outdoors to enjoy a BBQ or kick back in the hammock with a good book! In the evening, take a stroll along the popular Lions Walk. For days on the water, you are just moments from the lakes edge and boat ramp at 2 Mile Bay.

Small, toilet-trained pets are allowed inside. Otherwise, pets are allowed outside only. No large dogs inside please as the house is quite small.

Good stay, the bathroom was great and modern, just was something wrong with the door.

Location was close to two mile bay and pretty much to everything. Older house but functional.

Excellent Bach

Really enjoyed our stay. Location was excellent. Bach was clean and well provisioned. We had two dogs and the proximity to the lake and a park at the rear of the property was fantastic. Will be back again.

It was very clean and quiet, and a little smaller than expected, but perfect for two people. Its set back down a long driveway in a private location. Being set in native bush there is very little light pollution.It has a massive woodburner, so it will be very toasty in winter., and although not used, a BBQ is also provided.It is walking distance to the lake, but you need to safely navigate crossing the busy main road with no crossing nearby. The walk back is uphill. This should be included in the description.Some daily challenges as two females staying, there is no plug socket near a mirror and an extension lead is needed. We did not use any cooking facilities.

Get little space

The house is a great place to rest after a big day exploring. It is dated but functional and cosy. We loved the deck and grounds of the property. The location was good too (we did have a car). Given the house is old, it got very cold and we found the heating options weren’t ideal in that we didn’t want to leave a tiny oil heat running all day while we were out but also didn’t need a big fire burning at the end of the day either. Not having access to wifi was a really big issue. The listing never said there was internet, it was my own fault for assuming it would have it. I would absolutely stay here again if the property had wifi.
