House Rules
No smoking permitted on the property.
Please respect the check-in and check-out times.
No parties or events
All guests must be registered - access to bedrooms and linen supply is dependent on the number of guests in your booking.

Regarding the 2 floor mattresses available - we are happy to provide the linen for these beds if there are more than 8 guests, however, guests will need to make up these beds and place the mattresses in an area of the home suitable to your needs, eg. upstairs games room, 4th bedroom.

YOUNG CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES WHILE UPSTAIRS.

Your well behaved, house trained pet is welcome, however please note the following:
Pets are not permitted in bedrooms or on the furniture at any time.
Please do not place your pet's bedding on carpeted areas.
There is access to the secure yard via doggy door.
You must clean up thoroughly after your pet or additional charges may apply.
Pets are not to be left unattended at the property if they become distressed eg. excessive barking or destructive behaviours.
BBQ must be cleaned prior to departure or additional charges may apply.

Great weekend to turn 18

The house was absolutely perfect for my self, my husband and our grown up children to celebrate our youngest daughter’s 18th. The many activities and the variety of spaces catered for everyone’s needs. Everything we needed was at our fingertips - a home away from home

A Very clean and well appointed holiday home

We had a lovely long weekend stay at The Sandcastle. The house was spotlessly clean, very well appointed with nothing else needed, with very comfortable beds and couches. We had a relaxing time- even our fur babies enjoyed the yard. The host was very attentive, responding to our queries quickly. We highly recommend staying at The Sandcastle - plenty of room for everyone. 5

Home away from home

Our stay was exceptional from the little touches that were there for the two year old fun games for the young adults & the just relaxing time for the older adults, just what we all needed.

Great Port Elliot getaway

Stayed for 3 nights in this great house, lots of space and perfect location , in walking distance to shops, cafes and horse shoe bay. Games room to entertain all ages. Thanks Lucinda, you have thought of everything, with all the extra homely touches. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Weekend trip

Absolutely loved staying here! Location was amazing - lots of nice cafés and restaurants in walking distance and super close to the beach. Main road didn’t bother us at all. Very spacious, comfy beds and furniture, and very clean. Overall this gets a 10/10 from me!

.........."The Sand Castle" at Port Elliot........Amazing!!

This place is spot on - what you see, and what's promised is exactly what you get - very well appointed in every aspect - we've stayed in other (very nice) accommodation along that stretch of coast over the years, however "The Sand Castle" was at the next level - we'd definitely go back!!........and our host Lucinda made certain that the process from booking through to departure was seamless - great communication...five stars from us!!

“Absolutely Fabulous”

We chose The Sandcastle for our annual family getaway with our daughters and their partners and one 10 year old granddaughter. Everyone appreciated the space, comfort and activities available to enjoy in this lovely clean, spacious, bright and welcoming home. Communication with the host was easy and very helpful.

Everything you could need and such a lovely host

We had such a lovely family stay here. The personal touches from the host, Lucinda, were so appreciated and she is so accommodating. And great communication. So much to do. Kids loved the games room plus the upstairs area. Beds were comfortable, great fire pit. Just wonderful and would stay again. Everything you could need and definitely felt like a home rather than a house. Thank you.

Feels like home

Excellent property. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Our host Lucinda was so lovely and replied quickly to any questions. There is nothing you need to bring except food and clothing as the home has absolutely all you need even down to the finest details - they have thought of everything. Very close to shops and cafes/hotels. Would highly recommend as we will look forward to staying again .

Perfect Girls Weekend

Beautifully appointed property in a great location. Perfect for walks along the beaches (saw dolphins and whales!), delicious local food and coffee, and strolling the picturesque town and shops. Comfy beds, cozy heating, lots of games and books, and a well stocked kitchen. Lovely views across to the hills. Lucinda was super friendly and helpful!! We’ve already decided this is the perfect house for our annual girls trip. Can’t wait to visit in summer too.

Sumptuous sandcastle!

Oh my goodness the hostess with the mostest Is Lucinda! She simply could not do enough for us! The sandcastle has absolutely EVERYTHING and more that you would want for a gorgeous weekend away with girlfriends Walking distance to the beach and the main st for coffee Thankyou Lucinda- we would love to come back! Large house in a great location

Sandcastles was a fantastic house only a 5-10 minute walk from the main street of Pt Elliot. Very clean and well appointed with high quality linen and towels. The kitchen had everything and more we needed. Great kitchen and dining area and 2 large living areas. Perfect for 2 families or 4 women on a girls weekend, like us! Lucinda was lovely to deal with and very responsive to messages. Highly recommend. It is right on the main road between Victor to Goolwa though so there is some traffic noise but it didn't bother us.

Outstanding destination

This house is fabulous- particularly for a family with teens with free Wifi, two living areas, 4 TVs, pool table, foosball & table tennis- even scooters, bodyboards and wetsuits for the warmer months. It would work just as well for up to 3 couples or a family with young children. So well equipped- more glassware in the kitchen than at our own home! Although on the main road in Port Elliot we were not bothered by traffic noise and ducted heating/cooling makes for a comfortable house all year round. The communication from our host Lucinda was exceptional. The check in and out process was seamless and she was quickly responsive to any questions- not that we needed to ask any during the stay as the hosts had really thought of everything. Added bonus was it was a pet friendly destination complete with a doggy door to the back patio!

Sandcastle stay…

The property had everything we could ever need as a family including space for everyone and plenty of games and things to do.. We even made use of some of the wetsuits at the property for our teens.. Clear instruction's on how to use anything and everything throughout the property and what to do if anything went wrong.. Beds were so comfy and all linen and towels provided which helped with space in our car when packing.. We really did feel very spoilt compared to other properties we have stayed in. The only negative was a cranky neighbour complaining when our teenage girls were playing an excited game of table tennis and listening to music between 2030-2100pm one night and unfortunately it did dampen the rest of the night and in turn kept us from using the shed for the rest of the holiday.. Lucinda was very apologetic and we totally understand they are stuck in between a rock and a hard place, but plans to line the shed should solve the problem for all.. Overall The Sandcastle was the perfect holiday home.. !

Enjoyable Christmas week!

We have just spent a wonderful Christmas week at The Sandcastle. Excellent holiday home with everything you need. Great communication with host. Good location with easy walk into main area of Pt Elliot. Beach access up the hill but an easy walk. Home is well laid out with good areas upstairs and down. Third toilet an extra bonus! Great kitchen with ample crockery/cutlery, pantry cupboard and two door fridge/freezer. Facilities were easy to manage for a disabled and visually impaired adult and her dog. Can highly recommend this holiday home. Thankyou Lucinda for giving us a wonderful Christmas week........the Christmas Tree and lights another bonus!!

Wonderful place to stay

Sandcastle is a wonderful property, with lots of space for family and things to explore. We loved the modern decor. We can even play a game of snooker, and there are lots of books to read. The bed and pillow was very comfortable and clean and I could sleep without any problem (I usually have problem sleeping in strange bed). initially, there had been some issues with lighting in some areas but it had been fixed. Lucinda was very helpful and communication was easy. We decided to book in again in December for our families to come in to enjoy the place.

Wonderful weekend away

Our stay at Sandcastles was fantastic. The home has everything you could want for a weekend getaway. There are cute little instructions for everything, so you're not left wondering where things are or how they work! There's plenty of space, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds & quality linen & furnishings. The pool table & outdoor area were perfect for relaxing. Lucinda was great to communicate with & explained everything. We were lucky to get a late check-out too. A beautifully presented home away from home 😊

Everything you need/want plus more!

Lucinda was extremely obliging, quick to respond and did all in her power to ensure a pleasant stay. Our teens who were initially reluctant to come, want us to book it again as they had so much healthy fun ( away from screens 👍). But then watched a classic movie later on ,on one of the multiple big screens. Lots of laughs playing Fussball and pool and so good that it's walking distance to the shops and pubs! I have never stayed in such a well equipped place and we've been to many!! It seriously caters from babies to oldies and all in between. Cannot recommend highly enough and already checking the diary to book a stay early next year. Thank you!

I live in Adelaide with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. We've been holidaying in Port Elliot since I was a teenager, and we simply adore it.

To say I am excited to be the new host of The Sandcastle is an understatement! I am very fortunate to be taking over from very experienced hosts and mentors, Hal and Shirley. Under Hal and Shirley's guidance, this home has earned a multitude of excellent reviews, and I am committed to upholding this standard.

I will aim to make your stay as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. Please reach out if you have any questions or requests - I will endeavour to reply to any enquiries as quickly as possible on the same day.

Many of our happiest memories with family and friends have been forged in Port Elliot. I'd be delighted to be your host and hope that you and your guests will enjoy your time here as much as we always do.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We fell in love with this property due to its central location and layout. We really enjoy being able to walk everywhere in Port Elliot, whether it's a morning stroll to the beach picking up a lovely coffee on the way back, or a meal at one of the local pubs and a beer or glass of wine with friends. Our teenagers love the freedom that comes with being able to easily walk to the shops or beach.

The layout of the home with separate living areas upstairs and downstairs, plus the fantastic outdoor area gives everyone space to relax and enjoy themselves. The pool table and games room area is terrific.

The property also has great accessibility, with the master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and 3rd toilet downstairs, along with kitchen, dining, living and outdoor entertaining areas.
