Wanting a getaway to tranquil Turangi where you're perfectly positioned to enjoy both the mountains, the lake, and the rivers? We have the perfect spot for you. Welcome to Tui Hutt.
This charming lockwood home is cozy and furnished with comfort in mind. The ideal spot to come back to after your days of exploring this exciting part of New Zealand.

The space
In summer or winter, Tui Hut offers year-round relaxation with comfortable indoor and outdoor living. Warm sunny days/evenings can be spent dining alfresco and sizzling up a feast on the BBQ. In winter make yourself right at home in the living room, where you’ll love the toasty warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. Tui Hut offers complimentary WiFi, a TV with Freeview, PlayStation, and a range of books and puzzles for everyone to enjoy.

There are two bedrooms that sleep up to five guests, making this a great spot for two couples or a family looking for a base for their fishing, boating, hiking, or snow escape. Walk across the road and you are on the Tongariro River Trail. Walk, run or mountain bike these well-maintained tracks or divert into one of the many fisherman accesses. There is a great swimming hole just 1 ½ min walk!

For a day on the lake, drive to the Tokaanu Northern Boat Ramp just seven minutes away.
Hop in the car and you’ve got a region filled with adventure and beautiful scenery. Hike the Tongariro Crossing, raft down the Tongariro River, visit the trout hatchery, or indulge in a soak at the Tokaanu Thermal Pools. It's all so easy and Taupo is only 40min drive.

If you're feeling famished after an adventure-filled day, the local supermarket, cafés and restaurants are all a convenient four-minute drive away from Tui Hut.

Tui Hut is a private spot backing onto the river where relaxation or adventure awaits.

Guest access
Guests have full access of the house. There is no access to the garage.

This is a 2 bedroom property. Please note, the bedding configuration for this property includes a queen bed in bedroom 1, and a set of triple bunks in bedroom 2. Bed linen is provided but guesses are required to bring their own towels.

Spacious comfortable Bach in quiet but central location

This was our second stay in this well equipped Bach with outside deck and BBQ, as well as kitchen with everything you might want. The location is very quiet, two mins walk from the river and its beautiful walking trails with grocery stores very close by.Communication with the owner was excellent. The whole area is very attractive with lots to do.We highly recommend it and hope to be back again.

Comfortable, quiet, good value

Lovely location close to the river, with easy access to town. Clean and comfortable, well equipped for self catering. Spacious, and with large deck, ideal for sunny days. We enjoyed the walking trails close by. We’re happy to have been in this safe secure place during the Cyclone. !

Comfy Retreat

We very much enjoyed our 5 day stay. The property is warm and very comfortable. We really appreciated the wee touches such as the tea/coffee box as well as the other condiments available. The house is extremely well equipped so we lacked for nothing. A great home away from home

Perfect little bach

This one exceeded our expectations. Close to everything you need and a very nice place. What we didn’t expect was the river trail to be so amazing, just steps from the property. We also picked a bag of blackberries from alongside the trail. I would love to come back here just to fish. We spent one day at the national park and this was the perfect spot to have as home base. Never having been to the area, I am glade we stayed here and not in Taupo, which was much busier.

Cozy and comfortable

Nice chalet style accommodations - loved the fire place! Directions re key location -not as clear as they could be -but we did find it. Small negative - No bath towels provided -we were aware of this before we booked as it is stated in the listing -just creates an unnecessary inconvenience on our opinion

Et au milieu coulait une rivière...

Nous avons vraiment apprécié le confort et l'espace de cette location après avoir effectué la randonnée du Tongariro Crossing. Nous avons pu nous détendre au calme sur la terrasse. L'emplacement est également idéal pour se balader le long de la rivière ( parcours en boucle de plus de deux heures). Enfin, les nombreuses recommandations fournies par notre hôte se sont avérées très utiles.Nous recommandons vivement cette location.

Logement à ne pas rater !

Notre séjour dans cette maison a été exceptionnelle. L’emplacement tout prêt de la rivière est idéal. La maison en elle-même est absolument ravissante, toute en bois. Il s‘agit d’un petit chalet très bien décoré, avec un poêle pour chauffer. La literie est très confortable. Le logement est parfaitement équipé pour une famille souhaitant résider plusieurs jours.
