Ocean Blue, sunny, spacious beach home close to surf & shops
Spacious and sunny 3 bed home ideal for your next beach holiday. The well designed living area is open plan and extends out onto a large deck & lawn with outdoor furnishings & BBQ. Extras such as beach toys, ping pong & being pet friendly make this home perfect for a family or group of friends. Central location only a few mins stroll to the beach and a 5 min drive to the main village with many shops, cafes and restaurants. Nearby is local favourite Surf Shack Cafe, dairy, fish & chips and estuary walkway.
There are three comfortable bedroom all with Queen size beds opening into the living area. The master bedroom has its own ensuite and the other two bedrooms use the seperate bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. The garage has a laundry, ping pong table and lots of beach toys such as boogie boards and sun umbrellas for guest use. The large open plan lounge area with fully equipped kitchen and dining area is perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The living opens onto the landscaped garden and deck with an indoor/outdoor flow perfect for that holiday feel.
Relax on the outdoor bean bags enjoying a glass of wine while the kids run around on the lawn. Cook on that BBQ and enjoy outdoor dining on the deck with ample seating options. It really doesn't get any easier on holiday!
If you bring your boat there is a ramp 5 minutes away at Bowentown, with a protected tidal harbour for fishing, water skiing, kayaking and wind surfing or venture out across the bar for excellent fishing and diving. Enjoying a round of golf is possible in Waihi and Katikati. There are also mineral hot pools nearby at both Athenree Holiday Park and Sapphire Springs in Katikati (if you go to Sapphire Springs take the nearby walk to the southernmost giant Kauri in NZ, a short 30 min round trip through beautiful NZ bush). There's a huge range of great cafes and shops in the area, the best are mentioned in our local guidebook or feel free to ask your host if you have any specific questions.

It's just a short walk down the road to the ocean beach, with one of Waihi Beaches better cafes the Surf Shack just a min or two down a local pathway at the end of the street. This house is also a minute or so walk from the estuary walkway that is perfect for bird watching, walking, running or biking, this 5km track runs alongside the estuary and ends at the Bowentown reserve which features a kids playground, boat ramp, restaurant and boat club where you can also grab a meal. If it's a more quiet beach you're after, Anzac Cove is a 5 min drive away, perfect for kids who don't like waves!
The beaches nearby are wonderful for walking, shell collecting, swimming, surfing or playing in the sand. There are many well equipped children’s playgrounds in the area as well as great walking and biking tracks including the famous Mountain Bike trail through the Karangahake Gorge. This trail is great for kids (or any age) you pass over bridges, through tunnels and explore the old gold mine and waterfall.
Nearby Waihi Beach village is full of boutique shops, fantastic restaurants and cafes, a small supermarket and award-winning butcher making this area full of everything you need for that perfect getaway!
This beach house is in an ideal location to explore the Bay of Plenty. Tauranga is a 1-hour drive, and Coromandel is 1.5 hours. The Karangahake Gorge is 20 min drive away for wonderful walking and exploring as well as a winery, restaurant and café, a waterfall and bike trails. Hobbiton is only an hours drive away and the famous Waitomo Caves or Rotorua both 1.5-2 hours away by car. Auckland International airport is also only 2 hours drive.
